Hilton Avisford Park Hotel reviews

Jul 2011, sad reviewer

In January we booked and paid for two suites and two twin guest rooms for a get together at the end of May with our son and daughter and their families. On the day my wife and I arrived we were surprised to be shown not into the Houston Suite as had been arranged by the... more

OUR HONEYMOON WEEKEND
As this was our honeymoon weekend and we wanted somewhere quiet and in the middle of nowhere we chose this hotel, i do recommend coming here with your own car as hotel is situated quite far away from the nearest town and a quick taxi ride into town can set you back about £30 return. Check in was friendly and speedy, the room was spacious and a good bathroom with a lovely view. j As with true hilton style the breakfast was full english and very appetising, however for dinner we were a bit dissapointed as the main course was served... more
Ok but 4 Star?? I think not
Due to an administrative error, we were moved from the Goodwood Park to the Hilton for our stay. Room was adequate - although I always find stained carpet a little off-putting. Overall, this isn't a bad place to stay, but the restaurant (And its Manager) really let the place down. We ate at 9pm on Friday ; a little late by some standards, but the manager was loudly extolling the virtues of prepping as many tables for breakfast as early as possible - hard to relax when tables are being cleared around you. The same thing... more
best service of any hilton that i have stayed in
This Hotel was far better than I was expecting. The staff were outstanding (the best I have come across in years), and made our stay extremely comfortable. Nothing was to much effort for them. Rooms were fine, the food was good, and the facilitities were excellent. The Building could do with a lick of paint, but that is not an issue.
Tremendous setting
This was our first stay at this hotel and we made an advance payment room-only booking which was very competitive. The standard room was perfectly adequate with comfortable twin beds, good view, clean modern bathroom and modern flat screen TV. The bathroom was slightly lacking in shelf space, but the shower fittings were of good quality. The hotel setting was excellent with it's own golf course and large gardens and grounds. There are two pools. We used the putting green. There is plenty of parking. The staff were friendly and helpful and... more
Impressed
Stayed over the Bank Holiday weekend taking advantage of a special offer. We had a "deluxe" room due to the fact that we required an extra bed for our 6 year old. The room was in fact very spacious and dual aspect with views over the golf course. Even though the hotel was very busy there was plenty of staff who were courteous, pleasant and efficient. Food was good with the benefit of free children's meals in the restaurant. Overall recommended - especially due to the excellent staff.
Fantastic
This hotel had fantastic service, food and accomodation. We could not fault anything over our 3 night stay. The whole hotel was clean, including the swimming pool. The food was amazing in the evening and at breakfast. Staff very attentive and professional. It is not a cheap place to stay but having said that, you pay for what you get!
Nice place but don't go for the coffee!
I stayed at this hotel as I was attending a conference. The setting is rural making it a peaceful and quiet place to stay. I stayed in a deluxe room which had two windows one looking out onto the grounds and a lane behind the hotel. The bed was very comfortable and the room nicely furnished. The TV was a large flat screen affair. i got confused about the correct time as the clock on the TV was different to the time on the alarm clock. That was slightly irritating. The bathroom was very modern and clean and Crabtree and Evelyn... more
Not worth even half the money!
We were booked this weekend as a treat by our Boss. The first problem, we had been told we could book in after 3.30pm, we arrived at about 3.40pm and was told that the room was not ready and they would call us when it was. 30mins passed and still no room, we had to go and ask twice at the check in desk if it was ready and I am pretty sure we would still be sat there now if we had not kept asking! 4.27pm and the third time we had asked! The key was handed to us. The second problem, whilst waiting for our room to be ready we... more
Highly Recommended
Delayed review of guests from Tenterden, Kent : I have been meaning to write this review for ages, so this will be one New Years Resolution out of the way. My husband and 6-year old daughter stayed at the Hilton Avisford Park for a long weekend at the end of October to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary and also my birthday. Like other readers, I too was concerned that we had chosen the correct location. However, we could not have had a better welcome nor a better stay. We spoke to other guests who were on return... more
Excellent retreat
This is my fifth stay at Hilton Avisford Park, and it can't be a fluke that every stay has been faultless. As I'd pre-paid, and being a Gold HHonors member, it required only a signature for my pre-prepared roomkey. My on-file preferences were actioned, and I was given a high-floor [upgraded] room away from the hustle. Our room looked newly-renovated, with a king-sized bed, flat screen television and a beautiful bathroom. The shower was perfect (powerful and without the clingy-curtain one has come to expect). All in all, one of... more
