Submitted By: bettyboob3118 of us altogether went on this holiday and includin 11 kids rangin from 6 to 16.
we got to the hotel mid day and was greeted by very friendly staff. we put our bags in the rooms and went to explore, and have lunch, altho the kitchen staff didnt speak much english they was still friendly and helpful.
entertainment every day and nite even tho we went at end of season was still enetertainin as it should b.
the kids entertainers made sure the kids had a good time and us adults was also included in the kids dancin and we all certainly had fun with them lol.
food was on offer alday long and me bein a fussy eater enjoyed it all, especially the meat at dinner, the beef and the pork just melted in ur mouth.
ok there was abit of que at bar in evenin but we was stood for no longer then 5 mins just like u would at any busy bar.
the bar staff was very friendly and even had time to play with the kids, (in which my son had great fun windin 1 up with his barceloner top.
we met a few families that have been goin bak to the same hotel for bout 8 yrs now and every yr they like it more.
the activities outside the hotel that we booked from the reception and was picked up by minibus to take and drop us off at no extra expense.
i would definately take my family bak to this hotel and the kids have already asked to go bak nxt year and id b happy to take them bak!!!
i have so much respect for them entertainers, as they have to speak many different languages and they do to please every1.
altho can picafort is a quiet part of the island we did go out to a really good club called skau bar just down road that i would recommend for clubbers it also has a kareoke bar upstairs.
i would also recommend the boat trip to formentor its 5 hrs long but amazin sights, and u also stop to scuba dive or swim in the turquise sea.
i would def recommend this hotel for any age there is something for every1 and majorca is a great place to explore. have fun and mayb see some of u there some day x x
Advice: quiet part of majorca but still a lovely place

" Good value 3 star hotel. "
Submitted By: chelseaboy85The restaurant food was very good. Always a good selection of meat and fish mains and wide selection of desserts. The bread was particularly good. Self service soft drinks was also good. Sometimes the restaurant got a bit crowded and meant finding a laid table was not so easy. The grill and snack bars were both tasty and quick serving. I notice some previous comments on long queues for the bar. Some evenings they could get a bit long (5-10mins queue) but never anything worse than a typical wait in a UK bar/club. Never had to queue more than a minute during the day.
Swimming pools were good, although the water feature in all the brochures seems to have broken. Only main criticism of the hotel is that the pool area was not kept clean enough during the day. Too often there would be left over plates and drinks lying around that would attract flies and wasps. Someone walking round tidying up rubbish and wiping down sticky tables would have easily solved this. Entertainment was typical of Spanish hotel. All illusion based and bingo in 4 languages.
As a 3 star, it offers no more or no less than what you expect from a 3 star. Overall I'd certainly recommend this hotel and enjoyed my holiday there.
Advice: Really nice town, plenty of shops and bars but not rowdy.
Activities: Blue bar along the promenade was nice, also the Cocktails in the Jamaican bar were something special
Good for: Beach
" QUES BAD ATTITUDE FROM THE STAFF ! "
Submitted By: mackas20Food is repetitive Paella, chips, salad, french bread , loads of pork -every night. Sweets/ desserts are awful and always the same - what a nightmare. Jelly, mouse, small cakes which are always the same ...
Mini Disco is good for the kids and also entertainment staff are good and smile but noone else does on the staff !
Sorry it really isnt good
Advice: GO TO A 4* OR SOMEWHERE ELSE ! NOT CLUB TONGA ! Beach is lovely though and the market is good.
Activities: Beach and Monaco restaurant - locally. Entertainment staff are good and thats all thats good
Good for: Beach
" Too busy "
Submitted By: marko2002When we arrived at reception, we were greeted by a seriously lot of noise from the lounge and one person was actually at the reception complaining about the length of queues at the bar area. When we ventured down to the lounge after dumping our cases and complaining about the rooms we joined a queue of around 20 deep. Asking for a round of drinks, we were told we could only get 2 each but explained we were a party of 6 and didn't want to have to join a massive queue again. This was met with some ranting from the bar staff but after we explained someone else had just walked away with 4 drinks from the bar they reluctantly and rather rudely served us.
We had one drink each and decided to leave the lounge because of the noise and crowds and took a stroll.
The next day we moved rooms and had breakfast which was pleasant, the bar area was quiet enough at this point and we took advantage of it and the kids had slushes and we sipped coffee. By 10am it was hectic again, could hardly move, the pools were jumping, seating was all over the place, voices were loud so we left again for another stroll. By this time we realised this wasn't going to be the place for the relaxing holiday we had hoped for and so basically each day had breakfast and left the hotel in favour of the sea-front bars which were much more hospitable than the hotel bar. We obviously had to pay for our drinks at the sea-front but it was worth the better service and more pleasurable surroundings.
The restaurant staff were nice, as were the cleaning staff and reception area, we only really had a problem with the bar staff who seemed to get on better with those who frequented them for booze rather than those who didn't want to drink alchohol all day!.
We definately didn't use the all-inclusive feature of the bar area which probably added a considerable sum onto our holiday but to be honest by the time the second week came the hotel was even busier, there was nothing other than the pool for our 13/15 year old kids to do, unless they wanted to whack a tennis ball around in the blistering heat so spent most of our days at the beach which was fantastic. Our holiday was nice, but it was our own making and I would definately not stay at this hotel again in future, even at night we chose to take a short walk along the main drag to a quieter coffee shop with outdoor seating just to get away from the ramble of the hotel.
The lift's in the hotel (3 of them) were appauling in service, with us often waiting in big queues for anything upto 10-20 minutes day and night with ignorant people often trying to barge in front of us and my disabled father-in-law in the wheelchair. It definately felt like every man for themselves here. All in all, the hotel is acceptable for those who like a noisey and busy environment but if you want a quiet, relaxing break away from it all it's a definate NO NO from me. In fairness though, we could have checked it out a little more and we would probably have found this out ourselves, so I guess this is what many people would expect from this hotel but it wasn't what we were looking for which added to our dissapointment.
I have gave a rating of 7/10 for the hotel but simply because it did cater for us, just not our cuppa tea!.
Advice: Yes, it is a nice place and I would return here but just not the hotel
Activities: Cafe Brazillia for a quiet night on the main drag and Trotters on the beach during the day!

