Monte Tauro Hotel

Very enjoyable stay in the Monte Tauro. Hotel well presented and in great location. Amazing view of the bay from every room and balcony of hotel, while only a few steps from the town centre. We will stay there again. Went to one of the beaches from the hotel by mini bus, euro 10 euro to Stockholm beach. Well worth it. Towels provided as well as umbrellas and loungers for your money. One of the more sandy beach with beach bar for the drink and food.

Just back from a week at this hotel, we booked through a travel agent and got a very good deal compared to published prices - we were a little aprehensive as we normally travel independently however our worries were completly unfounded. Rooms are build onto the side of a cliff so everybody gets a good size balcony and superb sea views - this is the best bit. This Hotel is fantastic, we went 5 years ago when the refurb had just been completed and stayed in a suite, we never wanted to leave. We felt the same this time staying in a standard room for just a week. The staff are attentive and professional, the decor, the position (built into the side of the cliff face, all rooms are looking over the bay) is just breathtaking. We stayed at the Monte Tauro for two nights during the Easter holiday week. Taormina was bustling and crazy, but all was peaceful at the hotel. What an amazing view of the Mediterranean! Each room has its own balcony, and the pool is fabulous, albeit chilly. It's a fairly standard upmarket hotel room, but all in all, a good bet in Taormina. A word of warning: If you drive to Taormina, getting into the hotel's parking lot is quite an adventure! I guess that's what you would expect for a hotel built on the side of a sea cliff.

The hotel is fantastic, and the rooms and the junior suites are modern and comfortable. All the details make you feel spoiled and happy. The quality of the food is sublime, the kindness of the people overwhelm the guests. They are also able to manage meetings and big groups of people perfectly.

We stayed a week at the hotel. I had searched around to find a modern design hotel in Sicily. The hotel did not disappoint in terms of the modern architecture and we loved the way that the rocks were left exposed in various places on the 'inner' walls. My husband and I visited the Monte Tauro hotel for one week late in August last year. From the moment we arrived in Taormina we knew that this would be a great choice. Having spent quite a while researching hotels in Sicily we initially chose another hotel but as it did not have availability we settled on our second choice the Monte Tauro. First let me say we traveled here for our honeymoon after our civil partnership, we wanted to go somewhere alittle different without going too far. The flights were great but Catania airport was alittle caotic, more third world than first. We arrived at the hotel via two buses and were sent down a slope to the reception this its self would make the hotel totally unsuitable for anyone with wallking difficulties. We stayed early September, which was perfect for the weather and the fact that there were very few children. The hotel has been furnished to a very high standard, with fantastic views from the balcony. Our room was on the fourth floor, which was ideal as you do not have any noise from the restaurant (on the top floor, 8th) or the swimming pool. The mini bar was surprisingly very reasonably priced. Visited Sicily during extremely hot weather in June. Thankfully the air con in the hotel was first class. The decor is unusually modern for Italy but very comfortable. Our room was very nice with good sized balcony and excellent patio furniture. My only moan would be restricted view due to proximity of exterior lift shaft and also the lack of privacy this caused as the lift is of glass construction.
