Delusions of grandeur
from A TripAdvisor Member
Ansty Hall presents itself as a classy country hotel, but it's a bit of a sham, summed up by its proximity to a motorway. There's no point in having a nice building and gardens if the service and general ambience never rise above what you'd expect from a travel tavern. You get the impression that the place isn't looking to offer a special stay to lure back the individual guest; that instead it is happy to milk the 'event' market (corporate bonding sessions, wedding receptions) and charge a captive audience top dollar for a very average...

Very nice hotel, good service
from Bobby1802
I enjoyed my stay in Ansty Hall very much. The rooms were very nice and clean. My room was in the main house which is older but renovated. The rooms in the new building I was told by colleagues were a bit bigger and there were some problems with the shower. The restaurant is a bit upscale, but the service and food were said to be very good and worth the money. There is a nice and good pub a few metres down the road. I found the service in this hotel excellant, nothing to complain. The breakfast was perfect. Ansty Hall is far away from...

service with a smile.....

Just returned from a weekend away at Ansty Hall. We took the advice of previous reviewers and left our luggage in the car while we checked in and yes, we had an annexe room. Right from the word go we found all the staff very courteous and pleasant. We were offered help with our luggage, given clear directions to our room and found it to be nice enough except for the fact that, unlike the info on the ansty hall website which leads you to believe that your room would have "wonderful views over countryside" we had the not quite so enchanting...

Not quite as good as it could be....
from hotelscout
2nd visit here, this time to meet with friends for a Satuday night stay. Same reception problems as last time - vague and uninterested booking-in process with no clue that we would have to traipse across the car park again to our room, and no offer to take our luggage which we had carried from the car. My key didn't fit the room so we called reception from a friends room, but no offer to come and help...so another walk across the car park to reception. Nobody to serve drinks in the afternoon, twenty minute wait for tea etc. Wine...

A very good standard.

I stayed here with my wife for 1 night while in the area for business, when im next in the area this is where I’ll stay. One piece of advice from reviews posted on TripAdvisor is to leave your luggage in the car until you know whether your in the main building or the annexe. I forgot...although I was offered help with our luggage. I was quite disappointed to be in the annexe as the main hotel building was so impressive. Very country house hotel, with a nice roaring log fire in reception. I needn’t of worried though the annexe room...

Potential to be a Really Good Hotel
from MikeyBEssex
Lots of positives about this hotel which has the potential to be a really first class establishment. However one or two service issues detracted. Lovely looking building, in pleasant grounds and a nice setting, very convenient for the motorway (which I couldn't see or hear). Main building is surrounded by annexes and my room was away from the main building. Suggest you keep your luggage in the car until you have checked in to avoid a lengthy walk from the car park to reception, and then back past the car to your room. Had to return to...

Good Base

Have just returned from a two night stay at the Ansty Hall hotel. Not exactly the country setting I was expecting (you don't have to crane your neck too much to catch a glimps of the motorway) but it was still in a very pleasant spot - with baby rabbits and squirrels running across the lawns. It's ideally located for touring the midlands; Warwick Castle - which I'd thoroughly recommend - is only some 20mins drive away, as are many other attractions. Having requested a non-smoking room - and being allocated one (it said as much on the...

Nice looking, but take your own sandwiches
from A TripAdvisor Member
Lovely place to stay with beautiful gardens - but the food was expensive and tasted like it had been made from the very cheapest ingredients money can buy. To be fair I did not try the restaurant but the room service meal I had on my first night - which came from the same kitchen - was truly disgusting. Breakfast was not much better (stale, weak filter coffee, cheap bread, cereals, pastries etc). I didn't see the point in starving myself any longer.
Consistently good.

I stay here frequently and a few nights stay make being away from home more than bearable. There are a number of nearby hotels, which are closer to town centers, but I think the twenty minute drive into the quiet countryside is worth the effort. The main building, a large stately home, contains a variety of grand rooms over looking the grounds. The rooms are very well appointed and tasteful. The rooms in the adjoining accommodation block are more generic but just as comfortable. The hotel is particularly pleasant during the summer months.<br...

Arrived at Ansty hall in May 2002 beautiful grounds beautiful spacious lounges and meeting areas unfortunatley I had room 30 which was apparently over the kitchens it vibrated for most of the night rather like sleeping on a ferry boat and was also very stuffy even with the windows open. Otherwise a very pleasant stay room 29 was reported the same but room 28 was ok.

We spent a Christmas break at Ansty Hall hotel, and I didn’t have great expectations. There was not too much entertainments organised other than carols in the hall, and a gala dinner with a trio on Boxing night. It was easy to find, and in a nice elevated situation with... more
