A beautiful city, with plenty to fill your time and interesting places just a short journey away. Everything is reasonably priced, such as eating out and museums, and the beer is cheap and really good quality.
The hostel was adequate and very reasonable, but don’t expect much from the breakfast.
I would defiantly recommend a city break to Prague, as well as the southern town of chesky kromlov, just three hour bus ride from Prague. A beautiful, small town with an interesting castle and water sports as well as a fairly lively nightlife. Appeals to both older and younger travellers.

The Golden Sickle was a really friendly hostel, run by English-speaking people, who were helpful in every way, giving advice on sights to see, places to visit and even the best taxi services to get you back to the airport (they even rang up and booked the taxi for you).
The rooms were perfect hostel rooms; tidy, clean, fairly spacious, and quite secure, with a kitchen and a shower, all for a relatively cheap price. It's also situated in the heart of the city, and many of the main attractions are easily in walking distance. Of course, the more distant areas of the city are equally accessible with the metro system.
There's even an underground bar just next door, in which bar staff eventually bring you drinks if you're there long enough! All in all, perfect for students such as myself, interested in seeing the city with a few friends, for a relatively cheap price.
