Yasmine Beach Hotel Reviews
" Excellent value for money, great... "
Submitted By: Mr C MarsdenThe 5 star standard wouldn't apply in the UK - probably a 4 would be more appropriate - but for what we got for the price I couldn't complain. There were lots of foods to chose from, plenty of fresh salads and fruit, the only letdown was the cooked breakfast. Still, there were cereals, toast, bread and fruit instead.
The staff were very friendly, and the animators made a big effort with us and our kids. Bits of the hotel could do with refurbishment, but there were some really nice areas too. We probably won't go back, but then we rarely go anywhere twice no matter how good.
Overall, I'd say it was good for the price, just one final point: give the bar staff a dinar tip (40p), and you'll get served double-quick next time you go up for a drink.

Submitted By: fmillyThe hotel is fantastic, the rooms are clean and the maid service is excellent.
Food:
If you want fish and chips then go to Whibty, or Skegness. You can't honestly think that if you go abroad that every hotel is going to cater for every single taste? They have plenty for everyone.
Rooms:
If you can complain about the rooms then you definitely need your eyes testing, especially with the views that you get, there breath taking.
All inclusive:
All inclusive hotels in Europe and Africa are not the same as Caribbean hotels. In future if you are booking with Med hotels then read the very top of the description page. It tells you what standard of All inclusive you will be getting, if you want Caribbean standard then book a GOLD!!!
If you ever decide to go to Tunisia again, please bare in mind that International drinks and cocktails are NOT CHEAP, even outside of the hotels. If you want to get drunk stick to beer. If you don't like the food in the hotel, then eat out. Food is really good and really cheap.
Anyone would think that most of these people only go on holiday to complain. Your holiday is what you make it. Enjoy all the best things that the hotel and country has to offer.
People who right reviews have nothing better to do with there time then complain and make people be scared about their holiday. The only reason I am writing this is because I'm sick of people moaning. Get a life!!
The Yasmine Beach is great, and the fact you got all the beer in the world and the boiling hot weather makes it even better, certainly beats England even if the hotel doesn't meet all of your needs.
If you’re planning on going to the Yasmine beach have a lovely holiday and STOP READING BAD REVIEWS! MAKE UP YOUR OWN MIND.

Submitted By: Mr W K RiddifordThere were in excess of 1000 guests at the hotel when we were there and although breakfasts were excellent, the evening meals left a deal to be desired - nothing wrong with the food - just the 'institutionalised' way in which it was presented. Our room was spacious and had all of the mod cons associated with a 5* hotel. Maid service was very good, and (although we didn't use it) room service in general was available 24/7.
The spa element of the hotel was a novel change for us, and represented excellent value when compared to the U.K. equivalent. Availability of excursions - either through the hotel or by hiring a local driver and guide - was first rate. For an 'off the peg el-cheapo' this holiday suited us admirably.

Submitted By: Mr A MilnerOn arrival there were no hangers in our wardrobe but a phone call to reception had a response within 5 minutes. We found the pillows hard and uncomfortable - may be worth cramming a soft pillow into your suitcase! We also found our travel kettle useful as there are no tea/coffee making facilities - the fridge in our room didn't work. It was difficult to read in the room because the lighting is inadequate. The piped music in the public areas is very repetitive - Eagles fans should be OK though!
We thought the food was adequate - always plenty of choice - we had no tummy problems. The New Year's Eve Gala dinner was excellent - the delicious meal was very French which didn't suit some of the British guests. My wife had several sessions in the relaxation suite which she judged to be very good value. Maybe the biggest problem is the all inclusive drinks - very restricted choice and poor quality. The beer tastes like watered down Kaliber and the wine is quite rough. We splashed out on 2 G & Ts one evening and they cost £10!!

Submitted By: Mrs C.A. MarshHaving arrived at the hotel in the afternoon we were shown to the reception area to check in.
We decided to go for a drink & food only to be told we would after wait until 1600hrs for cakes.
After looking around the hotel which had a fusty smell to it we found the seats in the reception area & bar not very clean.
The evening meal & breakfast resembled a school lunch time with people pushing for food.
The bar was open until midnight but we were told only wine & beer after 2300hrs.
Saw the Med Hotel rep the next day & moved hotels where we enjoyed the rest of our holiday as did 20 other people.
THIS IS NOT A 5 STAR HOTEL MORE LIKE 2/3 STAR.