" booked one weeks holiday at club tonga "
Submitted By: jojo68now to club tonga had a great week there do not no why people complain.
FOOD: i found really nice a plenty of choice although the desserts were not very good for adults.
ROOMS: were basic but clean and had maids who were lovely clean every day, only one plug socket in room and only works when you have your electricity card in as its the same as the door swipe card all air con and lights go off when you leave your room (good for the environment but pain if you want to charge your phone etc.
POOL/ fantastic 3 all together although the tiles round the pool can be very slippy.
BAR/ENTERTAINMENT: kids can only get 2 items each time adults can get 4 yes they were served in plastic cups for safety reasons but after 8pm they are served in glasses good measures plenty of choice. bar staff not very smiley but they work so hard max wait time was 10 mins at peak times. entertainment was so bad it was funny all though i did enjoy the sat night fever night. entertainment staff worked so hard and did try but sorry guys it was not good!!
AREA: fab safe and great shops and bars beach lovely but choppy sea>
all in all had a fab time at hotel tonga great for a clean/ 3 star went with my 3 teenagers and they loved it would defo go again.

" mass catering mediocrity "
Submitted By: titrwmBad points- The food was repetitive and in terms of standard about works canteen level, the desserts were particulalry boring, repeptitive and of a standard suitable for a young kids party. The bar staff were frosty to say the least and the guy who served behind the snack bar was so extreme, scowling at anyone who dared to place an oder that he was actually quite funny!
The entertainment was all in-house and whilst the team worked very hard and were enthusiaistic, the standard of the shows was very basic - a couple of evenings of local music etc would have been a welcome break.
On the whole a well run but conveyor belt type hotel, mediocre and uninspiring
Advice: C'an Picafort pleasant but nothing special- not much character but great beach

