Good clean hotel with lovely food
from Alba100
I spent a week at La Nina hotel in mid March 2006 and had a very enjoyable holiday. This hotel is situated in a shopping centre and my initial impression wasn't very favourable. The entrance is via a flight of stairs directly off the street and wheelchair users have to go round a long way to access a ramp. However once inside the hotel, the reception area is very impressive. Reception staff were welcoming although there was no bell-boy when we checked in to assist with luggage. The rooms are reasonably spacious, quite basic for a 4* hotel but spotlessly clean. Maid service was faultless, came everyday at same time and always changed towels, bedlinen when requested. The dining room was a pleasure to visit. There was a very relaxed atmosphere and the staff were extremely accomodating. There was never a problem locating a free table and the staff were constantly resetting new tables. The food was delicious at every meal, something to suit all tastes. Each night there was a different theme eg. Mexican, Italian, Chinese etc. as well as the standard basics which were always available such as salads, fish, vegetables, fruit etc. The guests were from a wide range of countries and all seemed satisfied with the variety of food. There was an attractive pool area with plenty of sunbeds. There was daily and evening entertainment. Overall, I would recommend this hotel for its cleanliness, excellent food and friendly staff. The only negative points were the poor quality of the facade and the floor tiles throughout the hotel which was unexpected in such a new building. Also, the hotel is positioned at the top of a steep ramp which makes access to the promenade difficult for wheelchair users or the elderly.
nice hotel shame about the food

just spent 2 weeks at the La Nina. it's a very nice hotel, the rooms are a bit basic but you can't fault the cleanliness. good pool area with a nice bar/cafe but we didn't rate the meals much. we went half board but i wouldn't do that again. most of the hot food was cold and tended to be a bit strange, i have never before seen a breakfast buffet that included cauliflower or peas and chips. thank heavens for the salad bar and the fresh bread. i would recommend it for bed and breakfast and the location is good. the building is ugly outside but don't judge a book by its cover
Great Hotel - Shame About the Management
from MajorCityTraveller
Just back from a week at La Nina. The hotel building is great, almost mini 'Las Vegas opulent'. Unfortunately both the food and the staff let the place down. The greeting from the mono-lingual (Spanish speaking) desk clerk was hopeless and when passed to his colleague who spoke English, found him to be cold and indifferent - particularly when I was sent to a smokey smelling room, having specified non-smoking and the attitude of many of the staff was found to be off-hand. There were of course some notable exceptions, particularly the room cleaners; they were delightful. But generally we were not made to feel welcome. As for the food; we were forced to pay for half board, which by day three was a chore to eat and certainly no pleasure. Utilitarian sums it up, dull and without imagination or flavour; what is that universal plastic that they make the 'ham' & 'cheese' from we wondered? Better to eat out than in was the conclusion. Great position and good pool area though.
Good clean hotel

Stayed here at the beginning of November excellent hotel, very clean, good food plenty of sunbeds the only fault we could find was that there seemed to be a shortage of staff in the dining room, therefore you were waiting for clean plates and tables to be cleared etc.Would go back to this hotel again.
fantastic

After returning from our recent holiday to tenerife I felt I had to write a review. Myself, husband and two children 3 & 9 had a fantastic time at this very plush hotel. We booked our holiday with Direct Holidays a year in advance as we had seen this hotel the last time we came to tenerife and it looked nice. In the brochure it said the hotel was a 4*, I have stayed in many 4* hotels in tenerife and none are of this standard. The rooms are a very good size, even with the 4 beds we had in there, the balcony and bathroom were also big. The rooms had clean towels and bedding each day. The resturant was open from 7.30 until 10.30 for breakfast with a varied assortment, even champagne if u so wished. The evening meal can be swopped for lunch if booked the day before (the food was very good and lots of show cooking so you now the food would be hot and fresh). Towels for the sunbeds are given out on a daily basis and can be changed as many times as you wish. The hotel has a good location, down a slope and you are on the beach. The kids club was very good, even if the girls who ran this didnt speak english (every other language) amazing how kids can understand. The facilities are good, swimming pool X 2 and kids pool, gym, pool tables, boules etc several bars. Lots of varied evening entertainment with a show every night. All the hotel staff where very friendly expecially with the children who had the best time. You can also keep your room on for an extra day if you fly late at night at a cost of 20 euro's (better than other hotels here) We have just tried to book this hotel for next october but unfortunately the 2 tour companies who have this hotel are fully booked already. We will definately return, without a doubt the best 4* hotel we have ever been in tenerife

we had 10 days in the La-nina at the end of september, the weather was really good and the area not bad, the hotel is only in its 3rd season but it looks from the outside like it is 20 years old, it looks terrible, it is a blot on the resort, it is a multi-coloured monstrosity, H 10 should be ashamed to have a hotel like this one in its chain. As for inside the hotel it is quite nice, the room we had was really spacious, on the 6th floor overlooking the sea and harbour with a large balcony( some are not) but the noise from the entertainment in the evening (mostly Spanish) was very loud because some of the corridors to the rooms are open and overlook the pool/bar area. The dining room food was average and cold most of the time, but there was a microwave oven to use if required. The pool area was good and we could always find a free lounger any time of day with free pool towels (deposit required) The majority of the guests were Spanish with about 5% Brits.
Good Hotel, dirty location

Just back from Tenerife, this was our first time and will probably not be back. The hotel was lovely - great rooms, lovely pool (with no one reserving any of the plenty loungers), food was ok but a little repetitive each night (although it was supposed to be themed - pork is pork wherever you come from!). Kids club was ok as was the mini disco at night - although they make alot of your kid the first week and then not so much of them the following week so watch out for disappointed kids. Outside the hotel, which is right on the street, it is pretty dirty to say the least, walk down to the beach area there is the usual mixture of bars and shops, but watch out for the hair braiders if you have kids - thye will pester you until you give in (10 euros for a single braid!!!!!). On the whole this was an ok holiday - the weather was fantastic, the hotel was spotless, but for us Tenerife was not what we had expected.
Not bad
from luccaboy
The hotel is quite good. Clean and quiet rooms. Lunch and dinner plentiful but not so various as I expected (the same type of food every time.... I expected like some typical cuisine evening...) The hotel is near Playa Fanabe' and Torviscas (5 minute walking) and you can easily reach the english quarter in 15 minute. For the italian and spanish night quarters it's better use taxi (very cheap) Greetings Stefano
Top Notch

Stayed at the H10 La Nina, Costa Adeje, Tenerife in April 2005. I could not fault the hotel at all. Rooms clean and spacious, facilities good. The buffet restaurant had penty to choose from and everything I tried was excellent also the waiters are very friendly and attentive. Carlos (Charlie) the bell boy will help you with anything! I have mixed feelings about the resort. The beaches are nice and there are some lovely restaurants in the area but wherever you go you are constantly badgered by timeshare touts, scratchcard people and lucky lucky men. I was approached 5 times one morning just going to buy a newspaper! If it wasn't for them I'd go back but sadly they've spoit it for me. The best bar, in my opinion, is Manhattans in the precinct at Puerto Colon. If you've got soul you'll love it! It you want some fun and a very friendly welcome try The Irish Rover.

Just returned from Tenerife, having spent weeks "All Inclusive" at the H10 La Nina. Our party consisted of 2 adults and 4 kids from the age of 15 to 9. We booked this hotel from the Thomson’s brochure, but we had also seen this hotel in one of the accessible hotels for... more
