Reviews of Macdonald Ardoe House Hotel, Aberdeen, Scotland
Macdonald Ardoe House Hotel, Aberdeen
The Macdonald Ardoe House is a luxurious modern hotel, beautifully crafted from an imposing 19th century mansion house and inspired by the royal residence of Balmoral Castle, a few miles upstream. One of Aberdeen's top hotels, and part of the Macdonald Hotel Group, the Macdonald Ardoe House is a world of relaxation in itself. Yet, surprisingly, such serenity lies only three miles from the centre of the vibrant city of Aberdeen, Scotland.

We visited Aberdeen this year for a long weekend,
The accommodation at the Ardoe House Hotel was exceptional,
it had a lovely olde world feel of grandeur to the place....perfect for romantic breaks.
But was very up to date with modern facilities such as indoor pool, sauna, steam room, Jacuzzi and an extensive fitness suite plus lots of beauty treatments were offered.
The staff were friendly and helpful, and full of advice on where to visit and the best places to eat at.
We enjoyed the countryside setting and as we were only there for a short while we took full advantage of all the facilities at the hotel plus went on some lovely long walks through the grounds.
It’s nice to take a picnic if the weather is looking well, as there are some great outdoor picnic areas where you can take full advantage of the wonderful Scottish views.
On our last day we visited the Kincorth Hill Local Nature Reserve.
Which is beautiful. It boasts extensive areas of gorse scrub, heath land, young coniferous and broadleaved woodland which looked lovely in the winter season.
The site is well sign-posted so you don’t have to worry about getting lost but best of all is that it also offers panoramic views across the city.
We enjoyed our stay and plan to visit again soon.
