Hilton Al Ain Hotel

Quite simply this was an excellent hotel, I stayed for 5 days in March 2007 with wife and 3 yo daughter. The room was large and contained all the 5* touches you would expect including a large bathroom and nice view of distant hills. The restaurant was very good, especially for breakfast where there was a well planned buffet catering for western and eastern palates. The dinner was also buffet style there but the hotel has at least three other a la carte restaurants and the City is only a £0.50 cab ride away so plenty of choice for eating out. There is also a large 24 hr supermarket withing a ten minute walk. The leisure facilities for children are well maintained and very safe, the hotel was also half empty so it was a very relaxing break. The best part was the outstanding service from each and every member of staff. It was an absolute pleasure to stay in this hotel, We recommend it to all readers!

Spent a fortnight in the UAE in June. Not the best time I hasten to add, but it was cheap - no wonder. The weather was very hot and too humid for me, but this in no way detracted from the great time I had. Started with Dubai - Rotana, the RAK then Al Ain - Hilton Hotels. Had a great time in Dubai and RAK, with trips into Oman. But I have to be honest and say that if the holiday had started with the Hilton Al Ain I would have been desperate to go home. The staff were wonderful, helpful with lots of tips for taxis and shopping etc. The decor in the lobby was lovely indeed. I was booked into a double room, but needed a twin - this was swiftly dealt with. We were on the 3rd floor, along with most of the others in our 'tour'. I had a look at the double room that were open and they looked big and airy and then arrived at my room. It was small, the two single beds were really close together, I had to sit down to let my mother get around the room! The table and ONE chair was right up beside the bed and badly marked and sticky. The bathroom was ok, nothing great, just adequate for the 2 days that we would be spending there. I think I was shocked after spending 5 lovely days in the Hilton in RAK, where are twin room was much larger, 2 queen beds, decor more modern, bathroom pretty decent in size, with bathrobes! After unpacking, we headed down to the pool area to find that a large percentage of the sun loungers where broken and looking very unsafe. There was an aura of neglect about the whole outside space really. We met up with our travel companions for the past 7 days and some were lucky to get the 'better' rooms. I can't be totally negative, apart from the disappointing rooms, the pool area and outside space, the time we spent there was pretty good. As part of our tour, the Hilton took us out on 2 excursions around Al Ain and the guide was fantastic. The food was superb, plenty of it and the hygiene standards were pretty good too. Good shopping for those last minute pressies and the taxis cheap and plentiful. I wouldn't not recommend staying at this hotel, just be warned that some of it needs updating and the twin rooms are on the very small side. Just one more thing to note, we arrived in Dubai and the airport looked stunning - we saw the shopping areas and it was so clean. Don't expect the same from Abu Dhabi airport. A total nightmare. One vendor selling limited refreshments in the main part of the airport. We arrived 4 hours before take off and there was nowhere to sit either, we didnt get to check our bags through till 90 mins before departure. Not that duty free was any better. It was tiny, even though it has a most amazing ceiling! Not many shops - the George Best City Airport is bigger! But no matter where you stay, Al Ain is a beautiful, sprawling city and I look forward to going there again next year. Will I stay at the Hilton? I will look around and see what else is on offer first.

We have just spent a wonderful 12 days at the HIlton Hotel in Al Ain. The weather was marvelous and the hotel was really lovely. Our room was on the top floor (6th) and was nice and big with a king size bed, TV, mini bar, tea/coffee making facilties, a desk chair and an easy chair. There was a nice bathroom with all the usual amenities. We also had a large balcony which went around two sides. The sheets on the bed were changed daily and there was complmentary water every day although the water is safe to drink in UAE. The chocolates on the pillow each evening were a nice touch. We were on half board so we ate in Flavours Restaurant and the food was excellent, plenty of choice with different themes each night. The food was varied and appetising and changed daily. The service in the restaurant was excellent with all the staff making sure we had a really great holiday. All the staff at the hotel were so friendly and helpful. The pool is lovely with plenty of sunbeds and towels provided. We ate at the poolside restaurant at lunch time and again the food was very good with a nice choice on the menue. I often had a salad and they were imaginative and well presented as well as being very enjoyable. Al Ain is a lovely town, clean and safe with excellent road system and block paved pavements and a noticable absence of any litter or graffiti. There is plenty to do if you can tear yourself away from the Hilton's pool side. The coffee shop in the centre of the hotel is a nice place to sit in the evening listening to the pianist. It is an open atrium style with palm trees reaching up nearly to the 6th floor. There is an external glass lift here also. Everywhere is well maintained at the Hilton and guests are made exceptionally welcome. We were very sad to leave and hope to return in the not too distant future. I would not hesitate to recomment this hotel for a wonderful relaxing holiday.

visited this hotel as a package with kuoni. the stay coincided with the start of ramadan which meant eating and drinking were substantially curtailed. however the hotel did its utmost to overcome the local laws and generally nothing was too much trouble for them. attentiveness was first class and food was excellent if a bit repetitive.

