Jul 2008, Mrs E Roberts

We have just returned from a fortnight in Mallorca and stayed here at Club Tonga,
Overall it was a very enjoyable holiday, the only problems we had was the lifts, the room sizes and the queues for the bar, everything else was spot on!
The lifts are quite small and take ages, and it isnt helped by rude, ignorant people (mainly Germans and French) who dont know the meaning of the term "wait your turn" or "form an orderly queue"
The room itself was cleaned everyday with the sheets and towels also changed daily, however it is very basic and small, we are a family of 4 and struggled for space, there was only 1 plug socket, there is no equipment at all other than beds x 4 (1 of which is a pull down) non of which are full size, 1 bedside table and a mirror.
The queues for the bar are horrendous, the staff are absolutely fantastic, however they can only go so fast! so it really isnt their fault. We explained to the reception when we was leaving that they should think of employing more staff (as the bar is quite big, but most is closed off) and they just smiled and shook their head
We didnt have a problem at all with the food and compared to a few different all inclusive hotels we have stayed at, it was brilliant. We did find that the lunch and evening meal were very similar so we went to the snack bar most lunch times, Where you can have burgers, hotdogs, chips, salad, bbq'd meat and toasties etc (the toasties are to die for!) The guy on the burger bar has a bit of an attitude problem, But the guy on the toastie bar, Miguel (i think) was hilliarous and had us laughing every day
The entertainment staff were great, friendly and very approachable, my kids thought they the best thing since sliced bread!
They were on the go from 10am till at least midnight every day, my hat goes off to them all, and i cant thank them enough for keeping the kids amused, entertained and safe
The pools were kept clean and well maintained, the only gripe i had was people reserving the sun loungers at silly o'clock in the morning and then not going on them till well into the late afternoon, not really the hotel's fault, however maybe some sort of rule such as if the loungers haven't been in use within 2 hours or so your towels will be removed, could help.
All in all this was a good holiday, i personally wouldnt go back, (due to the room size and lifts) but value for money was great!!

we were a party of 6, we got back from club tonga last week and a good holiday was had by all, our rooms were very clean but we didnt realise untill the last day that if we wanted clean sheets we had to leave the dirty ones in the bath, staff worked very hard and were very helpfull, this resort was a bit busier than what we are used to but the children loved making friends. food was good continiously available and lots of choice, only complaint are that the kids club in the day was non existant and if it was on you had to pay for it. also we did not enjoy listening to the entertainment in 6 different langues bu overall we got what we paid for.

Jun 2008, Mrs D Greensill

We first went to Hotel Club Tonga 10 years ago when our sons were aged 12 and 14. We had no complaints then and we were somewhat disturbed to read a few bad reviews about this hotel once we had booked a group holiday there this year, as the reviews painted a very different picture to our previous experience. Anyway, we took a party of 22 people there for an all inclusive 7 nights stay in May. The group were aged between 14 and 50. We had a FABULOUS time. Lots of activities to join in with in the day if you wanted to and the resort itself is absolutely beautiful. We have no complaints at all.
The reception staff were very helpful and friendly. We did have a few problems with 3 of our rooms but they were dealt with effectively and timely. The food was fine with plenty of salad, pasta, chips, fish, bread and meat. Lots of desserts and ice creams too. Yes, there were queues at the bar, what do you expect, it's a huge hotel and it was full. I did not find the bar staff rude at all. Yes, there were lots of Spanish and Germans there, but what's the problem with that? Yes, there were lots of children, but come on, it was half term and you would expect there to be lots of children there. The evening entertainment left a bit to be desired, but it was not a problem at all and there was plenty of local entertainment if you wanted to go and see it instead of staying at the hotel. The rooms were basic but cleaned every day, with fresh towels and linen as needed. All in all, we had a great time and our group would have no hesitation in booking again at Hotel Club Tonga, it has provided us with a lot of very happy memories once again.

Just come back from a so say family...

