Le Meridien Eilat Hotel

My self and my wife had a 10 day trip to Israel. We decided to take a bus from Tel Aviv central bus station to Eilat, and decided to fly back. Our bus took on time at 65 NIS (~$15.50). Very clean bus. It went through bunch of towns. the trip was about 5.5 hours long. The experience was to put it least, amazing ! You get to see the dead sea, mountains, countryside, and the beautiful negev and paran desert. Booked directly through SPG. Hotel was beautiful. Just so you know there is no beach at the Meridien in Eilat, but the pool is amazing.

We have just returned from a week in Eilat and I cant fault anything about the place. Initially we had some trouble getting there as our flight was delayed by 6 hours, but upon arrival we were upgraded to a suite in the hotel with the most amazing view over the red sea. Our room, and the hotel, were spotless and the facilities were also excellent. I have read bad reviews on this site in relation to this hotel, but I cant understand what they were talking about. We have just returned from a 4 night stay at le Meridien in Eilat and we were thrilled with our experience. I was very surprised to read past reviews of this hotel and to see how negative they were since our experience has only been very positive. Our room was beautiful, clean and very spacious. The staff, friendly and professional was always very eager to help out. The food was fresh, tasty and plentiful. Le Meridien isn't the best hotel in Eilat, but it certainly isn't the worst. My wife and I stayed here with my brother-in-law and his fiancee in the summer of 2005. The hotel interior is nice, and the rooms are more than adequate. Contrary to what they advertise, it is NOT right on the beach, unless you consider a wood deck overlooking rocks to be a beach. The sand beach in Eilat is actually quite small, and you have to stay at the Hilton or Sheraton Moriah if you want to be directly on the sand beach. Overall, it's a much better hotel... more

I have just arrived in Tel Aviv after spending just 2 nights in The Le Meridian, Eilat. I am nearing the end of a 2 week tour of Israel which for the most part has been an amazing experience. I am however very disappointed with my stay at the hotel in question. I have tried to not let it spoil an otherwise fantastic experience but I was left a bit let down. Ive just returned from a short stay at this hotel and looked at the reviews after. Im quite surprised how negative they are, as we had a decent stay. The hotel was advertised to us as a 4 star and indeed it isnt a 5* hotel. But with the vast range that 4* covers, we thought this was certainly at the upper end. Firstly the reception staff were extremely polite and helpful. It really felt like a 1st class establishment. We were upgraded into an absurdely large room, which was great. We have just returned from a two-week stay at the Le Meridien Eilat, which we found to fall so comprehensively short of expectations that we feel the need to advise concerned parties of the endless suite of deficiencies. We recently stayed at this hotel for two nights and were very disappointed as we expected a deluxe suite in a five star hotel as advertised. Upon checking in we saw that the bed linen was dirty (evidence of pubic hair); the mini bar was filthy with spilled coke and food leftovers. I grabbed the housekeeping lady who was in the hall and got her to change the sheets, but she would not clean the mini fridge as it was not her job. it was our honeymoon, and we spent 3 nights here and the place was wonderfull we stayed in a suite overlooking the redsea, we slept with our sliding door open and ate breakfast in bed. the hotel s a beautiful romantic place. after what we had been through before we got there, we were in another hotel that was horrible, with bugs and smells. my husband and i went to dinner and on the way back we past the le merdian and stopped for a drink, i was so blown away by how beautiful the place was i sent my hubby back to the other place to get our... more