Visited Hilton Al Ain 21-28/08/06 as a package with Kuoni. All Inclusive deal which was excellent. Staff in Flavours Restaurant, where all meals taken, were fantastic, as was the food.Nothing too much trouble, very friendly, especially Girish the head waiter. Amida on reception was also worthy of special mention. She also took the group on the organised trips, which were excellent.The hotel itself is 'mature', but was always clean and well kept. The rooms were well appointed, the king size bed excellent. The only 'criticism' is that the hairdryer in the bathroom was outdated. Hilton provide a good product and all the staff were attentive and accomplished in their duties. Planned refurbishment of the Health Club started earlier than notified, so the male sauna/steam room could not be used. That said, it was 46*C out by the pool! The Hilton, and its staff, rightly deserve the highest praise for the service provided. We would definitely return as the package was so well priced. Would highly recommend this hotel.

Myself and my family visited Al Ain on 22/06/2006 for two weeks . We bookedi a plaza suite at the Hilton hotel. The rooms were huge and great value It was very different from Dubai / Abu Dhabi . It was not the humid heat you get in Dubai / Abu dhabi but a dry heat with a light desert wind. The staff at the Hilton could not do enough for us during our stay.. The food was excellent although I was disapointed when we realised the Persian / lebonese restuarant was closed for the summer ( three months) / the chinese was also closed. I was advised the chinese restuarant will not re-open However the Italian Casa Romana and the hotels own restuarant and the Hiltonia sports bar all served excellent food. Pacos is the hotels bar and is used by all the expats who all appeared friendly and helpful to visitors advising of places of interest good food is also served within Pacos which is also reasonabley priced. The hilton has established itself as a place for families where the intercontinental is more for the business traveller or couples without kids. When you are fed up lying by the pool there is sufficent malls nearby to shop. These malls are open to mid night and beyond. Jimi Mall and Al Ain Mall. I had a great time there and would definitely return . My wife enjoyed her stay and the malls . My two boys aged 6 / 10 loved it.

we have just returned from a one week all inclusive vacation at the hilton hotel alain which was an oasis within an oasis. with superb facilities to suit all age groups it was an ideal choice for a chill out week in the sun with temperatures in the mid 40s for the whole week. the hotel had 2 good sized swimming pools, tennis facilities and a 9 hole golf course within the complex if one could summon up the energy to participate. the hotel had 3 excellent restaurants with a wide variety of choices to suit all tastes. al ain was a short taxi ride away and for50p-£1 was worth a visit to the large malls which were open till 1am. further journeys to abu dhabi and dubai were well worth a day trip to and with a bit of bartering with taxi drivers well worth it. finally a huge thanks to all the efficient and excellent staff who made our stay a very memorable one and i am looking forward to retuning here sooner rather than later.

We went to Al Ain for a second holiday to relax and escape the British weather. How lucky we were to have booked the Hilton. The weather was amazing, not a cloud was seen for the whole 7 days. The hotel was lovely, slightly dated compared to the new and flashy hotels in Dubai, but it was incredibly clean with crisp new bed sheets every day. The leisure club, tennis courts and pools kept us occupied if we were feeling more energetic. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful and couldn't do enough for us. In fact all the people we met both in and outside the hotel were some of the nicest people we've met abroad. We were aware that our holiday was booked during Ramadan, so most of the hotel's restaurants were closed. There were still two restaurants and a snack bar to choose from, all served excellent food and service was excellent. The Hotel is located a taxi ride (£1.50) away from the main shopping area and malls, which were amazingly big and open to 2am. We found there was enough sight seeing for a week, in particular the Al Ain Camel Market which is an assault on the senses you cannot imagine. We thoroughly enjoyed our week at the Hilton, we would definitely go back again and would recommend it to anyone.

We have just returned from a week at the Hilton Al Ain, we travelled with the tour operator Travel Collections, the holiday included full board and soft drinks/beer and wine with meals or from Hiltonia leisure club. Although there is very little around the hotel there are two swimming pools, one fun pool and the other a 25 metre lap pool, excellent sports facillities, 9 hole golf course, and if you fancy a change of scene it costs around 3 to 3.50 dirhams for a taxi to take you to the Al Ain Shopping Mall. The hotel bedrooms are adequate, my only criticism is you could do with two easy chairs in the hotel room instead of one. The food is excellent, we ate in Flavours Restaurant it severs mainly International Dishes and the hotel has themed nights. The hotel Staff are very obliging, nothing was too much trouble.

This is not the poss and glitz of Dubai, but is good 4* international standard with a lot of extras. The hotel staff were really helpful and friendly, doing anything you want. They arranged taxi pick ups for us from Dubai, which was really useful as we arrived after midnight and didn't want to run the risk of no taxi drivers being prepared for an hours drive! Breakfast in the hotel is to the usual international hotel buffet standard and for us was included in the price. Facilities wise - good leisure pool for children or lounging plus a 25 metre laned swimming pool, all set in pleasant gardens. Good modern gym with the addition of tennis, squash and golf as well. Restaurant wise - a good international variety, the international buffet at night was approx £10 each, but even cheaper is available in the Tex - Mex (this is used by a lot of ex pats). The persian restaurant comes highly recommended and a suprisingly good Italian. Didn't try the Chinese but as you can see there is plenty of choice. We were there for the first week in January 05 and the place is probaly less than a quarter full, so there are some really cheap deals around. We paid less that £900 each for 8 nights flying out business class (although we did have a 10 hour stop over in Bahrain). In Al Ain itself there isn't a great deal to do, but enough for a few hours away from complete chill out with the parks, museums, Oasis, Markets and slightly further away the Hafeet Mountains and Hot Springs and some Wadi Bashing. We would go back again when we need some where to relax and soak up the good weather.
