We have just returned from our first skiing holiday in Livigno. We booked the Bella Vista apartments on half board through Inghams.
The accommodation was fantastic - spacious room with a balcony. The food was fantastic - the restaurant was always very busy with residents and non-residents of the Bella Vista - it goes to show the service and quality of food available. The hotel and restaurant are run by a fantastic family - Rocca and his wife Ivana. The food every evening was fantactic with a hige range of starters, mains and deserts to choose from. After dinner we used to have a drink by the bar and the prices of the drinks were extremely affordable.
We would recommend the Bella Vista to all those planning on visiting Livigno - we will be back in 2012.

  • Advice: Close to all lift areas and town; fantastic service

Very friendly staff & a lovely family run place. Good food, Good service. Brilliant skiing and the free buses around the resort were excellent.
Something for everyone. If you're looking for a nice relaxing quiet holiday it's great and if you're looking for an adventure filled day and wild night it's you're sort of place too. Absolutley brilliant.

We left for Livigno in March 2009 and stayed half board in the Bellavista, this was my first skiing holiday and I have to say both Livigno as a place and also the bellavista was fantastic, would totally recommend staying at the bellavista, it is clean, friendly and the food is amazing. On a half board basis we got breakfast and dinner (let me say that dinner was 3 courses every night and the food was amazing)
I was part of a party of 16 and we had 5 apartments, night life in Livigno is also very very good, the bellavista is 100 yards from Marcos which is a bar/nightclub which is open everynight and gets a very good crowd, we went there nearly every night.
We could ski right to the door of our apartments and lift 18 is right beside bellavista which is where you have to meet for ski school.
I loved ski school, learnt alot and even had couple private lessons earlier in the week which was good cause it built my confidence and I was able to go on red runs and on my last day i done a black run twice.
A few of the people in our party of 16 would be regular skiers (maybe twice a season) and they had an amazing time and would definately go back to Livigno and stay in bellavista.

3 lads on there first skiing holiday we couldn’t have chose a better place then Livigno to start skiing, Livigno is an amazing village stretching the full length of the valley, but more amazing is the half board Bellavista Apartments where we stayed, rooms where basic but for the little time your in them you can put up with the basic facilities. Bellavista food it was fab after a good day skiing you there’s nothing better than a good hearty home cooked meal, bruchestta and prawn cocktail were very nice, you could have any pasta dish as a starter, mains you had pasta, pizzas fantastic veal and steak if your thinking of going to Livogno you must stay and eat at the Bellavista Apartments.
There are plenty of slops for beginners and intermediate levels of skier, the Bellavista Apartments are sat 100 yards from lift 18 where all the lessons take place, we had ski lessons for the full week and by the end of the week we were all hitting the red runs.
You have a choice of lesson times 9.30 – 11.30 we chose 11.30 till 1.30 which sounded good at the beginning of the week, we found after having lunch you very quickly ran out of time to get around the slops using the ski bus also the slops were badly chewed up by the time the 11.30 lesson starts, I recommend if you can go for the 9.30 lessons.
Airport transfer from Brescia airport to Livigno will take 4 ½ to 5 hours on a coach it isn’t that bad.
The three of us will be going back.

First I must say Livigno is amazing. If you’re flying into Brescia airport you will have a 4 ½ to 5 hour coach transfer, however it is so worth it! I was a bit skeptical about how long the transfer was but it passed really quickly. You stop after 3hrs and have a half hour break to get food and go to the loo. This stop is included in the transfer time and after that there is just 1 ½ hrs left! The views as you climb the mountains are brilliant and Livigno is beautiful.
The lifts open at 8.30 and close at 5pm. The village is in between 2 mountains so you have the luxury of going down both the carrosello and the Mottlino Mountains, there are loads of red runs so best for intermediates but as a beginner I was also very happy with the amount of blue runs there were. I had 6 days of snowboarding lessons, you get taught by a group called Madness and my instructor Roberto was brilliant! Your lessons are 2 ½ hrs long and by the end of the week he took us down plenty of red runs which was scary at first but very fun.
We stayed at the Bellavista Apartments and I HAVE to recommend this accommodation to everyone! The apartments are very big, clean. We had a bedroom with 2 single beds pushed together, there was also 2 sofa beds in the living room, a kitchen and a big bathroom. The maid only came once during the week we were there, on Tuesday but we didn’t really need it more than that, the bins got a bit full with empty bottles but other than that it was fine! The restaurant is the best place to eat ever! I’ve never had half board this good before. We got crossaints, crusty rolls with ham and cheese, yoghurt and cereals for breakfast then for dinner you chose a starter, main course and dessert. We ate like kings and the food every night was faultless, we ate food such as prawn cocktail, bruchestta, cured meats, soup, all sorts of pasta, huge pizzas, veal, chicken and steak and then desserts consisted of traditionally panna cotta or mixed ice cream with different toppings such as whisky, ameretto or baileys with biscuits sprinkled on top! The staff are brilliant, very friendly, and helpful.
We celebrated both our engagement and a birthday out there and both times they made a fuss of us and put a candle in our dessert and turned the lights off to sign to us!
Nightlife wasn't as busy as we expected but i guess everyone was tired! Marco's and Homeleywood are the liveliest and best places to drink at night and they are both right next to the bellavista apartments.
All in all this was the most amazing holiday I have ever had and will most definitely be going back again!

The rooms are fairly basic, but clean and comfortable. We had a two bedroom apartment with a balcony. One of the beds was in the main area with the kitchen facilities.
The best part about this holiday was the food. It's served in the main restaurant downstairs. You know it's good when you've got a constant stream of local people popping in for sit down meal or ordering to takeaway. We didn't have a bad meal for the whole week we were there.
The nursery ski lift is about a two minute walk, where you can then ski down to the main gondola. But the ski bus runs almost outside the hotel. There is a bar underneath the restaurant which is lively and reasonably priced.
The staff were friendly enough and the service was quick and thorough. We would definitely go back to this hotel when we next visit Livigno. (If we can stand the 5hr transfer). But well worth It.!!!

I went snow boarding last year on the basis that it cost no more than £600, as I had just bought a new house and things were tight. Thinking that this would prove to me that you get what you pay for, I wasn't holding my hopes up for the best ski break ever.
I couldn't have been more wrong as everything went from good to better. Livigno was beautiful and so romantic night and day, the hotel just oozed that log cabin feel from the outside in and with the open fire and the gorgeous food (and I mean gorgeous) me my partner and my friends were in our element.
The slopes are just amazing and for you boarders out there. There’s a great boarder park and some mini border cross runs right by the hotel. It really was that good and I could go on but I won’t.
I’m just booking to go again as I just couldn't risk anywhere else.
