booked one weeks holiday through low cost holidays i didn't hear great reviews about this company but had no problems what so ever and found them to be really helpful.
now to club tonga had a great week there do not no why people complain.
FOOD: i found really nice a plenty of choice although the desserts were not very good for adults.
ROOMS: were basic but clean and had maids who were lovely clean every day, only one plug socket in room and only works when you have your electricity card in as its the same as the door swipe card all air con and lights go off when you leave your room (good for the environment but pain if you want to charge your phone etc.
POOL/ fantastic 3 all together although the tiles round the pool can be very slippy.
BAR/ENTERTAINMENT: kids can only get 2 items each time adults can get 4 yes they were served in plastic cups for safety reasons but after 8pm they are served in glasses good measures plenty of choice. bar staff not very smiley but they work so hard max wait time was 10 mins at peak times. entertainment was so bad it was funny all though i did enjoy the sat night fever night. entertainment staff worked so hard and did try but sorry guys it was not good!!
AREA: fab safe and great shops and bars beach lovely but choppy sea>
all in all had a fab time at hotel tonga great for a clean/ 3 star went with my 3 teenagers and they loved it would defo go again.

god there are some moaners out there! the hotel was great i'd asked for a lower floor room as we had a pram so had to use the lift every time, the accommadated us on the 3rd floor which was great. our room was massive there was 3 beds and a cot plus a pull down bed. there was air conditioning and a ceiling fan, on one night out air con stopped working so i went to reception at 11.30pm and with in 10 mins there was a man in our room trying to fix it, unfortunately a part needed replacing so that night we had no air con which wasnt a problem we had the patio door open and fan on which was just as cool as the air con, by dinner time the next day it had been fixed.the food was lovely there was some moaners there, but we found the food to be nice even my 5 year old wanted to go back for second helpings and shes the fussy one, the pool area was nice and clean, didnt have to fight for sun loungers i always got 2 by the pool at 9am with loads still available. jael, alex, jasper, anna, nathalie, alicia and teddy were the entertainment team who worked really hard 24/7 it was all inhouse enertainment we all enjoyed it my girls especially loved the disney night and they get the kids to take part in it. sometimes the queues were long at the bar at night but if you timed it right then there was hardly a queue, we went when the bingo was on and just before the show at 10pm was on. there was a snackbar which served burgars, hotdogs, salads etc my girls had food from there which they enjoyed, the staff were all friendly and helpful, the hotel is situated in a cul de sac type road. we will b going again next summer

Overall this was a very good hotel and I would return again. The rooms were adequate and the food had plenty of variety for all tastes. The entertainment team where excellent with activities for those that wanted them throughout the day. The entertainment continued throughout the evening with shows starting at 10pm. The only downside was the queue for the drinks during the evening. There simply was not enough staff to cope with the demand. To reduce queue time people are only allowed to order 4 drinks per person before 11pm and then only 2 drinks from 11pm to midnight. I can't fault the cleanliness, which was spotless. We are (Brits) officially worse than the Germans for reserving sunbeds! I found one family had taken 23 beds for their party by 0800 hrs! How sad is that!! Club Tonga is definatley recommended, especially if you have children. I would/will return. As for the local area, the beach is excellent (Blue Flag) and there are plenty of bars and shops. Lovely walk along the seafront on an evening too!

Good points- The hotel is clean and efficiently run, there's a good range of drinks on offer and food plentiful with a wide range of salads and vegetables. The 3 pools ( 1 for small children) were fine and well maintained. The entertainment team worked very hard 7 days a week. The hotel is located about a 10 minute walk from a lovely beach and the bus to Alcudia and Porta Pollensa stops just over the road from the hotel. The maid service was very good and cheerful. On the whole reasonable value (but then we got a cheap deal!)
Bad points- The food was repetitive and in terms of standard about works canteen level, the desserts were particulalry boring, repeptitive and of a standard suitable for a young kids party. The bar staff were frosty to say the least and the guy who served behind the snack bar was so extreme, scowling at anyone who dared to place an oder that he was actually quite funny!
The entertainment was all in-house and whilst the team worked very hard and were enthusiaistic, the standard of the shows was very basic - a couple of evenings of local music etc would have been a welcome break.
On the whole a well run but conveyor belt type hotel, mediocre and uninspiring

Great Entertainment but watch the queues
7 / 10
Jul 2009, Hugh Jarse

Just back from 2 weeks at Club Tonga, with Thomas Cook
Party was 2+1 plus my wife's elderly brother Len
First week was really great, not too long queues but once the hotel started to get busy was bad news.
Entertainment was 1st class, something for everyone
Pools were good, but need to get up before 8.30 to beat the Germans down to the lilo's to get your towels in place - or forget a good spot.
Food - great - but pick your times carefully & be prepared for same sweet selection every day
Drink - only one bar with max 4 drinks per adult, except 11 to 12 restricted to 2 drinks. This would not be so bad, if the size of the drink was reasonable, but all drinks were only served in small plastic cups - about 3 to a 1/2 pint. Between 9 & 11pm the wait for drinks was far too long, Friday before we came home I waited for nearly 20 mins in a horriffic queue at the bar. Bar staff were prenty crumpy and well over worked.
Lifts - only 4 lifts, for 14 floors, 30 rooms per floor. In peak times the wait for lifts was not good. Of the 4 lifts, 2 of them could only take a max of 5 people. The Hotel really needed at least double the amount of lifts
Beach was a 5 minute, 1/2 mile walk, but was very narrow and busy.
Plenty of bars and places to eat, with a fair selection of shops
Overall - good - but would go earlier, when not so busy