Jun 2008, Miss D Terry

Just come back from a so say family hotel and can tell you that it certainly isnt ! Read a load of negative reviews on it but thought it was the brit moaning thing but totally agree with most of them ! The family room was clean but had no where to put all of our clothes so we lived out of cases for the week. The balcony moved when you touched it so we had to keep the doors locked although that was still unsafe as the glass on the bottom was not sealed and moved over an inch when you touched it! Did ask to be moved but they could only offer the 10 th floor,we were on the fourth anyway and have a 4 year old and a 2 year old so didnt want to be that high up.They did repair our door but we still couldnt open them because of the balcony. If you were unlucky enough to be on the fourth floor which most of the families were, there was only one lift which you could just about get a pushchair in and one person. There were 2 larger lifts on the other side that stopped every where but the fourth floor. This resulted in huge ques and most people just carried their children and push chairs up and down the stairs. The Spanish pensioners come to the hotel friday to sunday and then all the lifts go to all floors..how convenient ! The childrens club and entertainment is run by the hotel and is fine if you are spanish or german or if you would like yours kids to dice with death in the park of danger ! It was hilly and had scaffold pipes sticking out of various areas of the grass ! The slides had a huge drop at the bottom with not even a bit of sand to cushion the fall ! The staff were un helpfull and rude, the restaraunt food not as bad as some reviews said and was something edible most days ! There were 8 of us,6 adults and 2 children. We have more cause to complain as we booked thinking it was a child friendly hotel. Our friends think the same as us though regarding every other aspect.
If you are looking for a fun packed holiday full of near death experiences and with lovely rude spanish and german people .this is the place for you! The one thing that is lovely is the beach, clear water and safe for the kids..if you can put up with the untold packs of german people telling you to take your children off the beach as they are too noisy!! Club tonga......more like club danger...................never again !!!!"

PLEASE, DO NOT GO TO THIS HOTEL. I've been on a few holidays before and this is by far the worst holiday iv'e ever been on. I don't really know where to start, the resturaunt is discusting. The knives folks and spoons ALL have food on them, i found myself trying to dig clean ones out which can take quite a while, so i suggest checking them before you start to eat, or giving them a whipe down atleast first. That's if you can find a table..They BLOCK HALF of the resturaunt off with a red marker, you cannot cross this red marker, even if there's is 1000 people at the hotel and there's no clean tables to sit at. No no, it gets better, locals come to stay Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Say a couple of hundred of them. Guess what, they come and the red marker disserpears, they go..it comes back, dreadful. Also if you wan't to come back looking like a chip, because thats the only thing there is to eat, unless you like bowls full of salad everyday three times a day. The meat is just untouchable i couldn't even tell what it was. The manager of the resturaunt said and i quote "We have to many people at the hotel to clean the cutlary properly" GREAT! If you have any problems with movement, don't try to get a lift, because you won't see it come down or up for the next half an hour. And when you do manage to get one there that small that you let all the older people in and walk up the stairs anyway. Good daily work out though. The bar is a joke, they only have two people on at the bar at night so when there's a thousand people staying at the hotel, this takes around half an hour to get a drink. You find yourself lining up at the bar three times in a row just to get enough drinks for yourself nevermind anyone else. The entertainment is so so, there's no adult entertainment on atall which is kind of a let down, but the animacion crew who do the entertainment are all really nice people. They do lots of activities in the day which is good. Volleyball, football etc. Overall, its not worth the money to come and stay at this hotel and i'm only 19.

The hotel was very clean as was the rooms. Felt the staff were over worked for the amount of people staying there. No enough space down stairs in bars in the evenings. Entertainment was ok, but not varied with the same old routines. Far too many young children for me and probably not enough for them to do. Did not like the staff taking my plate away from me in the restaurant before I had finished my meal. Stayed in better stayed in worse. No bad value for money.

Well firstly we (my boyfriend and I)...

Jun 2008, Miss J Ganley

Well firstly we (my boyfriend and I) laughed when we got there because we were expecting "wild dogs" everywhere and inedible food which a lot of people on this seemed to have complained about. To be honest anyone who gave it lower than 5/10 are just really fussy!
Breakfasts were variable and the fresh bread was lovely, boyfriend loved the beans, egg, The reception staff were very helpful and the maids did a good job keeping our room clean and changing our bathroom towels every day.bacon and sausage he ate most days.
Dinner was also variable offering salads, hot food and always really good chips!
Tea was similar to dinner.
Drinks were very good, not much queuing but on the weekend days we were there lots of Spanish retired groups staying at the Hotel just for the weekend and they were very loud and pushed to the front of the bar queues.
You can get drinks from the bar inside or access the bar from outside too. The cocktails were good and we liked the 'Baileys'!
Snacks were very good as you could just grab a hotdog etc. in the afternoon by the pool if you didn't fancy going to sit down for dinner.
Pool was great, not too crowded as there was a baby pool and a smaller pool for children and parents.
Entertainment staff were brilliant. I admired their energy and skill at saying everything in five languages. Was a little annoying that they announced everything in so many different languages but I also quite enjoyed listening to it.
Reception staff were very helpful and maids did a great job cleaning our rooms and providing us with fresh towels every day.
Yes, there were a lot of Germans, but also many Spanish, some French, some Italians and Polish, so it didn't seem too overpopulated with JUST Germans.
All the locals in the shops and restaurants spoke reasonable-very good English. However they appreciated our efforts at speaking a little Spanish: "Hola" "Por Favor" and "Adios". I also just think it's polite to make a little effort in someone's country.
C'an Picafort is a lovely area and the restaurants are good, offering English, Spanish, Italian and Chinese food. You must try a few cocktails in the bar/restaurants on the front by the beach!
For great days out we recommend Marineland (fantastic Parrot and Sealion/Dolphin shows!) and Western Water Park (brilliant slides and wave pool!).
We didn't want to leave the Club Tonga!
Definately recommend it for young couples wanting a romantic and FUN holiday! :)