Submitted By: Miss P TriggsWe arrived at the hotel and the staff were very friendly and gave us a welcome drink, bit pushy on the tips but good sense of humour and spoke pretty good English.
The hotel itself and rooms are very clean, the maids come around every day and supply clean towels and bed sheets, no complaints at all about the cleanliness!
The food......The one reason that I wouldn't go back to Yasmine Beach Hotel again. It was awful, food was never hot, you didn't know what you were eating half the time. I lived off salad for most of the week that I was there. Definitely no point going All Inclusive. Everything else about this holiday was brilliant, you can relax by either of the 3 pools and have a relaxing break, but wouldn't advise to eat in the hotel.

The shop inside hotel sells gold that isn't, holiday companions bought a brass bracelet for several £100s ,told by a keen eyed onlooker to check it. The police were called and the shop manager arrested, money was via credit card so was difficult get it back.

Supposed to be 5*,its a joke, needs a shut down, hasn't been touched in six years. 5* guests had to collect their own drinks at bar ,tablecloths dirty. Main pool ok but try and get waiter service outside, we were laughed at when we asked for service.

This is a very dark hotel , passage to rooms after 2300hrs was a trip in the dark, poor ,gang show like magician and Tunisian night? complete with guests as stagehands, this is a hotel dying on its feet ,STAY CLEAR. also the brewery onsite is extra even if you’re A.I.
" Sorry what hotel did you wingers go... "
Submitted By: HannahWe arrived at 11.30pm, they had waiters waiting in the restaurant for us. They brought the 6 of us dinner and wine. They could not have been more well coming to us.
The rooms were large, with a large balcony with table & chairs. We had the most amazing view of the beach.
The hotel has three large pools, 2 outdoor, 1 indoor. There seem to be so many bars including on the beach, yet only 2 were open when we were there, as it is not summer season.
The evening entertainment is pretty much aimed at the Germans and Italians, but because we were all willing to get involved they ended up doing loads of it in English(to be fair there was only about 10 Brits, the rest were German & Italian- so doing the entertainment in their language is understandable). Anyway if you want English entertainment, go to Butlins!
As for the food, there was so much! And if there really isn’t anything you like, they always did salads and pastas. The waiters are great, they can’t do enough for you. Some of our friends gave one of the waiters a 2 Dinar (approx. 90p) tip at the start of the week, and he always served them first and got them large glasses instead of the small AI ones (worth trying!).
The AI bar is quite limited, this didn’t bother us at all as all I drank was white & rose wine, and my partner drank the beer. Some of the Brits we met out there had been to Tunisia 5 times, and came across this alot, so they had brought a couple of bottles of spirits at the duty free on the way out - again, worth doing.
The relaxation centre is absolutely amazing, make sure you get them to give you the full tour, we had a couple of treatments, all fantastic.
While we were there, we wanted to watch the football. The nicest place we went, was the Lella Baya, a hotel just along from ours. This hotel was truly breathtaking, with an absolutely HUGE screen showing football, and another showing soaps!
And if you feel the need for a full English while your away, there is an Irish bar in the medina. We ate dinner there on our last night but didn’t get to try out the breakie!

Submitted By: Mr SG TaylorWe arrived at 11.30pm there was a porter who took the luggage to the room and we were provide with food and drink.
OK its not a 5 star probably a 3. However I could find no faults with our room it was kept very clean by the maid, beds made every day and clean towels. I found the rest of the hotel to be kept clean.
There are in fact 3 swimming pools one indoors and 2 outdoors. With regards to Mr Buntings comment 5 people in the pool and it was full- rubbish. Both outdoor pools are a fair size and very clean and are checked daily.
The staff are also very friendly.
The all inclusive drinks are restricted to beer which I drank all week and found fine, wine , soft drinks, tea and coffee and 3 local spirits.
The food I did not like but I am fussy although my wife found something she liked most days. Its mainly Tunisian cuisine.
Eat at the snack bar lunchtimes by the outside pool at the side of the hotel they serve pizzas, chips, fish, burgers, spaghetti and chicken rolls and is included in the all inclusive.
I agree with Mr Palmer and will take reviews with a pinch of salt in future as my wife and I had an enjoyable week.

