A beautiful hotel set in beautiful Sorrento. We found the hotel very contemporary in decor and to a very high standard. We WOULD NOT however recommend driving in Sorrento, we hired a car but only drove to the hotel then decided our lives were too important and wouldn't risk it by attempting to explore on our own by car!
The hotel is set quite high up and would possibly be a problem for those with walking difficulties. We found it a pleasant walk into the centre and good exercise to burn off the amazing food served at the Hilton Sorrento Palace. There was exceptional choice with excellent waiter service overlooking the Bay of Naples, very romantic. Also it was fabulous for vegetarians as they had a separate large menu and the staff were very accommodating.
We will definitely be coming back and will be upgrading to the executive suite.

My family and I stayed in the Sorrento Palace for 10 nights. We imagined that the hotel being part of the Hilton group would be of a very good standard. Well maybe we expected too much but the hotel was more of a Posh travel Inn rather than a member of the Hilton chain.
Our troubles started early on our first morning. At 8.00am sharp the chamber maid would gather on their given floors and rather than talk to each other they seemed to shout. This was not helped by the, what appeared to be cheap carpet in the corridors. Every noise was transferred through into the rooms. Our room was classed as a family room and was of a good standard. My one concern was that the safe was in the mini bar which was on wheels.....very handy for a quick get away.
The service in the bar was very good, although we had to wait on average about 15-20 minutes for our drinks. The down fall of the bar were the prices. £6.00 for a beer. Wine was a lot cheaper and was very good.
The main restaurant was very busy. My family ordered various items from the menu including beef Sorrentina, which turned out to be a burger. When our dishes came we got 2 portions of veal which we did not order. The waiter continually disagreed and argued that we had order the veal.
Sorrento is worth visiting but from a hotel in the town.
Overall the Hotel is OK, but we were disappointed by the continued poor attitude of the Italian staff.

We've recently came back from our honeymoon here. I've never ever written a review before but felt compelled to with this one. We thought the hotel and everything about it was superb. We were treat like king and queen from the moment we stepped off the coach, we wanted for nothing. We are both very fussy eaters and think all food abroad tastes 'foreign' -but here it was like eating in the most top class restaurant everynight. The food was absolutley outstanding! We had all sorts of beautiful fish meats cheeses deserts. You get 4 courses, a cold starter, then a pasta dish i.e risotto (you can easily be full off this alone!) then the main course which is usually a meat i.e Steak, swordfish, seabass, veal, with veg salad etc, then any desert you want almost! Wine list is incredible, about 500 to choose from, you could get a good bottle of rose from 18euro, right up to prestige white wine at 560euro. Breakfast! Amazing! fresh orange is made with oranges you put in yourself, an egg station where staff make you any kind of omlettes/ eggs you want. Then another makes you any kind of pancaakes/waffles/donuts all with nutella, sryps, jams etc. This is on top of all your bog standard breakfast stuff. The staff here could not do enough for you, once you were anywhere near the front door someone was stood there opening it for you, same with reception, before they could see you they would be staanding waiting to deal with you. Hotel is immaculate, pools lovely, can aalways get a lounger, lovely gardens if you want some quiet to sunbathe, linen changed everyday, towels robes and beach towels provided. 10 min downhill stroll to Sorrento (We had our 4 moth old baby with us and managed fine both ways with buggy). The deco is first class. We went to capri, took the hydrojet ourselves from the marina (15 min from hotel). Also we took the train to the ruins of Pompei from Sorrento, only cost 3euro and took you direct! We had the times of our lives here and will definatley be returning to this and now other Hilton resorts. The staff were all lovely with our baby as was the case with all the Italians, we found them all very friendly and helpful. It did cost a fortune but it was worth every single penny, makes your hard work all year round worth it when this is a reward! If you haven't gathered already by this -we couldn't reccomend it enough!!! :-)
