Very pleased with El Guarapo all in all. Great location in a quiet street. Spotless pool with very well maintained gardens. On site restaurant always busy in the evening as the food is spot on.
Basic but clean spacious apartments. One small gripe I had was even though we had a ground floor apartment which is ideal with a 3 year old, the patio area was wide open for him to run off to the pool area so we couldn't really sit outside. The ground floor apartments could do with small gates on for this reason.
Another small niggle was that we paid 20 euros for the tv but the channels were not the ones advertised in their booklet.
Safe quite pricy at 16 euros but necessary.
On our last day we had to be out of the rooms for 12 and were only being picked up at 5. We asked to pay for a room or keep ours but this was declined by reception as "busy and full" which was fair enough. Only then for Antonio to offer us our key back at around 4pm?????
Too late then. We would not have had to walk around in the scorching hear and little one could have had a sleep.
As for the resort, loads of eating places and some lovely beaches.
Great for families and couples looking for relaxation in the sun in November.

Just come back from a very relaxing break in Costa Teguise. First time staying at these apartments. Very clean. Staff friendly. Be warned that if you arrive on a Saturday as we did, then reception is closed! Luckily a couple passing directed us to a green door that opened into the pool and bar area and told us to look for Antonio who would be able to get us our keys. So all well in the end but not the best of starts to the holiday

We have stayed here many times before but it was my girlfriends first time and she loved it. The apartments are basic but adequate, clean and in a secure complex with beautiful gardens and a very clean pool. You dont go on holiday to stay in a swank room where you would be more inclined to enjoy the relaxation of your room, getting to see this island is the best thing you can do, enjoy the sun, sea, sangria, beaches and the most amazing views in the world. The pool bar is fantastic for cheap drinks and food, the food provided is of absolute perfection! The staff are friendly and welcoming and quiet and even whilst we were there El Guarapo had employed painters to decorate the apartments on the outside and this in many places would be an obstuction and annoyance but you didnt notice them. If you want basic and idealy placed apartments with shops, bars and restaurants either side, sea views with the beach down the road then i strongly recommend los apartmentos de el guarapo.

Had read other reports so went with an open mind, it was our first time at this end of Teguise it was a quiet area the apartments are in a small secure complex. The apartment was basic but well decorated and clean bit sparce on kitchen equipment but we coped by boiling water in the microwave. The maids visited 3 times in the week but the beds wern't changed I think quite a few of the apartments are privated as quite a lot of people obviously were there yearly. The pool bar was open 10 - 3 and 7 till close in the evening not open tuesday and for some reason closed on saturday last week but we did not use it much the reception is only open limited times too. There is a five minute walk to the nearest beach or a concrete path past a derelict and heavily vandalised former sports centre to the main town and other beaches. All in all i would use the apartments again, but a safe is a must (20 euros) our apartment was ground floor an had trainer prints on the window ledge. As for Teguise it is my favorite place in the Canaries try Hammys for good food and Number One (La Cucaracha beach) for a good place to people watch and enjoy a cocktail, great staff (cheers Carlos) and look out for Juan and the Man at the Lighthouse retaurant and bar ..what a guitar player.

When we checked in at reception we had to wait for our apartment to be cleaned, to our disappointment we had to wait at least an hour and then we had to chase up the cleaner for the keys.
The apartment was basic, but great for the money. We wouldn't recommend the apartments to families with young children as all the light switches, and sockets were easily accessible to my young toddler, and son and the taps belted out scalding hot water. There's nothing for them to do at the complex and the pool is un-guarded.
In the one bedroom ground floor apartment we rented the bedroom had two single beds and there was a small sofa bed in the living area.
The bathroom had a bath with a shower but the hot water didn't last for very long- half a bath or a short showers worth. Also there was a shower screen but it was pointless it even being there, as it wouldn't stay in the place you put it, so the bathroom floor would be like a swimming pool, very dangerous after.
The view out of the bedroom was a huge cactus and a derelict gym.The kitchenette had an electric hob, sink fridge freezer, and kettle. We had to ask for a toaster and were told that they were "out of toasters".
The living area had a TV. The TV cost a euro for about an hour but didn't work. We had a sun terrace and our's was a great sun trap.

The apartments are arranged around a pool and in lovely gardens. When we were there, there were red flowers everywhere- be careful not to brush against them as the pollen stains.
The pool has no life guard and is icy cold, so we were put off using it, but it was exceptionally clean and well maintained like the gardens.
I would recommend using the onsite restaurant as the food is great, and very well priced.
The very friendly owner, Antonio will cook anything you request off the menu at a days notice. You can also take the food to your apartment if you wish what was very convenient. There is also a children’s menu.
The reception is only open at certain times and even when it is the receptionist doesn't seem very eager to help. You can rent a safe or an iron but I thought it was very expensive to do so. You can also use the internet but like the TV in the apartment you have to use the coin meter.
The apartment complex couldn't be situated in a better place, the shops are very close by so are the bus stops. The beach is just at the bottom of the road.
The local beaches are beautiful.
The best place to eat in Lanzarote is at Coffee and Cream, they have an extensive menu, and the food is fantastic. The owners are so welcoming and friendly.
I would recommend you also take the free bus to the Rancho Texas Park my kids loved it.

