Well this was my second time to Tunisia and my girlfriend’s first time. The hotel was everything I was expecting from a 4* hotel.
The hotel gave you a real sense of space, but let me explain. The hotel was full whilst we were there, and we never had to get up early for a sunbed, the restaurant was never heaving, the waiters never kept you waiting. The location of the hotel direct on its own private beach and own gardens gave you a sense of privacy from other hotel's, guest's and beach sellers (which weren't allowed near the sunbeds). The pool is great, swim up bar, jacuzzi and very clean.
As for the food, if you are wanting "English food" then take a holiday in England (or Spain!) Whatever time you went down for evening service the quality of the food available was superb. Every night there was different local cuisine, and if you love couscous they know how to cook it. You have to try a brik, which is a pancake filled with veg and an egg, deep fried - doesn't sound healthy but tastes amazing. All the chefs serving the food in the evening have a real sense of pride in what they are preparing and cooking.
The rooms are very spacious and quiet. We had a room on the top floor over looking the gardens which on the balcony caught the sun in the evenings. As for furniture, more drawers and cupboards than you ever need, quality queen size single's pushed together, fridge with mini bar(will explain that in a minute) TV, air-con, crappy hair dryer and a safe for about 80p a day.
We stayed on half board basis, and considering the extra cost for all inclusive, for us it worked out better value. Because we were HB we paid for our drinks when we had them, which meant that at the end of the night you paid and gave a tip, therefore we got great service! We were drinking local Muscat wine at 14.500 dinar (about £5.80). So if you are all inclusive, a little tip will probably get you better service.
The mini bar. Very simple, DO NOT USE IT. We got extra drinks charged to our mini bar. Although it was only about five pounds worth, it was the principle. We sorted it out in the end, but to cut it short, DO NOT CHARGE ANY DRINKS OR FOOD TO YOUR ROOM.
Evening entertainment not the best, but during the day the team are brilliant. Not pushy to get you to participate and everyone has a laugh around the pool watching the games being played. One guy stood out for us and that was Simone, he is a legend at making you smile.
To sum up a great holiday. Would we stay in this hotel again? Without a doubt, but we wouldn't use the room bill. Would we recommend it? That’s a definite YES!
If you’re staying here you will love it.

We stayed at the Hotel Averroes 4* All inclusive and it was the best holiday that our family have had, we have stayed in Tunisia 4 times before but this one topped the rest.
The Entrance/Reception area was breath taking, with Marble flooring, water features and plants hanging down all the lovely fret work it looked georgous.
The bedrooms are very spacious with marble floors too (very slippery when wet though), we also had sea veiws was unbelievable.
The food was excellent, even our 9yr old daughter ate and when we have stayed in Tunisia before she would sit and play with it rather than eat it. The waiters were very kind too, they would clean away your plates and pour your drinks out for you. They also have Sister Hotels that you can eat at too, which is Mexican, Italian or authentic Tunisian.
The staff at the hotel were so friendly out there as we have been out there before and it has been Ramadan and they don't eat from sun rise till sun set (Sep/Oct) and are very miserable.
The pool area was really nice the deepest part is 1.40 meters with spa areas, there is also a seperate childrens pool. There is also a bar around the side of the pool were you can get water/alcohol/cocktails. The sun beds are free and no charge for mattress.
The beach is very clean with white beaches and clear blue sea, on a calm day you can see the fish swimming around your feet. The sun beds were free too. There is also free peddle boats/wind surfing and kiacking.
The entertainment was throughout the day with Aqua Gym/Volley Ball/Football/Water Polo/
Table Tennis. The evening entertainment wasn't too bad but could be better with Mini Disco for the children.
We had a lovely Holiday there and are thinking of returning may be next year as we had such a lovely time and couldn't fault it in anyway shape or form.

The hotel was fabulous shame about the food and the rude staff though. They catered for every other nationality and all that we ate all week was chips, spaghetti bol and the pasta and all of it tasted horrid. The rooms are very big and clean although we had to wait 2days for fresh loo roll n had no flush on the toilet for a few days too.
My son loved the pool and as someone has already pointed out it is so slippy around the pool so be careful. Outside the hotel the people are very rude and expect you to buy what ever you look at, they think we English are bloody rich and the mithering and rudeness is the last thing you want on holiday.
I wouldn’t recommend Tunisia to anyone but the hotels cleanliness I would. Also there was 1 night of karaoke great. Boring. Try to have fun if you go. We didn’t. Waste of nearly 2grand for a week for me my partner and my 4yr old who does not like spaghetti bol anymore!

