Holidayed at these apartments from 9-16 December 2008. My overall impression was not very good. The reception staff were the most unfriendly that I have ever encountered - did not even wish you a safe journey home when checking out. The complex has lots of steps and several times I saw elderly people struggling up and down these steps with their luggage as there was no one to help them and as no assistance was offered by reception it was up to other guests to help them. The satelitte TV that is advertised on the web site costs 15 euros per week & 15 euros deposit for the remote control. The towels and bed linen was changed mid week but by the end of the week you could write your name in the dust in the apartment. The beds were comfy but the settee in the living room was very hard. The pool area is lovely & very clean. The buildings are painted are very dismal looking grey & this colour scheme is carried into the apartments. We had an apartment opposite some very noisy bars. Could'nt really recommend this. If you are looking somewhere that goes the extra mile, this place isn't for you.

Had a fantastic holiday at Club Tenerife, very pleased with the service and the entertainment was perfect for families. Walking to the beach was lovely it was all down hill, but walking back up was the interesting bit but after walking back just once just decided to take a cab the next time it was only 2 euros.
The weather was beautiful got nice and sun burnt!
Overall I was very pleased and I am planning a holiday there for 2009!

Just had a week at Club Tenerife. Very nice and clean. Apartments lovely and all balconies face the pool. Los Christianos is a lovely area. Plenty of bars and restaurants. Would recommend Bella Roma for a lovely meal and Bar 36 for entertainment. They put on tribute acts, Elvis, Beatles, Freddie Mercury (they were good). Avoid it when you see Rod Stewart, he is about 70 and terrible!!
The complex needs a bit of entertainment on it, that is my only criticism. Would definitely book there again though.

Would recommend Tenerife Sur - apartments were clean & comfortable, the staff were friendly. We went self catering. Good location lots of eateries and bars within 2 - 5 minute walk. Highly recommend Angus Steak bar great food at a good price. Lots of choice for cooked breakfasts Pitstop, Porkies and Cheers all offer good value and good food. Players Bar and Mack's Bar also get a thumbs up, staff and food - all good. The Wednesday evening catamaran trip was excellent! (The food provided was not great) but that didn't detract from the scenery and trip itself. For a relaxed enjoyable holiday I would recommend this location, good for a cross-section of people, but mainly families and mature age holiday makers.

Overall the holiday was amazing
I went with a group of 8 people most of us 18
Our room was just decorated and completely spotless, the cooking equipment was more than we needed.
The maids came every other day and cleaned everything top to bottom and i even found they had collected up my jewellery and safely stored them away in my suitcase rather than on show. We found the cleaners to be very good and discreet and were very polite. Loved the swan towels aswell.
The poeple were very friendly and helped us find everything we needed. The pool bar was a good addition outside with pretty good food at good prices. With that there was shakespeares selling food at good prices and having good entertainment if you didnt want to travel far. There are not many loud young people there so is good for families.
The only complaints i do have are not against the hotel but the location. The walk into town is down an extremely steep hill which to be honest i didnt find to bad, but trying to walk back up in no grip flip flops can be a little bit of a challenge.
Most rooms have very good air conditioning although i think my room had had one room fitted and the other not yet done.
i would happily go there again

We have owned at Club Tenerife for 17 years now and we love it. The walk down to the beach is part of the pleasure as it give's us plenty of chance's to view all the bar's and eaterie's on the way. We can then sample one or two on our return. Or get a cab if we are too hot and tired after a lovely day on the beach . Then we have a nice cold drink at the pool bar. There are plenty of lovely restauant's just up behind Club Tenerife, ie Bella Roma and The Belvedere who both serve excellant food. Then you have the chinese Slow boat very close at hand. A nice take away is a treat to be eaten on the balcony of our apartment. Have a nice cooked breakfast served by the very freindly pool bar staff and then have a lazy day on the terrace followed by a nice lunch. How good is that!

Great accommodation, beautiful...

Great accommodation, beautiful complex with stunning gardens and excellent pools. Great for families although we travelled as a couple. The snack bar did value for money baguettes and salads and was pleasant for a light lunch with a cold beer! The restaurant in the evening did a three course special for 8.25 Euros which was nice if quite basic. Location was good, about 15 minute stroll into town and there is a taxi rank right outside the complex where a cab into livelier Las Americas is around 5/6 Euros. We had a studio apartment which was ample for us size wise and kept spotlessly clean by the maids throughout our stay. If I was to nit pick, I'd say the utensils/crockery situation in the kitchen area was a bit lacking, but considering how cheap it was to eat out, we only catered for ourselves the once and managed fine. There is a Netto behind the complex where we did an initial shop for essentials, but kept this to a minimum as didn't find it particularly cheap. The Euro being the way it is at the moment, we found it cheaper to eat out, particularly when you can get a full english breakfast for less than 3 Euros! Had a great holiday and weather was hot and sunny overall although we did have a couple of cloudy days (but beware - you still catch the rays!). Would not necessarily return to Los Cristianos as we prefer a more traditionally local resort but for a bargain break in the sun it was great. High points were the boat trip to see the whales and dolphins and the special fish and chips at the Starstruck Cafe Bar. Although we tend not to favour traditional british fayre on holiday, this busy little place with it's friendly staff and homemade food was excellent - a large beer was only 2 Euros as well and you could watch the footy if you wanted! (Opposite O'Flahertys, down near the front).

