Dan Eilat Hotel

used to be our favorite, but......... after 10 years, get new mattresses!!!!! the originals are all worn down. We stayed in a suite, not half as good as the suites in the Royal Beach next nearby. Food at the Royal Beach by far better........ It seems as though management is to busy saving in the wrong places rather than giving us the usually expected 6 star type of vacation.

This review is geared towards young families rather than couples or individuals. We're regular visitors to Eilat, and before we had children had previously stayed at the Dan and the Royal Beach. More recently, with the children, we have stayed at the King Solomon, as this hotel considers itself best for kids (although this is not the opinion of this reviewer). The hotel is situated in a good location, the beach is only a stones throw away. Don't expect soft clean sand. Its sand, but only just. The decor and rooms are ok, but have slightly passed their sell by date. The pool/sea view is lovely and quite enchanting at night. The breakfast is good, but it can be rather crowded. We stayed here for 3 nights in September. It was packed with Israeli families with tons of young children. It is not a good place for a romantic holiday. The hotel was very clean. Excellent security. The lobby was beautiful. The pool and beach were great. The hotel is directly on the beach and comfortable lounge chairs are available for hotel guests. I have stayed at the Dan Eilat at least once a year for the past 10 years and there is not much to say other than to go and try it for yourself. The breakfast is best breakfast served I have yet seen in any hotel, in the world!

Spent 3 nights in the Dan Eilat hotel first week of April 2006 - a family of 4 with 2 small kids (6 and 4 y/o). had a "family junior suite" - main bedroom / seating area with an additional "kids room" enclosed with a door and two twin beds. A really good experience. Impaccable service -room was serviced at least 3 times a day plus turn down service. My husband and I stayed 3 nights at the Dan Eilat in March. The grounds and pool area are lush and well kept. The rooms as one poster noted are "funky" in a cartoonish way. I guess we are used to more subtle decor. My husband remarked that the carpet on our floor made him dizzy to look at. Everything is very colorful, which is fun at a beach resort so it was fine. My wife and I stayed at the Dan for our first anniversary. The room was massive with the biggest and most comfortable bed ever! The views of the Red Sea were astonishing. The food was great and aplenty. Staff was extermely hospitable and professional. The concirege even arranged a surprise for our anniversary of balloons and champagne in our room. We will definitley go back.

Stayed at Dan Eilat during New Year. Although the hotel was full it was a real pleasure. The pool area is very large and we could always find a nice sunny spot to sit in. The location right on the sea is a big plus. The two great things that made this holidy stand out was the proffesional and friendly service and the food quality. In our mind, the food at Dan eilat is a real feast to the eyeses and pallets. Will most probably return to the hotel in the Spring.

My husband and I stayed there recently for a special occasion and the staff couldn't do enough to make our trip memorable. The rooms are very comfortable, the pool area is fabulous and the food was excellent. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay - and the benefits of joining the e-Dan club are well worth doing. We intend to go back next year too...!