My partner and I have just returned home from Tunisia what a fantastic time we had the hotel was absolutely fantastic.
The food was spot on we would recommend it to anyone the staff are great the rooms are kept clean and we also had our own waiter, karmel, he was lovely very polite really look after you. Some speak very good English.
The only thing we found was lack of entertainment at the hotel evenings. You could go for walks to the marina or the mardina, like most resorts the shop keepers like you to go into their shops and they all really seem to like the English.
We would definitely go back to this resort and hotel can be a bit slippery around pool.
We went with Thomas cook our rep alysanne crow was fantastic, she was always on hand with help and advice. Even the bar staff were great. Highly recommended.

We chose to go to Tunisia because we thought it would be a nice, relaxing cheap week away, well if this is what you are looking for then don’t go here.
The hotel was lovely if you don’t mind the smell of sewage but I think that’s just Tunisia in general.
The food was awful too, it might not have been too bad had it been hot, but even if you are first into the restaurant it was cold food, the chef cannot cater for a large amount of people. It also all tastes the same - tastes of nothing!
The staff at the hotel were lovely couldn’t do enough for us, but the Thomson rep don’t expect anything from her she knows nothing and has obviously not had enough training, she doesn’t have any interest in what you say all she wants is to sell you the trips but even then she can’t really be bothered.
Outside the hotel is even worse, the Tunisian people are so rude, and aggressive if you don’t look in their shops they shout abuse at you.... I’ve been to Turkey several times so I am aware of how to say no but they just get so nasty here in Tunisia.
They don’t cater for English either, in the hotel they try really hard to speak English but unfortunately everything is geared up for the German. If you are not at the sunbeds by 7am you will be lucky to get one... that’s of course if you get sun!
If you decide to ignore this review and go anyway then good luck, but you will regret going!
I will never go back!

The hotel was excellent the staff were very helpful and polite; the rooms were spacious and kept very clean by the maid.
We were all inclusive so didn’t have to pay for the meals and drinks including bottled water, the food was very nice there was always something for every one although no kids menu.
The pool area is excellent but a bit slippery around the sides, the hotel is on the beach so there is no trek to find the sea, the beach has umbrellas and sun beds all free if you are AI.
There were very few people selling stuff on the beach so you are not constantly harassed as in some other countries, there is a Medina and theme park within easy walking distance of the hotel, well worth a visit.
The only down side for us was the Thomson service. We were unceremoniously dumped at the hotel entrance and left to get on with it, we got settled in and then had to go and find out all the relevant information that you would expect from the tour operator for ourselves.
Day one and the rep turned up for the welcome meeting to inform us it would be held at another hotel and would only take an hour, it turned out to be more like four hours thirty minutes of which was related to the welcome and three and a half hours selling trips to unsuspecting guests.
My advice would be give this a miss and if you want to go on trips do it through the hotel as the trips are the same but cheaper. Apart from that there was no contact with Thomson for the whole two weeks.
On the last day, I checked our flight times through the phone number given and found they had no idea what flight we were supposed to be on, and was advised to ring back in an hour to allow them to sort it out, which they eventually did.
The flights were short and comfortable but the transfer to and from the airport were two hours each way.

Beautiful hotel, food not too bad, it felt bit like a canteen though! nice pool area, bit noisy though, lovely beach but not much to do there outside hotel, if you like walking out a night its not for you as there isn't much at all there & felt like you should not be out there, we spent 2 weeks in the hotel grounds!!! Entertainment not very good but they try real hard! Watch out for the massive jelly fish and most days’ seaweed & murky sea!

This hotel is exactly what you see in the pictures, it’s stunning! Set right on the beach, there are always sun loungers available. Go late March, early April when it’s not so busy.
The rooms are kept so clean and tidy, the maid visits every day giving fresh towels and thoroughly cleaning the rooms. They even go to the effort of putting your hand towels into the shape of swans in your sink. Very nice touch.
We arrived at the hotel in the evening and I really thought they had taken us to the wrong one, the way it’s all lit up at night is beautiful and it 100% out done my expectations.
I'm the fussiest eater in the world, but I could live there, the food was great, service was fantastic. There is always someone going out of their way for you.
I had been warned off going out of the hotel resort before I went to this country. But I found the local people nothing but inviting and friendly.
It’s a great chill out holiday with friends, maybe not if you’re a clubbing kind of person. Also would make a lovely family trip with young children.
I can't wait to get back on that plane next year!!!!! Worth every single penny!! (Great deals with Thomas Cook) Reps were excellent to!
