my family and i have been going to club pedalisa for 3 years.the first year it was very good and clean we thought we had money go missing but we were not sure.the second year we had a male cleaner who was terrible we had to complain about him not emptying the bin in the bathroom .we went again this year and could see a big change in the place not clean round the pool towels were filthy the bed linen also dirty and the cover they gave you looked like it had never been washed.we also had ants in the bathroom the floor could have done with a good scrub.its a shame its going down hill because it was a good place when we first went 3 years ago.in august this year while we were there two families had their money and cameras pinched on the day they were going home.the bar staff shaun and his friends were great and always have been every time we have been there.sadly we will not be going back there.

CLUB PEDALISA REVIEW - SEPT 08
4 / 10
Oct 2008, jeffem2

Our first impression of the hotel was that on arrival we were asked for 30 against any breakages in our apartment which we paid. I couldnt believe that they actually have a list of every item that is in the bedroom and how much each item costs. We were issued with one toilet roll on arrival ( I did look on the internet before we left and it already mentioned that toilet roll situation so we took a pack of toilet rolls with us) You also need to take a hairdryer and handwash with you. ( I have been to Turkey 5 times and in every hotel we have always had a hairdrier in our apartment and also little complementary soaps in the bathroom).
On arrival at the hotel I had a stomach bug and we never had a cleaner for 4 days to empty our toilet bin when the rep mentioned on the coach that this is done every day!! also had no clean towels for 4 days neither, in the end I had to go and ask the receptionist for some. He was very helpful. When we did actually see the cleaner in person the only thing that she did every day was to empty the kitchen bin and the bin lining in the bathroom was never taken out and just the contents were emptied into a black bin bag. Our bathroom always smelt of urine everyday. We had to keep squiring perfume to mask the smell.
Although the apartment appeared clean on our arrival it was never cleaned at all during our two week stay. The apartment floor was dirty and dusty to the point that when we had a shower we would have to leave our shoes by the shower so that we could put them straight on our feet to keep them from getting dirty. I just couldnt understand how they can employ a cleaner but just to empty bins and give you clean towels and a bit of bedding now and again. Once she even took our wet dirty towels and left us with nothing so I had to go again to the receptionst to get fresh towels as I had an eye infection and didnt want my family to catch the infection. I think when you work hard all year round it is nice to be in a hotel where you can come in from a day out and there is a nice clean smell in the room, surely it is not much to ask. the last time we came was at the Jasmin Beach and when the cleaners came in you could actually smell the cleaning products that they used on your room. We tried to stay out of our room as much as we could as all you could see was the dirt on the floor, the dirty bathroom window and the smelly bathroom. We also used the games room where they have table tennis and a snooker table and the floor was also very dusty. But we still had a good time playing table tennis it is just not nice to be in a dirty dusty environment. If they could just sort out the cleaning it would be so much better. The receptionist (He looked like one of the italian brothers off Easters - he was very pleasant and was also helpful) the young man in the hotel's shop was always very pleasant and the young waiters used to play with the chidren and learn them dance moves to the music tracks. At the time when we were in the hotel it was very quiet and there was only a few people in the hotel.
Given the chance if I got a really cheap deal then I would go back but only if it was very cheap because of the standard of cleanliness of the hotel.
We always ate out in Gumbet and found that "The Columbia" was nice for pizzas, salads and steaks etc and our favourite restaurant has to be the "Red Dragon" where we had a cooked breakfast for 2 pounds every day and then 10 out of 14 nights we went back and ate there at night it was so nice. We also visited the Gumbet Bodrum Cafe every day without fail for a lovely cappacuino, and there food was also quite reasonable and even the locals visit there. They had a big chess site at the site of the cafe and at the back of the cafe is an open aired gym which was brill you could exercise and look at the sea view at the same time. And they even have a go cart racing track which was really good fun.
We also found that on nights out the way back to the hotel was very dark and not well lit.

