" Not five star "
Submitted By: Mr D DalalTo begin with the hotel is DEFINETLY not five star, three star if we're being generous and this was the general consensus of people staying at the hotel. The staff didn't seem to friendly and they didn't really show any urgency when asked to do something. For example, BBC world news wasn't working in our room so I asked reception to send someone to fix it, and the man said he would do so. Five hours laters, still no BBC world news. After a complaint, they send someone within 15 minutes and it turned out to be a two minute job. To be honest they need a kick up the backside to get anything done for you.
The Decor of the hotel is quite awful. Modernisation is a must. The carpets are old and dirty and stained, and the lamps and lampshades are quite terrible and form quite a health hazard. Our balcony didn't have adequate safety and if that room was given to someone with a small child, then there would definetly have been an accident.
The food, if you're British you definetly wont like it. They cater mainly for Germans and have a small section dedicated to chips, pizza, spaghetti and pasta. But I can tell you even for chips and spaghetti lovers it can become quite menotinous two meals a day, for a week.
On the upside there was a BBQ, which was quite good so you could always take something from there (not if your a vegetarian of course).
Which leads me to my next point, just like the BBQ everything is really secluded within the hotel. Not until three days into my holiday did I find out that there was a second pool. And another gentleman that was staying in the hotel said he'd been there 10 days and only on the 9th day he found out there was a BBQ. Information is incredibly lacking.
On the upside there are a few good points:
- The rooms are clean and spacious. Cleaners come everyday and they are really polite.
- The hotel is in a prime location, near to the beach, marina and local shops.
- The waiters in the restaurant work really hard and serve drinks and clear your table quickly.

Submitted By: Mrs A WilsonYes the germans are rude and miserable, but that is not the hotels fault. I read one review where the staff were rude to the English. We found they could not have been friendlier. We always got big waves and smiles. They were fantastic with the children. My daughter celebrated her 3rd birthday whilst we were there. The staff were amazing, she had a cake made which the entertainment team paraded around the restaurant and sung happy birthday to her and a specially decorated table was laid for us. She felt like a princess. One of the waiters even bought her a teddy.
The food was decent enough, yes it was repetative at times but that is what happens with all inclusive in my view when you are catering for so many people. The drinks were good, i will agree small drinks but its all inclusive go and get another one. Just beware of the spirits in the bar near the entertainment stage, they were lethal you only needed 1.
The rooms were spacious and cleaned every day with added flowers and the bedding made in special designs.
The pools were big and clean, also good size indoor pool which was good for the little ones to escape the midday sun.
We was not to keen on venturing out to the shops due to the hagglers on the street but again that was not the hotels fault, that is the locals way of making money. We just stayed clear. The hotel had everything we needed.
We would definately go back to this hotel if we go to Tunisia again, we do like to travel around though.
Hope this is helpful

Submitted By: Mrs C Brightwas a bit worried as to what we would find
the cleanliness of the rooms was good
The hotel was full of Germans who were treated like Gods
The Brits were treated as second class citizens .
The waiters were all after the woman to take them out for meals
I was very unfortunate to become ill on the very first day
I had a tummy upset which was quite bad the doctor said i should go to the clinic
I spent three days there.
While i was there the med Rep Shirley came to see me she was brilliant a very
caring lady Its nice to no that some reps do over and above what they are paid for.
Now to a warning when we went shopping in the shops we were called English [--]
if we did not buy anything.
Also youths walk about with knives .We saw one German man with a camera on his
shoulder four youths seperated him from his wife and cut his camers from him .He had no idea it had happend.
I will not be going back to Tunisia have been there four times now
Just do not feel welcome as an English person anymore.
Prehaps they should realise we are there bread and butter treat us better or pay the price

Submitted By: Miss AJ AReasonable food -good variety and not bad for vegetarians-always a pasta dish to fall back on but lots of unidentifiable food made from previous days left overs. Meat-eaters found chicken sometimes pink in middle and in common with many previous reviewers, all of our group developed signs of gastroenteritis during our stay, though this could have been due to either contaminated food or water (there is a smell of raw sewage around the resort, particularly on the sea front).
All inclusive drinks – one type of beer brewed in hotel. Very sweet tasting and takes an amusingly long time to pour one glass as extremely frothy. Wine not the best but drinkable. Cocktails provided during happy hour-luminous colour (as with all soft drinks) and poured from jugs that were visibly dirty.
Pool area very pleasant, great weather for October and plenty of sun loungers etc. Pool quite nice though cold, and rusty nails sticking out of a dome like structure in the middle of the pool – not really an issue for us, but not ideal for those with children. We could have done without the daily pool-side hassle from men trying to sell various day trips/excursions, some of whom angry when their offers were politely declined.
Staff- those in restaurant and bar gave prompt friendly service. Had some issues with impolite reception staff – one in particular who refused to return what we had been assured was a “deposit” for hiring beach towels. This receptionist’s favourite English phrase “it’s not my problem” seemed odd in 5* hotel – but we heard it several times most notably when our taxi for return airport transfer (pre-booked and pre-paid through reception) arrived almost 1 hour late, leaving us at risk of missing out flight home. We suspected this may have been deliberately delayed after the beach towels discussion but were reluctant to hire an alternative taxi since we had already paid for the hotel-arranged taxi and knew that there was no chance of getting a refund.
I don’t regret going to Yasmine Beach Hotel because the weather was great and I was in the company of good friends however I won’t be making a return trip and if you haven’t already booked I would advise going elsewhere.

