Great stay
from Madges
We have just returned from a three day stay at the Hilton, Bath. In contrast to many of your reviewers we had a great time. Our family (two adults and two children) had adjoining rooms which were nicely appointed and decorated. The food and service we very good and could not be faulted. The breakfast was excellent and better than that experienced in many other hotels we have visited. We would recommend the hotel to other families as it is conveniently located for all amenities and is a relaxed and easy place to stay.
Don't write off this hotel
from Boubelina
After reading other reviews, my daughter and I were worried about staying at the Hilton but our worries were somewhat unfounded. The room, although smallish was very clean and comfortable. We had a great view of the river and surrounding hills. The towels were fine and bathrooms equipped with quality toiletries. Admittedly, the room could do with being refurbished but this didn't spoil our enjoyment. However, I would not recommed eating in the restaurant. On the night we ate there, our food was of a very poor quality. The waiter told us...

Staff was nice, breakfast was great. The rest will make you regret staying ther
from reykjavik
PROS: The staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was immense and rather tasty. Great location, although Bath is tiny so every hotel within the city is centrally located. CONS: I will give anyone 50 bucks if they can find an uglier building in all of Bath than the building that houses Hilton Bath City. It is so hideously ugly it will make you regret having stayed there every time you look at it. It was either an insane asylum or a hospital but either way its ugly as sin. The toilet reeked of an intense urine...

Great hotel for the money
from Vlex
I booked the Hilton in Bath for a group of 8 girls on a hen weekend because it was cheap and central and we could get 4 rooms with twin beds. I was really worried about it because of the reviews I had read here, but I was very pleasantly surprised. The rooms were clean and, while not huge, were big enough to fit two single beds in comfort and to allow two girls to get ready for a night out without falling over each other. The bathroom was also clean and the shower was very powerful with plenty of hot water. All the linen provided was...

Great Location for A City Break
from little-lily
My husband and I stayed here at the end of May for a short break. The hotel is in a great central location. We booked a suite which had fantastic views of the river and the town and hills beyond. The room was really huge with complimentary chocolates, fruit and wine. The bathroom was fine and quite clean but did need to be refurbished as looking a little tatty in places. The breakfast was included and very good with a lot of choice. Again the restaurant had wonderful views over the river but did need a bit of refurbishment. I...

If you can bear the downside the upside is a great location
from A TripAdvisor Member
I've just come back from a conference at this hotel. I certainly wouldn't choose it for a special weekend and if it wasn't slap bang in the middle of everything, I probably wouldn't choose it at all as there are obviously lots of other places to stay in Bath. The other upside was that the staff seemed uniformly nice. Badly trained and puzzlingly clueless at times, but quick to try and help. As the conference progressed we were at first irritated but just became amused by the fact that any of us could ask ANY given question and get a...

we booked our hotel from for velantines night and travelled to Bath for the day. i booked a meal at the eastern eye indian resturant and had a fantastic day in bath and a great meal. the hotel though was terrible. Parking? £20 for a night? a bit over priced but it should be worth it. i checked in and the receptionest took out my booking reference and crossed out the room number on it and wrote another one in and gave me the key. a little strange i thought. so grab our bags and head for the room. we go to the top floor and start walking and...

Had a Great Time!
from SANDRAOS
This hotel was a lot better than expected after seeing the other reviews. The room, although small was comfortable, and very clean. The breakfast was great, anything you wanted they had, from porridge to waffles and the fried eggs and omelettes cooked fresh on request. Our three night stay included two evening meals, these were very good. The location of the hotel was fantastic, just a short walk to anywhere. The staff were very friendly and helpful, we had a problem with a light in our room and this was sorted immediately. The car...

Good locatiion, poor maintenance
from TipTopCat
We arrived at the hotel and were impressed with the location, however, parking might prove a problem for those arriving by car. Hotel check-in friendly enough although no HHonors Gold upgrade "we don't upgrade to suites". The supposed 'Deluxe' room we were shown to was a disgrace; a double bed with a view of the A/C machines on the flat roof - itself covered in cigarette butts (see photo) Quite amusing as the rooms don't even have A/C; talk about rubbing salt into the wound! Finally moved to a plesant room overlooking the river, although a...

Great location with convenient parking
from Tottington
My husband and I have just returned from Bath and had a very enjoyable time. We were worried about the hotel after reading some of the reviews. However, we did not have too much to worry about as we found the hotel much to our satisfaction. Although the parking fee is quite high (£15) it is very convenient being underneath the hotel. The restaurant is a little dated but we found the food and staff excellent. A little disappointed that smoking is allowed next to the restaurant. The rooms are compact and we found the single beds very...
