Very pleased with El Guarapo all in all. Great location in a quiet street. Spotless pool with very well maintained gardens. On site restaurant always busy in the evening as the food is spot on. Basic but clean spacious apartments. One small gripe I had was even though we... more

When we checked in at reception we had to wait for our apartment to be cleaned, to our disappointment we had to wait at least an hour and then we had to chase up the cleaner for the keys. The apartment was basic, but great for the money. We wouldn't recommend the... more

We had a great time at El Guarapo. The apartment was large and decently equipped and decorated. The pool is great and the poolside bar does some fantastic food. The apartments are not brand new, but they are acceptable. They are well situated, being only a couple of mins... more

Nice, clean apartments. Friendly Staff. Just outside the main area of Costa Teguise. 5 Minutes walk to the sea front. The promenade has recently been paved and looks superb. El Guarapo is about 15-20 minutes from the airport. There are plenty of Bars and Restaurants in... more

nice clean appartments
we just returned a few days ago, did read a few reviews on trip advisor and had mixed feelings. please dont, the appartments are spacious, cleaned every other day, pool is well maintained but cold ( ok once you get in). the location of the appartments is brill, a five minute walk or a lovely stroll along the beach that takes you into the resort of costa teguise. loadsmof great bars and eating places, weather was great. not much to do or teenagers, me and my partner would def go back to the el gururapo again, i spoke to alot of people while stayin there and most have been back to the appartments 4/5 times, i think that speaks for itself.
Holiday July 2007
Excellent clean apartments, spacious and well decorated. Great pool bar, which serves good snacks & also meals. We felt really safe, as the complex is surrounded by a wall, and access can only be obtained through reception, or via a gate, which has a coded key pad. Reception is not open 24 hours, but is open for at least a couple of hours each day. Only a 5 minute walk from the beach, and from the town. Would recommend a drink or two in The Snug, which is located in the town square, underneath the bandstand, and also in the Black Bull. We had some fantastic meals, all of which were to a very high standard, and quite cheap. The beaches are very clean, but do get quite busy. Sunbeds and parasols can be hired for 4 Euros.
Cheap, no frills but clean
Placed in apartment by Active Adventures as part of package deal. Very small complex which is very secure in that it is walled and has an electronic gate if reception is closed. Very close to local amenities and very quiet. Very basic rooms with seating area, 2 ring hob, fridge, kettle etc and in our room 2 single beds. TV not good in that there were only 4 channels to watch and you had to pay 1 euro per hour! No toaster etc - but in fairness you could then hire these from the very friendly reception staff. Our room had no hot water on first day which was sorted by turning dial on boiler and smelt very musty in the wardrobe area. Friends room had cockroaches but we never saw any. Cleaners came in about evry other day etc. Overall a friendly budget complex in a good position - 5 mins from central Costa Teguise. Just don't expect any frills and give up TV for a week! Lazy Hols in the Sun
We came back from our holiday in Costa Teguise just a few days ago, and spent the week at the El Guarapo Apartments. The Apartment was a good size, with an L-shaped sitting area, kitchenette (complete with dining table!) seperate bed room and a large bath / shower room. There was a rather expensive one euro and hour satellite TV in our room, no air con but we had a nice balcony and everything was clean and welcoming. Toaster, Microwave, Kettle all worked. El Guarapo is an attractive, well kept establishment. The swimming pool wasnt huge but there was enough room (and loungers) to lounge round the pool. Antonio (who runs the Pool Bar) was lovely and really hospitable. The 3 local black and white cats are a delight and quite happy to leave you alone (unless you are an avid cat fan like my partner!) Reception is an informal affair, mainly staffed by a guy who seems to be lacking motivation but everything got done as requested, none the less! The Apartments were a nice lazy ten minute stroll away- along the promenade to the main food and shopping area, but there was a five minute shortcut. We liked Costa Teguise - loads of good returants, Coffee and Cream Bisto, Big Erik's, The Hennessay Bar and some great shops (everyone got almost tasteful souveneirs!) Prices were generally very low. The beaches were pretty and tidy and you can spend hours watching the daring Trainee Wind Surfers!
great value
stayed here in january 2007. loved it. quiet location but near everything you could want. friendly, helpfull staff. apartments may be a little dated but it is so cheap to stay there. to be honest you don't come on holiday to stay indoors all day do you? or do you? we are going back in november.
El Guarapo excellent stay
We wanted a cheap week away in the sun and this looked just the thing...and the best thing was it was!! Firstly the apartments were spacious clean and had everything you could want. These apartments were quiet and really just a base however with so many restaurants and bars within in walking distance it was ideal. Dont rely on the swimming pool though it's freezing even when it's hot the pool is still too cold!! haha! I booked this break through on thebeach holidays and managed to get a good deal on a local flight and the accomodation so would highly recomment. Just so you know.....go out of the apartments and take a left across a grassy area and hey presto your in the hub of the town... We loved Hennesseys for football and drinks.....and Dickens for cocktails and food well this was lovely...didn't have a bad meal breakfast right on the front a must!! Thank you El Guarapo!!
For teens
I was 17 when i stayed here and can tell you that it's not just a good place to stay for adults. They are very family orientated and there is a huge amount to do around the hotel. Or, if you just fancy relaxing, there are free sun loungers around the pool and a permenant cool breeze if you don't like it too hot. All round good holiday.
We will definitely go back!!!
We spent 2 weeks at El Guarapo with friends that have been there 3 times before. The apartments are spacious and clean, the pool is clean although some of the older sunbeds could do with replacing (there are plenty to go round). Antonio’s food is excellent (his lamb is a must!!) he will happily cook you anything not on his menu if you give him a bit of notice and the prices are excellent too!! Overall the complex is quiet – just what we wanted and it is only a 5 min walk into town where there are loads of good places to eat. We will definitely be going back!!!
Beware
I'd strongly advise that you avoid this place. You need to know that staff are available for only a few hours per week, and the rest of the time the front door is locked. The so-called out of hours "emergency" phone number didn't work for me coz their mobile had been switched off!! God only knows what would happen if there was a fire or some major emergency. Three of us arrived at around 11pm, and had to spend an unpleasant night sleeping on sun loungers by the pool. All we got was a cursory "sorry" from the receptionist. No compensation, no refund for the night. The manager spent all week avoiding us. Go somewhere else!
fantastic
We've stayed at Guarapo 5 times now - love it. We're not the only ones there are 'regulars' who go at certain time of the year so it's like meeting old friends. Good position as it's just out of town so quiet at night but near enough to have a good time, so more suited to singles/adults, bit too quiet for families. Well maintained and secure, clean well equipped apartments, great poolside bar/restaurant Antonio does excellent food (even the locals come to eat there) good prices. Anna on reception very helpful and a lovely lady, all staff are friendly. Can't wait to go again!