Jun 2008, Mr J Sainsbury

PLEASE BEWARE OF THIS HOTEL.Make sure you check your knifes forks and plates for food left on them from other guests meals.Quite a few pepole fell ill.The food is greasy and not much choice. The staff shout at you for trying to find clean cuttelry and trying to find an unused table is a nightmare.Be prepared to get in line at the bar half an hour before you want a drink as it takes forever to get served. You dont always get the drink you have asked for and again the staff dont really care. The lifts are so small and take forever to arrive most pepole used the stair case and for those on higher floors this became a daily work out. With no air conditioning your room at night becomes an oven and having to leave your patio door open invites the mosquitos in to feed on you. There is no entertainment for adults as the hotel only caters in childrens entertainment which is repeated nightly.Be prepaired to be invaded by the locals every weekend who come to stay at the hotel friday saturday and sunday. This makes the weekend a nightmare trying to find a seat in the resterant also in the bar areas. If you do find a seat dont leave it unattended as when you come back you will find the locals in it and they crack on they dont know what you are saying. You can find yourself in a queue and the locals walk straight to the front and get served and its no good conplaining because nobody takes any notice. The rep was a total waist of time all he could say was there is nothing i can do about it.We found more and more pepole eating and drinking out in local bars but be prepaired to use your credit card as the local food and drink is very expensive. The only staff we found to be friendly where the cleaners who did a good job keeping our room clean and tidy. The snack bar you can use during the day for hotdogs and hamburgers is also to be avoided as none off the food is kept hot and you recieve cold food that a lot of pepole got a stomock bug from which kept you close to the toilet all day.I could go on and on with lots of bad points about this hotel but i have better things to do so please be aware before booking this hotel. One last point, there was a party of 30 who used the hotel for a few years but said they would never return again as it had gone down hill so much they could not belive it.

having read reviews before our party of 10 left i was wandering what to expect we had 2 young children in our party so i was going on hols with a family attidtude in mind.i was quite pleasantly suprised the staff were all very helpfull hotel ok i thought the pool and gardens were top order always clean and tidy.the waiting at the bar was a bind sometimes but hey your on a package holiday,i thought the food was adequate a bit of more choice would have helped but on the whole always well cooked and fresh the dinning room can be busy at times.we had a pack lunch for the beach one day which was excellent.on the whole i would say if you have young family club tonga is a great place for a fun holiday.one more thing there is a very busy and dangerous road on way to beach take care when crossing it may look like a zebra crossing bit the locals dont treat it like one.

this is the worst hotel ive ever stayed in i dont normally write reviews but i felt i had to on this occasion to warn other people to not book this hotel and i,l tell you why i,l start with the food it was just greasy fatty bits of meat some of it i couldnt even tell what it was i wouldnt even give it to my dog and i promise im not a fussy eater we spent a fortune eating out EVEYDAY
Next, the germans, hotel was full of them only about 10 english people in whole hotel. They were VERY rude pushed in queues at bar and lifts and made lots of noise when they came in at 5 in the morning and woke us all up reported them but hotel not interested, the whole resort is full of them.
Entertainment only good if you like ballroom dancing grannies and bingo read out in 4 different languages we went out EVERY night to mo,s bar across the road its english and the entertainment was fantastic even had x box,s for the kids if you,ve already booked go there it was the only good thing about our holiday apart from the beach which was lovely.
pool was ok not many sun loungers, hotel staff very rude dont leave valubles in your room they will get stolen hire a safe in your room only 10 euros, queues were mental about 20 minutes for a lift and 30 minutes at bar to get a little plastic cup of beer
rooms small but cleaned everyday
All i can say is if you,ve not booked club tonga yet then DONT the people that have gave it 10 out of 10 must not have been on a good holiday before or they,re german
