stay somewhere else
from madamtraveller
I have stayed countless times at the Hilton Leicester during business trips and found it dreadful every time I stayed there. It became increasingly worse over the years! The sheets had holes and sometimes hair on them .<There was not a single time that I found the bathroom spotless clean! They even forced me to stay in one of rooms that was meant for the physically impaired where you could not lock your doors. I was rerouted twice to a different hotel at arrival since they had double booked a room ! The only reason I stayed there was that my company had a "good corporate rate" and every employee was "encorouged" to stay there. It was also close to the shopping area called Foss Park that was open until later in the evenings. If you have any other choice stay somewhere else!Even The Holiday Inn is better!
A very nice hotel
from ElthamTraveller_9
We booked our conference at the Hilton for around 30 people and we received excellent service. The staff were of a very high standard and whilst there were one or two hiccups they were dealt with quickly when they arose. The leisure facilities were excellent and the room that I had very spacious and comfortable. Nice extras like Crabtree and Evelyn products etc. The food was of a very high quality, unlike some of the school dinners you get from other conference venues. I would recommend the Hilton.
A Poor Choice - Poor service
from SimonxEmma
I have stayed here one night a week for the last seven weeks. I have only had one stay with no problems. Issues range from missing booking, room service of 1hr 50 mins, incorrect bills, room keys that dont work, bad service in all areas. The rooms are OK, some are in need of a refurb, Gym is good. They will have a large issue when the Marriot opens across the road
Loved the Hilton
from A TripAdvisor Member
The Hilton is a beautiful hotel with friendly staff and atmosphere. The rooms are to a good standard and very spaceous. We paid £119 per couple for two nights b&b and one evening meal which was brill. The food was to a high standard and the staff were prompt. The leisure centre is nice and big with a small pool which is sectioned off for children also it has a steam room and sauna that is never overcrowded. All in all we had a brill time and would stay again.
Better than some
from AFrequentTraveller
Hotel is conveniently located just off M1 and has reasonable size car park. We had booked a leisure rate which was £60 including breakfast for two and car parking - great value. Room was fine but view was over the back of the kitchens - still can't have everything. Lounge area is quite good and the bar is OK but poorly stocked (no brandy) and very expensive for a motel type hotel. Breakfast was excellent but don't go between 9AM and 10AM as it's a zoo. Good selection of freshly cooked food and the usual fruit, cereal, etc. Serice is hit and miss, the staff are very pleasant but not very efficient. Coffee arrived after we had asked several times just as we were going. It was lousy coffee so not worth the wait.
Great Hilton weekend
from A TripAdvisor Member
Was not looking forward to our weekend at Leicester Hilton having read the reviews. The pool was large , clean and warm. The sauna and steam room was not crowded. The staff could not have been more helpfull. Our double double family room was spacious and quiet. The cleaners were efficient. The food was excellent especially the breakfast. And all this for £69 pounds per night. The kids meals were not overpriced. We will be going back.
Mediocre!
from Londonmammoth2
Location: Mediocre (literally just off the motorway - must use car but they still wanted to charge £5 a night for parking, I refused to pay) Building: Mediocre (unattractive, unnecessarily sprawled out, motel style, long dank corridors) Lounge/Reception: Mediocre (standard 3-4 star, but this and the 'courtyard' were actually the best features of this hotel. For this and the OK breakfast, I have given it an extra star) Service: Mediocre (poorly trained unfriendly unhelpful reception staff) Food service: mediocre (wrong orders delivered, tasteless food, breakfast OK) Rooms: Mediocre (smelly, poorly decorated, faded, pay TV didn't work, no air-conditioning, bed sheet not large enough to cover duvet) Bathrooms: mediocre (drab, bad toiletries, shower a dribble, stinky rough towels) Still want to go there? Me don't care!
Too expensive for what it is
from McBoot
There's nothing much wrong with this bog-standard Hilton. But it's too expensive for a motel-style experience. Not the worst Hilton I've been to (that distinction goes to Bristol) but nothing great.
Not Good Service
from A TripAdvisor Member
I just wanted to say thank you to that person who also thought this hotel was not too good. I found th staff were very unfriendly and unhelpful!!! I would not go there again!! I would much stay at the Travel Lodge or Holiday Express in which is just up the road from the Hilton but closer to the aiport!
Okay for one night...
from U2fan
It's an 'okay' hotel if you're on business staying for just one night. On the plus side, my room was big and had a very comfy bed. On the downside - the whole hotel was cold, including the bedrooms. My colleague had to get a portable heater in her room, but it was still too cold and it wasn't possible to get another heater as they were being used by other guests! The food in the restaurant was poor, and the service mediocre. I'd stop here again if I had no other choice. I much prefer the Corus Leicester (formerly Time Out) Hotel.

The Hilton is a pleasant hotel set about 3 miles outside Leicester. The hotel is a 4 star hotel and I would say the hotel met this standard when I stayed there. The hotel has a Health Club attached to it which as guests we were allowed to use, it had a swimming pool,... more
