HG Tenerife Sur Apartments

Just arrived back from a week at Tenerife Sur (although we'd booked at Cristian Sur!). we were told by the rep (Thomas Cook) that you could be allocated in either.
Anyway, our apartment was really good, (room 58) We had a huge balcony with our own loungers which was a bonus as the loungers by the pool were stacked away and locked up at 6pm until 9am !!
Only complaint was the apartment was only cleaned 3 days out of 7 and bed linen/towels changed 3 times. For what we paid I would have expected more frequently.
No enclosed reception area, so just as well the weather was good waiting for our airport transfer!
Reception staff were very friendly and helpful
Recommend the Shires (just down from the Angus Steak House) for breakfast/lunch and for evening meals and entertainment we could not better the Margarita 2 mins walk down the road opposite the apartments. Ali and Eddie are perfect hosts.
Would definitely recommend these apartments

what can i say stayed for 10 nights enjoyed all of them, room was cleaned every day fresh towels pool great for kids sunbeds with free cushions and very friendly staff. shops just outside for self catering

Club Tenerife the apartment we had was very good spacious and clean. Maid service good but expected better. Pool area was far to small for complex lack of beds,parasols to start with and you had to pay for the pads to use on the beds!!Never had to do this before plus broken beds. Pool not cleaned nearly enough very cloudy could hardly see the bottom.Also had to wait for sunbeds to be unlocked, people still using pool later than stated nothing done. Too small an area for the sunbeds. Not enough lights on the stairwells. Not suitable for the elderly or disabled in the complex ramps far to steep.Been once wont be back.

Couldnt fault it!!!
maid service second to none.
Didnt eat at resort bar but all local amenities on hand and a nice walk (yes up a hill) to the beach.
Enjoyed Los cristianos..Enjoyed this resort too and would highly recommend !!!

We stayed in tenerife sur appartments,we arrived home on friday 2nd april 2010.we stayed for one week and I could not fault it,the staff were very helpfull and friendly.the pool area was cleaned every night,the pool itself was clean with a seperate pool for little onesAll around there are bars and restuarants,we found people to be friendly.you have a walk to the beach but it is a pleasnt walk.We had a very good holiday.

I stayed at the tenerife sur for 4 nights.Ive never known a place that has been constructed so cheaply.If you like sleep or any peace it is not for you.All you hear all day and til 1am at night is doors crashing.The place looks like Alcatraz.It does not look
attractive at all.It is painted battleship grey not the colour that is on the website.Anyway all i can say that was good is that it is clean and plenty of clean towels everyday that was the only good thing is has going for it.Staff were pretty unhelpful when i complain about the doors banging,so i would not advise anybody to stay there

The shower didn't work properly and seemed too old, resulting in too cold or too hot water. The black furniture collected quite some dust. Matches for the gas stove needed to be bought. Television was not included after all. Air conditioning was a ceiling fan. Our apartment was on top of the restaurant's kitchen, so noisy and hot. One of the receptionists could have been friendlier.
But...
We were allowed to use our apartment many hours before the check-in time of 4 P.M.
The pool area was beautiful and the water temperature was lovely. Nice to know there was a life saver/socoristo there as well, cleaning up after all these lazy, lazy people.
There were always towels to spare in the apartment.
The maid had a great, warm smile!
The little supermarket offered freshly baked bread in the morning at very low prices.
The waiters in the restaurant were extremely nice, especially if you just started talking to them, showing your interest. They really opened up and showed their humouristic side. I have some pictures of them I will cherish forever.
The restaurant offers a nice selection of foods in the evening and a wonderful breakfast in the morning.
The evening entertainment in the restaurant by JuanMá is VERY funny. He is a positive person, faking everything he plays. The songs you hear are midifiles, played by a computer, connected to his keyboard. While it plays, he randomly taps his hands on the muted keyboard. It is so obvious, that it was very entertaining, especially because he waves at all people, while the music keeps on going. :)
The personal treatment we received, the wonderful pool area, the great location and the lovely food make that it was a fantastic holiday. I can take a lot for granted, just the treatment is special.
I am already booking my next trip to HG Tenerife Sur for January!

Good Things
Stopped at these apartments in June 09, rooms were good and v.clean, maid service was spot on, food at the pool bar was quite good also along with reasonable prices.
Bad Things
They dont like noise, pool bar shuts at 11.45, no inflatables in the tiny pool, on a steep hill and a long walk to the beach, few local bars, shakespears is the nearest with cocktails at a rip off 5 euors - local beer is 2 euros, food in supermarkets is expensive. Sunbed matress is also chargeable.
A few good restaraunts further down the road.

we booked through RCI & we were 8 people travelling, 4 adults & 4 kids. The apartment place was very clean & tidy with all the facilities.the maintenance is too good. everything is soo near. u just come out of you hotel & you get local tour bookings, the Internet/ telephone facility, the grocery shop, hotels, etc. everything within 1 km diameter. Even the pick up points for these sightseeing tours is walkable.
The kids were most of the time in the pool and had a great time.
Totally it was a very nice trip. would really look forward to come to this place again in future.
It would be good tourist spot for relaxation.
Most people were the people who just wanted to enjoy the sun & the beach

After reading the reviews for this resort, we can only assume that we were not in the right place. The standard of accommodation was poor and very dated, although it was very clean. Our apartment overlooked the road and therefore we had no view (and little sun) and constant road noise from 6:30am. Additionally the apartments are like being inside a multi-storey carpark with any noise resignating throughout the entire floor.
The apartment/complex is the worst that we have every stayed in since being a member of RCI in 1988.
Los Cristianos is a great place for a holiday and the surrounding bars/restaurants varied in standard, but we always found good places to eat/drink.