" Great Entertainment but watch the queues "
Submitted By: Hugh JarseParty was 2+1 plus my wife's elderly brother Len
First week was really great, not too long queues but once the hotel started to get busy was bad news.
Entertainment was 1st class, something for everyone
Pools were good, but need to get up before 8.30 to beat the Germans down to the lilo's to get your towels in place - or forget a good spot.
Food - great - but pick your times carefully & be prepared for same sweet selection every day
Drink - only one bar with max 4 drinks per adult, except 11 to 12 restricted to 2 drinks. This would not be so bad, if the size of the drink was reasonable, but all drinks were only served in small plastic cups - about 3 to a 1/2 pint. Between 9 & 11pm the wait for drinks was far too long, Friday before we came home I waited for nearly 20 mins in a horriffic queue at the bar. Bar staff were prenty crumpy and well over worked.
Lifts - only 4 lifts, for 14 floors, 30 rooms per floor. In peak times the wait for lifts was not good. Of the 4 lifts, 2 of them could only take a max of 5 people. The Hotel really needed at least double the amount of lifts
Beach was a 5 minute, 1/2 mile walk, but was very narrow and busy.
Plenty of bars and places to eat, with a fair selection of shops
Overall - good - but would go earlier, when not so busy
" Relaxing "
Submitted By: Lind1We didn't plan to be party goers and we weren't expecting anything fantastic. The hotel itself is clean, looked after and well presented. Majority of the staff there are English speaking and our Thomas Cook rep (Ryan) was very helpful. The pool area is spacious with lots of room for sun worshipers and was quiet enough for us to sit and read our books. The beach is a short 5-10min walk away and is beautifully clean with life guards on duty telling you whether it is safe to swim with their red, yellow and green flags.
The entertainment wasn't to our taste but the children seemed entertained with their participation. They held games during the day - "cocktail" games for adults and "cola" games for children. There are bars down the beach area which also hold entertainment nights - one bar specifically has tribute acts pretty much every night which was entertaining and we ended up eating there on our last night - the food was superb! We also did one excusion to Magaluf to see the Pirates show which was great value for money. I think it worked out £50 for transport to and and from Magaluf, meal, sangria/soft drinks and a fabulous entertainment show - great for all the family (and fantastic eye candy for the ladies!)
There's a market on every friday at the mariner which is great for getting all your last min souvenirs - remember to barter where possible!
Food was average and edible but then what do you expect for all inclusive?? Different selection on at lunch and eves which we were happy with.
All in all, as far as value for money goes - i think we definitely got our money's worth!
Advice: Great for a relaxing break
Activities: Head for the beach bars - some lovely hidden gems there for an eve out to eat for a break
Good for: Beach
" tonga "
Submitted By: joekincaidi have stayed in better but then again have stayed in worse, the reception is spacious, clean and the staff are helpful, the dining room is as the reception and is let down only by the annoying rope that is stretched across a part of it to stop guests from using all areas which at busy times can be infuriating and you have to ask for wine
the bar is a joke understaffed and you are served less than half a pint at a time and you are only allowed to collect fouf drinks two for her one for me and one for the child this will not improve because it keeps costs down.
the entertainment is somewhat patchy for example a cowboy night turned into what can only be described as a mr and mrs sex show so beware the content. the staff speak several languages but the games and routines are the same every day the food is ok but sometimes you have to guess what meat it is the beach is great and just down the road
all in all quite good and you get what you paid for will i go back? maybe but the wife wouldn't if you have stayed in the Lagamonte in alcudia then this hotel is miles behind it
Advice: lovely beach, life guards on duty
Activities:
Good for: Beach

poor food, poor drinks, poor staff, poor entertainment, poor rooms.
do not saty here, quees are at least 10 mins for drinks, the entertainment is rubbish, food is 2* at best.
im not going to go into every detail, bur trust me and book another hotel as this is the worst i have ever stayed in.
Advice: mo's bar over the road is cheap, trotters and jamaica bar on beach are also good.
Activities: not the hotel!