Oct 2008, Mr P P Rutter

Club Pedalisa is great for a chill-out break. End of season when we arrived, therefore rather quiet, pool to ourselves, kids loved it! Rooms are of an OK standard, but clean. Solar panels mean you only get hot showers in the afternoon. Staff are brilliant, can't do enough for you, the lads work really hard. Pool area is nice and clean, but water is a little cold! Food and drink is OK at the hotel, but just 10 mins walk into the centre of Gumbet is a huge range of restaurants, steak is soooo cheap! Big T-bone about £11.
Would certainly consider returning to the Pedalisa. One thing that was mentioned alot on these reviews were thefts, however our Rep said she had heard nothing, surely if you were a victim of theft you would tell your rep...........................................

Just writing this review from Gumbet....

Sep 2008, rachel79

Just writing this review from Gumbet. Couldn't wait to come back. Spent a great week at Club Pedalisa. Rooms were great, well equipped and clean, air con a must! Weather is hot during the day although it does get a little cool in the evening. This is our second time in turkey and one of the best holidays we have. Friends that we came with had already been in june and said it was good and they are not lying.
We ventured into Bitez and loved it. Gumbet was described to us as party central, however we kept away from the bar street, and found that pedalisa is perfectly situated to be close enough to the bars if you want to go, or far enough away to chill and relax by the pool with its amazing view.
We ate four nights out, mistral, windy bay and red dragon, but found the hotel reasonably priced. The staff at the pedalisa make the holiday more special. Great holiday and highly recommend Gumbet and CLUB PEDALISA.
ps. you can take your 50 € deposit at the and of your holiday as we'll do
air-con payable locally as written on the brochure
nothing happened to our valuables left in the room while out(money, coins, rings etc.)

I can confirm as soon as we arrived...

Sep 2008, Mr S J YERBURY

I can confirm as soon as we arrived in the hotel we was asked to pay 50 Euro deposit for breakages, which i was not happy about seeing as i have never been asked to pay a deposit in any of the other hotels that i have stayed at. We had to pay a further £30 for air conditioning, which we needed as it was very hot!! We was offered a safety deposit box for £20 for a week, but we declined due to the reviews saying that money has gone missing from them in the past and we did not want to risk it. So before the holiday had even really begun we had to spend nearly £80....not a nice start to the holiday!!!
The general reception as you walked into the hotel on your first arrival was pretty poor as well, we was greeted with a rather rude young lad on reception - i belive you should feel welcomed when you go to stay in a hotel and i certainly did not feel like this when i arrived at Club Pedalisa.
As i mentioned, just before we set off on our holiday we read the reviews online and was pretty disgusted about the theiving so when we left our rooms we made sure that all money and valuables were with us at all times. We even went to the extent of taking photos of our items in the room before we went out and compare them to what they looked like when we came back - to see if anyone had been rumaging through our belongings. It was a completely uneeded stress, making sure that you bought everything out with you every time you left the apartment - its ridiculous. We did accidentally leave 15 Lira in one of our short pockets in the apartment one night and we returned to find that it had gone - so the rumours are true....theiving did happen at Club Pedalisa and continues to go on.
As for the rest of the staff (besides the rude young lad on reception) they were all very friendly and approachable, especially the fit dark spikey haired lad and the lad with blonde/brown hair - called Sean.
The pool was very nice and big and there were plenty of sunbeds to go around! We never ate at the Club Pedalisa, so cannot review the food.
As for the apartments they were very basic, we had no toaster - we may as well of been camping instead. The bed linen was disgusting and had stains on and it was very hard to go to sleep knowing what you are sleeping on. The general hygiene of the apartments were very, very poor....dirt, mould, stains pretty much everywhere - the other couple that we went on holiday with even had ants pouring in through a crack on their kitchen sink onto their worksurfaces. The bed linen was only change once in seven days. As for clean towels, we were only provided them once in seven days. The bins were only emptied twice during our seven day stay, which made the apartments smell. As for general cleaning etc, this didn't happen while we was there and it looked like it had never happened for a good few months!! DISGUSTING!!!
Word of warning about the showers, you cannot have a hot shower before 4pm in the afternoon due to the solar panel heating. So before 4pm in the afternoon, especially in the morning you will have a freezing cold shower - not nice at all. When we were due to leave we could not even have a shower as we was leaving early in the morning so the water would be freezing cold!!
I would not recommend anyone going to the Club Pedalisa and would definetely not go back there myself!