Submitted By: Mrs A RolphWhen we arrived there was no reservation so they managed to put us in a room with a lovely view of the sea but not enough room for four beds. We managed with this room for three days when they then moved us to another room with more space. Rooms were cleaned everyday not always very well but then its no different in the English hotels or any other place I have stayed at. This hotel is not a 5 star probably a 2/3 star.
The staff at Yasmine were very friendly but the food was the problem, there was not a lot that my children or I could eat. My husband tried most things but never knew what he was eating he just guessed.
We were not sure about the pools, we spent most of our time there but was a little worried about how clean they were.
My husband and I both had upset tummies but could not put that down to the food as we both ate different things.
Entertainment was provided by the tour operators rather than the hotel so it was directed at the their customers, Italians and Germans.
I would not recommend this hotel to anyone unless you were German or Italian.
The resort of Yasmine is still evolving and will be very nice in about 2-3 years when all the hotels are open, at the moment it is very quiet other than the Medina which is where most people hang out in an evening. The Harbour is very nice and you can sit and dream which boat would be yours when you win the lottery.
My family and I survived this holiday without to many problems but I can understand the other people’s reviews and how upset they were. I think though that a holiday is what you make of it. We went for a cheap holiday and that is what we got.
" Yasmine Beach Hotel absolute... "
Submitted By: Mr P LovelockWent to this hotel for our anniversary and it was dire from start to finish.
The corridors are dark with little or no natural light coming in and you get the odd 15 watt light bulb illuminating a whole corridor.
The whole place is themed to resemble being inside a cave and from that point of view, it works.
We changed rooms three times trying to find some thing half decent that was at least a 3 star.
The food was inedible even for Tunisian cuisine so we opted to eat out each day despite the fact that we were paying for all inclusive.
The range of drinks is non existent and really tasteless and we were told this is Tunisian beer and spirits which was rubbish as we had and paid for the same “labelled” drinks in a bar down the road and they were ok.
There is a brewery on site which you have to pay for but the prices vary according to the mood of the waiters and the beer is not much better.
The entertainment is geared toward the Germans and Italians and nothing is done in English so you cannot even play bingo and even then my eight year old could do better.
The swimming pools are disgusting and small and while we were there we heard reports of several cases of bad stomachs although we don’t know if this was the stagnant smell from the water or the way the food is handled and under cooked but we suspect it was the food.
Loads of people transferred during our stay and the rep “Mohamed” only appeared once as he was to frightened to come in again as several customers were after his blood.
My wife and I have the good fortune to holiday at least twice a year and have been all over the world on full board, half board; self catering on every thing from a one star apartment to real five star hotels and Yasmine Beach should not really be rated.
If you have kids the only attention they will get is the sort of attention that is unwanted from the waiters. We did witness one customer knock out one of the waiters (to a joyous round of applause) as he had groped a nine year old kid. Was he sacked for this, NO.
The staff are abusive and unhelpful and it was not surprising that there were regular arguments between customers and staff
Hammamet is ok (we have been twice before) but do not go to this hotel. If you read this review before you go and you are booked into this hotel you would be very wise to change it even if you have to pay a fee.
Although if you booked through Med Hotels or some thing last minute you may as well give up now.
" Yasmine Beach - What can you say... "
Submitted By: Mr P GouldArrived at 01.30 given rooms keys told lift out of use climbed 6 floors opened room door only to find a member of their staff asleep on the bed with TV still on , walked back to reception only to be thrown another room key and told to try that one! I could go on but you have read the other reports, which are true . The best part of this holiday was getting on the plane home .

Safe friendly atmosphere but a lot of bartering required when out shopping. Had to bring prices down to at least a 1/3 of the asking price.
Lots of excursions available and especially the quad biking was great fun.
Food was nice but if you are not willing to try new things then you may be stuck.
