Excellent hotel
Our family of 4 stayed at the Palace for 4 nights. We were to have two adjoining rooms, but we were upgraded to a Suite. The Suite was wonderful. The master bedroom had a very large bathroom with a whirlpool tub. The hotel complex is very large and beautifully decorated. The breakfast in the mornings which was included in the price was excellent. We did have drinks in the lobby 1 night and the service was poor and the drinks even worse. We also had some spa services in the Vitalis which is adjoining to the palace. I must say it was... more
Loved the Vitalis
I stayed at the Vitalis and like other reviewers this came at the end of my trip so I valued the peace and quiet - I noted that the main Herods Palace is much busier and more suitable for families. The staff were so helpful and couldn't have done enough to make my stay a pleasant one. My room was beautiful and I was impressed that my bath had a whirlpool facility! I will definitely return.
Wonderful Vacation, Great Hotel
The hotel is a beautiful new complex of three buildings, but still has ample swimming pools, beach front and restaurants. It is ranked as a five star hotel, and deserves this ranking. Breakfast was included in the package and was excellent; everything that could be desired was there, including hot pastries and pizza (I guess you can have pizza for breakfast when on vacation). The service was great, and the swimming pools were in superb condition. Tourists would come from all the neighboring hotels to take pictures; they are... more
Okay
We stayed in the Palace. The room was nice, but not great. The breakfast was amazing. The pool grounds were nice, but a little dirty. The staff seemed not well trained and a bit indifferent. We were there in the "off-season"; several restaurants and the pool bar were closed without explanation and apology, the hotel had few events during the day, and those that it did have were very difficult to find (the staff didn't seem to know) and were sometimes cancelled (like the belly dance class that was cancelled because five people didn't show... more
This Hotel is the Best in Eilat and Israel
I think it is the best Hotel in Israel. Don't stay anywhere else!
Nice Resort Atmosphere
We stayed in this hotel the first week of July, 2005. The hotel is a very large "theme hotel" with lots of families on vacation. The rooms were nice, big and with nice balconies with fantastic views of the Red Sea. The breakfast was fabulous with lots of variety of foods. The hotel lobby can get quite crowded as can the pool area when the hotel is full, but it always was kept neat and clean. They sometines put out snacks in the lobby which was nice. We sometimes had to wait for a few elevators to pass by because they were already full.... more
Great atmosphere
The previous review, which scared me somewhat, was way out of line. I, too, stayed in a "Sky" room for 3 nights, and it was large and well maintained. The view was fantastic, the tub was big, the bed was comfy and nothing was dirty or run-down. The lounge was a treat and the food there was plentiful. The rest of the hotel was also great - the pool area is beautiful and the breakfast was good (though not fantastic). Overall, we were very satisfied (we love Eilat; it's a great place to vacation in Israel).
Much Room for Improvement
We just returned from Israel this week. Our trip included a three-night stay at Sheraton Herods Palace Hotel. It was hard for us to imagine that this hotel was one of the best when it opened in 2000. Once inside, there was hardly a surface that was not worn out or dirty. We stayed in an upgraded Tower Room (quite expensive) that included access to the 11th floor lounge. Carpet in the hallway was unravelling, walls were dirty, carpet in our room was full of stains. In addition, our reservation that included a room with two beds was not... more
Best stay yet!!
On a two week tour of Israel in 2000, I stayed in this luxurious hotel. It has the largest pool I have ever seen & wonderful grounds for relaxation. I was travelling with my parents as part of a work excursion so all was paid for & it seems expensive as there was never anyone in the pool. The buffet breakfast was delicious, you can have anything from tropical fruits to chocolate cake, its all there. In the evening, I recommend the dining al fresco on the hotels terrace as it looks over the pool. The private sandy beach was... more
Excellent!
Just returned from a stay at this great hotel. We were in the Herod's Vitalis, a spa hotel within a hotel, but stayed in the regular part also. This hotel had the best breakfast of any in Israel, but the Friday night dinner food was not great. The Rothschild's restaurant was amazing, and at great prices--I highly recommend it. The concierge staff was great, and the location was also--at the end of the strip, and therefore the quietest location. The gym was fine, and the spa looked great, although I didn't have time for any treatments. On... more
