Jun 2007, Mrs B Pickston

We had a great time in Gumbet. Club Pedalisa is in a quiet area but within easy walking distance to the centre (about 5 minutes) where there are loads of bars and restaurants.
The apartment was lovely with a great view of the sea. Staff very friendly and helpful.
The Columbian nearby does a great rib eye steak; do breakfast at the Red Dragon. Full English for £1. Take mozzie stuff, you don't see them; they sneak up when you're not looking!
I would recommend Club Pedalisa for families and for couples.

I think Club Pedalisa is one of the...

Jun 2007, Miss Elliott

I think Club Pedalisa is one of the best self catering hotels I've ever stayed in. The rooms were clean and quite spacious. There was a television in the room which had English channels and the usual requirements you would find in a self catering hotel (e.g. kettle, fridge and cooker).
The staff were very friendly and helpful. While we were sitting by the pool we had food and drinks bought to us, it’s the perfect place to relax.
The best thing about Club Pedalisa is the swimming pool and the hotel is only 5 - 10 minutes walk to the beach and bar street. The only negative thing I'll say about the hotel is that they weren't very efficient with supplying us with toilet paper so we did have to buy it ourselves!
I think Gumbet is good for families, couples, older people and young people. There are so many nice restaurants which serve delicious food but at reasonable price and brilliant bars and clubs to have a laugh in. However I do suggest giving the Turkish baths a miss it wasn't a very pleasant experience, other than that it was a brilliant holiday.

This hotel has given me my worst...

May 2007, Mr M Steeneveld

This hotel has given me my worst experience in many years.
The most critical function of a hotel is to provide basic amenities. No hot water! We asked nicely for it to be fixed.
Oh, yeah ...soon. Well that evening it was back on. The next morning no hot water again. We ask again, the answer... soon. So we sit around for an hour and a half but no joy. It turns out the other rooms had hot water and the hotel was nearly empty (perhaps we know why).
There was no thought to change our rooms. Also as others said... no soap or shampoo. Management appeared to be trying to channel business to the store on site (very nice people there).
Handles came off the windows, the door wouldn't lock. We complained, but no response. We later asked housekeeping and they showed us the trick we had missed.
Now here is the worst thing. We ripped a sheet. 20 lira charge (fair enough). but when I said ok we pay for our mistakes, what about the hotel not providing hot water? The answer... 'what could we do'? I said how about not charge us for the sheet... no way!
The room itself was roomy and the pool lovely, but the management of this hotel does not understand service.
If you enjoy cold showers try this hotel, otherwise it is nice until something goes wrong (& bring your own soap).

We stayed at Club Pedalisa last...
10 / 10
Oct 2006, Ms L Keir

We stayed at Club Pedalisa last October for 12 nights and were very impressed. The reception area is very clean, spacious and decorated to a high standard, as was the room itself. All staff we encountered were very friendly and helpful. The view from the apartment was lovely, over both the pool and the water beyond. The apartment was very clean and modern, and had a TV with Sky which was good for MTV background music when getting ready in the evenings. At the time we stayed, we practically had the pool to ourselves, which was excellent!
The location is good as you are within walking distance of the beach and the nightlife (about a five minute walk to both) without being stuck right in the middle of it. We would recommend the Mexican restaurant along the road which was a bit pricier than the restaurants in Gumbet itself but well worth a visit. You can catch a Dolmus at the bottom of the road which will take you to Bodrum for just 1 lira, and we visited there a few times. Gumbet itself has something for everyone.
The season is coming to an end in October, but it was still busy so I think we would prefer this to it being totally mobbed in the summer months. The boat trips are excellent value for money, but don't book through the reps and save yourself a lot! The trip to Ephesus was well worth it also. Great apartments, which we would highly recommend.

Just came back from The Pedalisa in...

Jul 2006, Mrs S Major

Just came back from The Pedalisa in Gumbet. Lovely apartments, very clean, perfect views and a great location!
The restaurant within the apartment has a great menu as well. Plenty of space for everyone around the pool. Friendly staff all over the place. (Previous commenter must have arrived at a very unlucky day!). One criticism re resort, it is quite a lively one. It wasn't our cup of tea with 2 kids. But Bodrum was lovely and only 5-10 minutes away in a dolmus.
One final note is about the company we booked with Horizons travel. Very helpful staff and a good quality service. The overall experience was a very relaxing holiday for me and partner. Kids! I had to drag them out (they are already asking to go back!)

Our experience at Club Pedalisa was...
4 / 10
Jul 2006, Mr M OBrien

Our experience at Club Pedalisa was not a very positive one. At reception, the lady didn't want to complete all of the check-in procedures because she wanted to have lunch. She told us to come back later.
As you can imagine, she was not very friendly. There was a 5 euro charge per day for air conditioning. We weren't really surprised with that, but we were surprised with the 50 euro deposit they demanded. The room was downright filthy, our socks turned black by simply walking across the room, so we had to wear sandals all of the time in the room. We expected there would not be many amenities, but we did not expect there to be no soap and only a few sheets of toilet paper.
Apparently they really didn't want their guests to use the toilets because there was a hose which ran from the wall and pointed out the base of the toilet which meant you couldn't really sit on it without the hose residing up you know where. There was also a sign which warned you not to flush toilet paper down the toilet. I would recommend you stay away from Club Pedalisa and pick a cleaner place.

We had never been to Turkey before...
8 / 10
Sep 2005, Mrs R Brooks

We had never been to Turkey before and were a bit apprehensive. There was no need! The apartments were very clean and spacious, with lots of room around the pool.
Staff were friendly and happy to help. We were situated just on the edge of Gumbet, about 5 minutes into the centre and the beach. It has just the right mix in September, plenty to do but not teaming with the younger generation (we are in our 50's).
The people are lovely and so friendly. The food is excellent with a very large choice. Getting around is cheap and very easy, the Dolmus stopped outside the hotel every 5 minutes. Excursions are cheap if you book them privately and they are well organised. Temperatures were around 35 degrees and I didn’t need a cardigan at night. If you have never been try it!
