Just returned from Sa Caleta Apartments where I spent a great week with my husband and 2 children. We wanted a quiet week with out the hustle and bustle and that is exactly what we got.
Apartment clean and big enough for the 4 of us. Maid service a few times a week with clean towels etc. Great location on the pool side and on the ground floor which was ideal with 2 little kids. Children loved the pools which are very child friendly - although I do agree that getting a lounger was almost impossible before 4pm. Plenty of grassy areas to put out towels though so it was not too much of a problem.
Lovely small beach just outside the resort which again was great for the children. Everything is in easy reach and that meant we could pop back to the room for food and drinks etc. There is a larger beach 5 mins away which was nice to visit for a change. It was better for swimming but the beach wasn't very clean.
We visited Sa Nacra restaurant as recommended in some of the other reviews. The location was lovely and the kids enjoyed feeding the fish from our table, but the food was very disappointing. The steak house at the back of the beach was also a disappointment. Over priced and over crowded.
One excellent place to eat was Ocean. Food was excellent and v friendly service. Huge bouncy castle for the kids which meant we could enjoy a drink whilst the kids had fun.
If you fancy a take away there is a nice Chinese 2 mins walk from the apartments. In the same area are a few bars and a nice gift shop.
We took the advice of another review and took the bus which stopped outside the hypermarket. It didn't go near the hypermarket and we ended up on a magical mystery tour. Betterbuys was OK for general food stuffs and is about 3 streets over.
All in all a great holiday we would consider repeating again next year .Not for those that want night life and non-stop parties but for a quiet family break, it is ideal.

Have just returned from my trip with National Holidays where we stayed at the Concorde Hotel,on our arrival we were met by Peter and Aileen who are the owners,first of all our greeting was very warm and friendly and was very informative about the hotel.The hotel its self has gone through quite a lot of change since they have taken over with a lot of new decor anfd furnishing.
The evening meals were nothing fancy but just good plain english food cooked very well and always came out hot thanks to our all english waitres service was 10/10 quick and friendly.
The rooms were very comfortable and clean,including having a TV With some many channels.
The Bar staff well what can one say apart fom being on the ball with everyone geat to be served by such friendly bar staff who wanted to be part of this friendly team and not doing it because they had to do, and i must not forget the Hotels owners children who also worked within the team and were also polite and helpful,including our farewell departure as they came out to wave us all good by.The entertainment program was of good quality,and kept us all amused,from the comeadian to our last night of 50s and 60s music,who just happend to be outstanding,so overall I will be coming back to enjoy the delights of Torquay with this great team at the helm,and Will encourage anybody with sense to do the same .