Submitted By: Mrs Jo LeungHowever, I don’t know where the people stayed that were not happy because it doesn’t seem to be the same place as we were. We loved it, the staff were always smiling, always say hello, always helpful and can’t do enough for you.
It isn’t a 5 star, but Med Hotels class it as a 4 star. It is clean and tidy; we had clean towels every day.
The food is good with loads of choice, the wine was good, the local spirits were an acquired taste, and the beer was ok.
The location is excellent, right on the beach with shops and cafe bars on your doorstop. We had a sea view room, and the view was stunning. A bit noisy on Fri and Sat night as the Bar below played live music, but was still ok.
We were a mixed age group ranging from 60 - 2 and all of us really enjoyed it. We didn’t see any of the problems that other people have said. Don’t be put off, it’s great.
Would definitely go back.

Submitted By: Miss J LeungThe rooms were very clean; we had clean towels and bed sheets every day. You have a choice of either a pool or beach view. We did not have any problems at all with the rooms
The staff were very nice, did not have any nonsense off them. They are very friendly and very good with children. The animation tried their best to entertain the kids and did a good job. It might not be what you would expect in England but you can trust them and your children will enjoy it. If you tip the staff they will look after you more than other people.
There are 3 swimming pools. There are 2 on floor 0. An indoor pool and a "garden pool". The garden pool is straight through the wooden doors by reception. The garden pool is the best. At the garden pool there is a bar and you can have lunch there like pizza and chips. If you cannot find it then the staff will be more than happy to show you if you ask.
The hotel beach is very nice. You can go paragliding or on jet skis and all there. There is a bar but only the soft drinks are all inclusive, you have to pay for the beer. And again the staff there is very friendly.
A few of us experienced bad stomachs but we put that down to a change of weather and food.
The food there is lovely. You have a wide variation to choose from and is changed every day. They have a BBQ and Tunisian specialities at dinner times. The food is great at breakfast, lunch and dinner. Don’t know how anyone can complain.
I stayed for two weeks and still didn’t find it long enough
If you do decide to stay here, hope you enjoy it.

Submitted By: Miss N KieftWe also tried out the spa treatments and for £70, - we had 9 treatments. Where else can you find this?
We had a blast, fantastic food, hot weather, 3 pools, private beach, and friendly staff!
I can truly recommend this hotel.

Submitted By: Ms G CrawfordHowever, I am very pleased to say that my experience was totally different to the ones which I have read about.
My room was fine. Not 5 stars, but it was clean; I had clean towels every day, shower gel and shampoo. I didn't have to ask for a thing!
The food was different every day and the desserts were fantastic.
The mini club was available from 10-12 and 3-5. What's wrong with that? Leaving my child in their hands was totally safe.
Kyo, who ran the mini club, was a lovely guy. He did his best to keep them entertained, but obviously didn't have any budget to do what you might expect a holiday club to do in the UK.
What else can I say? The staff were all very charming. Perhaps as a man, you may have been treated differently, but I certainly didn't witness any rudeness, groping or fights.
There was evening entertainment every night. Might not suit everyone's taste, but you can't please everyone.
Ok, so it may not have been a 5* hotel, as advertised, but you won't get 5* and pay so little more!
I wouldn't go there again because I like to go to different places, but if you want a quick, cheap get-away (1 week is enough, 2 weeks would bore me), then I would recommend it.

Submitted By: Dr Sb HabibThe hotel carpets are filthy and old where ever you are. Staff are extremely unhelpful even though I speak their language so no communication barrier.
Rooms are dirty with old furniture and you have to ask for shampoo and soap every day. Towels are so old that they have lost their original white colour and smoothness. Instead they are grey and rough.
We have stayed in a junior suite which is supposed to be the best room, infact it was as bad as the other rooms.
Meals are miserable, badly prepared and more or less look like meals on wheels.
There is no internet service and you have to beg the rude receptionist to allow you and view your email in the managers office not more than 10minutes.
In the end my patience run extremely short and I went down and listed my complaints to the manager who was only prepared to give me a deaf ear and did nothing.
This was one and last visit to this hotel and I sincerely advice people not to use this hotel.
When I booked the holiday with On the beach holidays tour operator, I was told this is one of the best hotel.
I have been too many places at least 2-3 times a year and I have never been disappointed as I am now.
Many thanks for listening.
" We were sold the holiday as a 5*... "
Submitted By: Mrs S MurtaghThe hotel reception and some other staff were rude and unhelpful. The accommodation was tired and basic.
The kids club we expected was nonexistent until a few complained and they managed 2 hours randomly each day. Unless you were German or Italian then you had a whole day of entertainment. The evening entertainment was poor.
The restaurant served luke warm food that after two weeks became very repetitive.
The indoor pool is humid, dark and small.
No one said when we booked the holiday that the Summer season starts around May, and that most of the facilities offered on the all inclusive would not be available until that point.
I am glad to be home!

I would really recommended this hotel to anyone planing to visit Tunis, Hammamet.
Next year I am definitely going there, again.