When we first arrived it looked better than we expected. We had to wait for a while for our apartment to be cleaned. The apartments, are situated in beautiful gardens and around the very clean pool.
We had a one bedroom apartment and a cot was provided for our daughter 17months. The apartment had a nice little living area with a sofa bed tv, what you have to put in one euro for about an hour. The sound on our tv didn't work properly. There was also a little kitchen area with a fridge freezer, microwave, two electric hobs. The cupboards have all the basics eg cutlery, plates etc, all very clean. Bedroom had two small single beds and a large wardrobe.
The bathroom had a bath with a dodgy shower- pipe on it always got twisted, the shower screen wouldn't stay in place so the floor would get very wet, and the boiler, situated in the kitchen cupboard would only provide enough hot water for a very short shower. WARNING, the water is extremely hot, if you have children keep them away from tap.
I would not recommend the apartments for people with young children. Light switches are very low, both of my children could reach them. My children were constantly slipping over on tiled floors. Also in the living area there is a coffee table and tv stand with very sharp corners.
The pool was too cold. There's nothing for children to do in the apartment complex.
In the complex there is a little bar/restaurant run by Antonio and the food there is lovely and he also does a childrens menu, prices are really cheap. If you want something that isn't on the menu Antonio will cook it for you at a days notice.
Outside the apartments complex at the bottom of the road is one of the beautiful beaches. The Spar is very near by but is quite expensive. Although their fresh cooked meat from behind the counter is cheap and they do fresh baguettes.

Our favourite place to eat was a place called Coffee and Cream the food there was the best in Lanzarote and the hosts and staff were so friendly. Children are more than welcome here with a great childrens menu.

We had a great time at El Guarapo. The apartment was large and decently equipped and decorated. The pool is great and the poolside bar does some fantastic food.
The apartments are not brand new, but they are acceptable. They are well situated, being only a couple of mins from the beach and the main centre of Costa Tequiese. There are some excellent restaurants within a couple of minutes, in any direction. The reception can book any trips you may wish to take and will even book you a taxi for your return to the airport, if travelling independently.
We had these apartments recommended by a friend who lives in the area and we would recommend them to anyone.
Enjoy.

Sep 2007, Mr Land

Have visited Costa Teguise about 12 times and stayed at El Guarapo 9 times - we're staying again this November. The complex is small and quiet, very clean and secure.

The pool is maintained regularly and very refreshing, the apartments are comfortable and clean.
It's just far enough out of town to be quiet but close enough to have a good night out. The restaurant serves excellent food (especially the steak and the garlic prawns) provided by Antonio so it's quite busy but worth waiting for, it's used by some locals which is a good recommendation.
Internet access in reception and Hanah very helpful with ordering taxi's etc.
There's a market on a Friday night (from 6pm) in the Pueblo de Marinero (the market square) about a 5 minute walk into town, which is worth visiting as you can have a 'mooch' then stop off for a drink or cocktail at one of the bars or have a meal.
Great beaches, shops and restaurants/bars only a short walk away. Promenade walk into town is very enjoyable with lovely sea views. Plenty of excursions to the Volcano to the south or north to the cactus gardens/caves.

Sep 2005, Mr I Moffett

Nice, clean apartments. Friendly Staff. Just outside the main area of Costa Teguise. 5 Minutes walk to the sea front. The promenade has recently been paved and looks superb. El Guarapo is about 15-20 minutes from the airport. There are plenty of Bars and Restaurants in Costa Teguise and about 3 just around the corner from the apartments, which were very nice and over looked the bay.
The Island of Lanzarote is beautiful, there was a cool wind everyday we were there, but with the sun beating down it was a welcome breeze.
El Guarapo Apartments are away from the crowds and are peaceful. Ideal for a family holiday. There is a large swimming pool which was cleaned daily, the rooms are spacious and were cleaned twice a week. There is also internet access in reception. The Apartment has a dining area, unfortunately we didn’t get chance to eat there but it was busy each night.
El Guarapo is a nice place to spend a week or two. There is plenty to do (eating out, wind surfing, shopping) and plenty to see (go on a sightseeing tour, visit the volcanic grill, visit Cesar Manrique's home) and being away from the main tourist place (Player Del Carmen) was a bonus too.