I went to the Tenerife Sur with my husband and 5 year old son for one week. The overall view of the hotel was nice and we had a nice view of the pool. I was pleased with our room but the maid service was poor. The room was barely cleaned and there was dust gathering on the bedside cabinets by the end of the week. The pool was great but dangerous when wet due to the constant buffering at morning and night. I wouldn't really bother with the restaurant because the food is left in dishes on the counter not on the hotplate. The hotel was helpful and friendly and i would visit here again if the standard of cleaning improves.

Airport When we arrived at the...

Feb 2008, Ms LM Mooney

Airport
When we arrived at the airport we could not find our Rep. We located the Sunway stand and waited for nearly 20 minutes before she showed up. She informed us she had to bring people out to a taxi and left without supplying any of us with or coach number. We decided to try and get a taxi but the queues were horrendous. It was nearly an hour before we were on the coach and leaving the airport.
Apartment
Other than this mishap our holiday was fantastic. Our apartments were the first stop from the airport. Our room was very clean and spacious and our balcony overlooked the pool. Towels were changed every second day and sheets every third day. The rooms were equipped with an iron, ironing board, kettle, toaster, TV and safe. The only thing we could fault the room on was the noise and the shower. The shower had no power and to regulate the water temperature you had to play around with the hot and cold taps. Also, the rooms were extremely noisy. Unless you get an apartment on the very top floor be warned that you can hear every footstep and screeching of beds, chairs etc. against tiled surfaces.
The hotel staff and bar staff were very friendly. We were not impressed with the food so we were really happy that we did not go all inclusive. The pool area was quite large though it was shared with another hotel so it was difficult to get a sunbed. Expect a rush of people in the mornings putting their towels down. Also, the locals seemed to swarm the place at the weekend so I can imagine it would be worse in high peak season where the sunbeds are concerned. The best option was to go to the beach.
Location
The location of the hotel was fantastic. We were 10 minute walk from the harbour which had lovely restaurants and about 5 minute taxi journey to the Safari centre in Las Americas which had fantastic shops, coffee shops and a lovely beach. We were a nice distance (about 5-10 minutes in a taxi) from the nightlife in Las Americas; near enough to enjoy but distant enough for some peace.
I would not recommend the Tenerife Sur to gang of people going for a lively holiday as it is more catered for families. Also, I would rather stay somewhere nearer the beach in high peak season due to the overcrowded pool and lack of sunbeds.
Leaving the Tenerife Sur at the end of our holiday we got a taxi to the airport as we did not trust our Rep to pick us up on time after our experience with her at the start of the holiday. The taxi cost us around 25 Euro but it was money well spent!

Jan 2008, Mr S Smith

Booked with First Choice and was left feeling this was "worst choice" for number of reasons i.e. lack of help / contact from rep (we had our 19month child admitted into hospital for 6 days during our stay and received very little help or contact from First Choice).
Apartment was more basic than basic and considering the holiday cost £2k was not worth value for money in any way shape or description.
The swimming pool area was very dangerous due to being slippery, I saw a number of people fall, myself included.
Definitely not going back and certainly not booking with First Choice again.

First Choice booked us with Planatas...
8 / 10
Jan 2008, Mrs S Glew

First Choice booked us with Planatas Bungalows/Atlantico and changed it a month before to Tenerife Sur. Apparently Planatas didn't come up to standards - confirmed when we found it - yuk! A lucky escape. Premium flights were great - loads of leg room and priority baggage - well worth the extra money each. Transfer was fine.
Tenerife Sur - rooms quite basic and small but immaculately clean and kept so. Fresh linen etc several times a week. Endless hot water with good shower. Good pool view with very sunny balcony - brilliant. Pool and gardens are really lovely - although the tiles are lethal when wet! Bar set in middle of pools on a little island.
Unfortunately, very noisy karaoke bar at the rear of room but all ended by midnight, so not too bad. Bartender Lubo, is excellent. Very pricey though. Didn't use restaurant - some of the staff looked SO glum...!!
Couple of minor problems over the 2 week stay, safe wouldn't set when we first got there, remote for TV and one of the lights in the bathroom went. These were ALL fixed within 30 minutes of reporting - exceptional service and with a smile.
Used Taylors Lounge (sports bar) many times, wonderful hosts; Toro Tapas just two doors away matched the West End; Golden Resource Chinese restaurant (a little further along the road in the shopping centre) is the best chinese food we have ever eaten - anywhere - light and un-greasy. Would definitely go back. Thanks First Choice for giving us a very reasonable and enjoyable holiday.