We have just returned from these apartments they are one of the best we have stayed in, very spacious and CLEAN we had towel and bedding changed every couple of days. I understand there was a problem with one of the cleaners but she is no longer there we never had a problem we left change on the side in the room and nothing was ever touched, and as for taking things out of the safety deposit boxes this can not be true as they have cameras all over this hotel. the staff are really friendly.Eating at the resturant was lovely and reasonly priced. The pool is big and clean there is NOTHING wrong with this hotel and i would recommend it

Just got back from the pedalisa! On...

Sep 2008, Miss R Hinson

Just got back from the pedalisa! On arrival we paid £30 room deposit - which we got back as fortunately we had no breakages! We also paid £30 for air con (£5 per day) which was much needed - so hot!
Our room was lovely - just the right size for the 2 of us - would have been extremely cramped with 4! The room was modren, nicely furnished, has a tv - but the only channel in english is itv3! view was excellent, we had a pool and sea view, balcony was huge as well!
Pool area was lovely, plenty of sun beds, pool is massive! Didnt really use the onsite bar/restaurant, ate there once and didnt think much of it - very basic and its much cheaper to eat in the town. There is an onsite shop which is really reasonable and has everything you need!
After having read previous reveiws about the thieving i spent the whole week panicing about been robbed so we left nothing in the room - all our lira and valuables went everywhere with us - did not risk it until the last day when i had packed my case i put my purse (which had some english coins inside) and had a 5 euro note with our passports, the note was pinched as was about £4 out of my purse - i actually feel sick that someone went through my things and had stole from us, its discusting. Were just thankful we had nothing else go missing.
Would i recommend the pedalisa? - no, i was on edge all week about the theiving that had gone on and feel so upset someone went through my stuff...Shame as the aparments are really nice and in a fantastic location (5-10 mins from town and beaches). i gave it 5/10 because of the thieves - else it would have been an 8.

Our 6th time to Turkey, 1st time here...

Sep 2008, Mrs J Bradley

Our 6th time to Turkey, 1st time here and probably the best apartment in Gumbet. Weather was very hot. Staff at the Club Pedalisa are fantastic will do anything to help. We stayed in 1300, 10 feet to the pool. These apartments are in a good location, 5 min to the bars street, and 2 min to the sandy beach.
I cannot praise the staff enough they are all friendly, work non stop and cannot do enough for you, receptionist is very helpful, the bar staff are brilliant and the pool area is spottlessly clean and plenty sunbeds. meals are good quality and reasonably priced and drinks also.Pedalisa is without doubt the most comfortable, clean, well kept, safe and above all else friendly place we have ever been. 9 of us loved there so much that we are booking again for next year and i cant wait to see all friendly faces again.

Good Apartments with many problems! -...
4 / 10
Sep 2008, Ms S Smith

Good Apartments with many problems! - Avoid till sorted!
Haven't read anything on this site which wasn't far from the truth!
On arrival £30 deposit. Asked for £60 for Air Con - actually paid £50 on departure.
Young lad on reception is always on the make - be it arriving or taking delivery of your takeaway, or paying for the laundry.
Yes oh Yes! The cleaners (1 Female + 1 Male) will thieve your money. Following site reviews, I set up check measures on our bedroom drawers when going out for the day.
One drawer opened up on 2 occassions and all 3 opened up on another occassion.
2 x £2 coins taken. The trap proven!
The last cleaning day, I actually watched them from afar go to our apartment, with a watchout - I sent my young daughter accross to find the male cleaner coming out of my room and leaving my underwear drawer open. That day, they only had to empty the bin in the kitchen which was already left out in a rubbish bag I brought with me.
Good sized pool but surrounding areas are filthy.
Sean, Mike & Co. are good lads but more interested in getting your teenage daughters down Bar Street followed by the local skinny dip.
No atmosphere in Bar in the evening - a real downer!
Pest control minimal - ants in the apartment and a rat persistingly wanting to join us for breakfast on the balcony - not the Barmen!
Could be a good place with proper management.
Do the holiday companies actually read these sites to learn anything?
