High Expectations Yield Low Results
from Salme
My husband and I have stayed at Puckrup Hall on several occassions, and were looking forward to our current stay. In fact, on this trip to England, we stayed here twice. Our first stay was fine, though it was obvious from the beginning that they were shorthanded; it was difficult to get maid service, and they forgot our newspaper most days. Our second stay was close to disaster. The hotel consists of the old Puckrup Hall, and the newer section. Under no circumstance should you agree to stay in the old Hall. Our first night, they...

Superb!!!
from DazzaPFC
Well ... like everyone reading this review, I looked the hotel up, to check out the facilities and the feedback from previous customers. My partner & I stayed over the weekend of 18 Aug. Check-in was straightforward. The room was clean & tidy. The service, both at reception & in the restaurant, was superb. On reception the service was extraordinarily good. Chantelle in particular was quite exceptional; attentive, professional & very helpful. I honestly did not recognise the hotel (& service) from some of the descriptions below. Not a bad...

Worst Hotel Ever
from meeky99
Stayed there for family event over two nights and it was truly dreadful from start to finish. From the body hairs in the bathroom, the rotten fruit in the breakfast fruit salad, the failure to deliver a room service breakfast, a dinner which would be out of place at Ford Open Prison and the seeming inability of the kitchen to cook a piece of chicken, everything was really poor. The staff are friendly enough but there is little sign of management or a chef in the restaurant who can cook anything to a reasonable standard. Dont go

I've just returned from a 2 day break at the Hilton Puckrup Hall and I won't return until the hotel has been cleaned up. The overall cleanliness of the hotel left a lot to be desired. There was an overwhelming smell of dust and plenty of it in evidence. The bathroom in our room was disgusting. The sealant used between the floor and wall tiles was more black than the white it should have been. Although we complained immediately, little was done to improve the situation. Also, I was promised a "nice view", but got...

OK except in hot weather
from peterjames2000
stayed here in the heat wave and, as the hotel has no a/c, it was a bit stifling. you will need to open the window so location is important to getting sleep -ours overloooked a staff? car park and was a bit noisy. our bed was also very soft. the +s are a very nice leisure facility, and a pleasant - if slightly run down - riverside town nearby in Tewkesbury. breakfast reasonable and also seemed to be an abundant supply of free Sunday newspapers. BT Openzone (and roaming partners) wi fi in reception area. Overallan acceptabel stay at...

Cleaners walked straight into our room!
from Turner27
I stayed here for a night with a friend and was not very impressed. Check in was fine and the staff were friendly enough. We were booked into a standard room which was perfectly adequate, not overly large though. The website says the hotel is situated in 140acres of ground, what they fail to mention is that the whole 140acres is a golf course. If you want to go for a walk you can't, well you can but beware of flying golfballs! We decided to eat dinner in the bar, which considering the hotel was "fully booked" was empty. I ordered...

Got there in the end!
from SteveLeicestershire
Having read mixed reviews about this hotel we held our breath! Check in was good and as Hilton Gold Card holders we were upgraded to a room in the old part of the hotel. The room was compact but had loads of character including wood beamed ceilings. It was on the third floor though so it helped burn off the breakfast. We booked a two day B+B package with dinner on the first night which represented good value. The hotel has a golf course and great views although exploring the grounds if you are not a golfer could prove hazardous. Food was...

Nice Hotel, superb Leisure facilities
from Jasonjxb
Large hotel with superb leisure facilities including a splendid pool which we used with the kids. Family room as large with queen size bed, sofa which dropped down into a small double, and a single put me up bed. Bathroom well appointed. Tea/Coffee making facilities, room also had iron with ironing board which proved useful. Breakfast was very good with buffet style which included various cereals, full english, and very good fruit salad bar. The only downside was the bar prices which were scary.
A very pleasant stay
from msganc
On arrival I requested a room in the old part of the hotel (as recommended in a previous review) but there were none available (it was a bank holiday!!) However they offered us one of their best rooms in the new part - a very spacious room with a bay window (not sure if this was because they couldn't meet our request for the old building or because we are Hilton Silver members). The room was very nice with great views over the golf course. Facilities (pool/gym) are reasonable although did get very busy. Breakfast was excellent and...

Stay in the old part
from MATTH
Good 4 star Hotel. I stayed over as part of a group with my company. I am a HH Diaomand and was allocated a lovely room in the original part of the bulding called February which was very cosy. These rooms are described as Deluxe Plus rooms on the website. Restaurant is hit and miss and some elements of the hotel are showing wear. The reception was often only manned by one member of staff which created ques at peak times. I had a look at some of the rooms that we had in the new part which seamed up to Hilton standard but nowhere...