Relaxing

Myself and my friend decided to book this. We were on a budget and our only perks were that we wanted sunshine and a pool and or beach pref all inclusive as the euro is so bad at present. This is what we got!
We didn't plan to be party goers and we weren't expecting anything fantastic. The hotel itself is clean, looked after and well presented. Majority of the staff there are English speaking and our Thomas Cook rep (Ryan) was very helpful. The pool area is spacious with lots of room for sun worshipers and was quiet enough for us to sit and read our books. The beach is a short 5-10min walk away and is beautifully clean with life guards on duty telling you whether it is safe to swim with their red, yellow and green flags.
The entertainment wasn't to our taste but the children seemed entertained with their participation. They held games during the day - "cocktail" games for adults and "cola" games for children. There are bars down the beach area which also hold entertainment nights - one bar specifically has tribute acts pretty much every night which was entertaining and we ended up eating there on our last night - the food was superb! We also did one excusion to Magaluf to see the Pirates show which was great value for money. I think it worked out £50 for transport to and and from Magaluf, meal, sangria/soft drinks and a fabulous entertainment show - great for all the family (and fantastic eye candy for the ladies!)
There's a market on every friday at the mariner which is great for getting all your last min souvenirs - remember to barter where possible!
Food was average and edible but then what do you expect for all inclusive?? Different selection on at lunch and eves which we were happy with.
All in all, as far as value for money goes - i think we definitely got our money's worth!

tonga

just returned home from a week at the Tonga myself wife and six year old grandson. i have stayed in better but then again have stayed in worse, the reception is spacious, clean and the staff are helpful, the dining room is as the reception and is let down only by the annoying rope that is stretched across a part of it to stop guests from using all areas which at busy times can be infuriating and you have to ask for wine the bar is a joke understaffed and you are served less than half a pint at a time and you are only allowed to collect fouf drinks two for her one for me and one for the child this will not improve because it keeps costs down. the entertainment is somewhat patchy for example a cowboy night turned into what can only be described as a mr and mrs sex show so beware the content. the staff speak several languages but the games and routines are the same every day the food is ok but sometimes you have to guess what meat it is the beach is great and just down the road all in all quite good and you get what you paid for will i go back? maybe but the wife wouldn't if you have stayed in the Lagamonte in alcudia then this hotel is miles behind it

Jun 2009, a&m + 2

Have just returned from club tonga, was a bit wary beforehand after reading some of the comments, but went with an open mind.On arrival was disappointed with size of room, 4 single beds crammed in, but we thought 'oh well' it's only for sleeping in, but sleep is not what you get a lot of. Kids just running up & down corridors late at night. Drunken people banging on doors, arguing & shouting. It only took 5mins to look round complex. Not alot for our 2 children to do aged 12 & 14. They were counting the days to come home! Cant really complain about food, was plentiful, although repetative, pork served most nights, really fatty though. Didn't have to queue long for drinks, bar staff not very friendly. Entertainment was too bad to watch. Rooms were not cleaned very good, towels changed regular, but sheets were not changed for the whole fortnight. On the plus side can picafort is lovely, we spent all of the days at the beach which is lovely, only a 10min walk from hotel. Weather made this holiday though, plenty of sunshine, hotter than we thought it would be for this time of year. Wont be going back though.

I took my wife to the hotel tonga for a short break. It was our first holiday on our own for 26 years. My wife is the fussiest person I know and even she couldnt find fault with the hotel. It was clean, friendly and the staff couldnt have been more helpful. The food was amazing , always fresh, loads of choice and plenty of it. A little bit of queuing but no worse than my local town on a saturday nght when your paying for it!My niece jioned us half way down the week (coincidence she booked the same hotel at the same tme)and she had her husband and twin 4 year old boys with her. The entertainments team worked tirelessly, if you wanted to join in that was fine but they didnt hassle you if you didnt want to.The cleaning staff should get an award the hotel and the rooms were immaculate all the time.Cant wat to go back. Can Picafort itself is a lovely place for a quiet break wth beautiful clean beaches.

we have just returned from a fantastic holiday there and want to go back. the food was fab, the entertainment for the kids and adults alike was absolutetly fantastic, all of the staff were lovely and always happy and polite ( except one moody resturant worker) . there were queues as you would get in this counrty at the bar ( after a certain time) we didnt have to wait long in the queue as the staff were fast at serving ( 5 minutes) tops.we would highly recomend the club tonga and will return. thanks to all the staff there who made our holiday the best .....

Why do people moan so much???

May 2009, Jazzymatazzy

I have been to the Club Hotel Tonga ever since I was a little girl. I think I was 8 or 9 the first time I went. I cannot say anything negative about the Hotel. The last time I went was 5 years ago and even the Hotel Manager recognized me. Now that is something!!! I was very surprised! The staff are all friendly and try and do their best in the busiest of times.
I will be going again in 4 weeks time and cant wait!!! This time I will be taking my son, who is two along, and am sure that he will have as great times as I used to have! So, see you there!!!
