Hotel Description:
We are delighted the Hotel Camellot is once again set to be a popular choice for Pas de la Casa clients. The modest accommodation is backed up by friendly and welcoming staff and good service. As coaches are not allowed in the centre of Pas de la Casa clients will have to make the short walk up to the property on arrival, though luggage will be transported for you. The hotel requires a passport to be left with reception as a security deposit, this will be returned on the morning of your departure. loading...

" For location the hotel was ideal as... "

For location the hotel was ideal as situated right by the main slope to ski down to the lifts. Don't go booking yet though as the rooms were very tight for three of us we couldn't move as our three bags with the beds filled all the living space area.
We paid for half board but the food was terrible and I wouldn't give it to my worst enemy. Breakfast was poor and the evening meal was tasteless served to us in hospital sick trays. We went for food on 4 nights but every time we exited sharply and ate out for real food!
There were 12 of us altogether and one evening we accidentally knocked a bar stool over and the very next day the staff were trying to charge us a few hundred pounds to replace it, showing us a rusty old broken stool in the basement which must have been there for years as was dusty and the break on it had rust which was impossible to have happened within a couple of hours not even months - with the stool we had dented the day before was still in the bar. The staff were laughing to us and the tour operators as though it was a joke also threatening not to give a friends passport back. Crystal operator advised us they had many complaints and had warned the hotel. This hotel shouldn't even get 1/10, but the overall resort and slopes were good.

" We have just returned from a week of... "
Submitted By: Mrs H Masters
We have just returned from a week of great skiing and experienced the delights of the hotel Camel.Lot (this is really what it is called...honest!)
We got what we expected: The rooms were compact but very clean with piping hot water and toasty central heating, all we wanted as the skiing was our main priority.
Breakfast was buffet style and there was plenty of it. The choice was cereals, bread, ham, cheese, croissant, mandolins and yoghurt.
A typical European breakfast really, with loads of coffee, hot chocolate and juice to swill it all down.
The staff were always very compliant but it was difficult to get a smile out of them: I found many of the natives the same, so maybe it is their way in general. We didn't take offense; after all we didn't have to put up with them for long.
But we found if we wanted a drink in the bar after a while the bartender would put up the volume on the TV obviously signalling that we had outstayed our welcome! Again no problem, there are plenty of places to drink out there.
A couple of nights we stayed in with a bottle of schnapps (3 Euros) and got a take away pizza (8-10 Euros) all the mountain air and skiing not only makes you hungry but tired.
Overall we had a fantastic holiday and the hotel was fine for what we wanted, we didn't expect the Ritz!

" We've just come back from the Hotel... "

We've just come back from the Hotel Camelot and really don't have much to complain about.
It compares favourably to other 2 * hotels at the same resort and without much effort could probably be a 3 *.
The rooms are basic but comfortable, and the bathroom was clean and well equipped. It's literally 30 seconds from the Piste, and the continental breakfast is what you'd expect from a budget hotel - but there was certainly plenty of it while we were there!
Some of the staff look a little moody, but none of them were actually disagreeable, and special mention must go to the nice bartender from Barcelona who was informative, entertaining and helpful.
The bar never got busy while we were there, but despite this it was often really loud. Do take ear plugs, don't have high expectations and you might (as we were) be pleasantly surprised.

" I have just returned from my second... "
Submitted By: Mr G Kennedy
I have just returned from my second visit to Pas de la Casa, and my first visit to The Camelot hotel, on a half board basis.
The rooms are your basic holiday type, small bed, one cupboard, and local TV.
They are certainly clean enough, with a decent shower and a bath.
The hotel is well situated with around 2 minutes walk to the main chair lift, also close to a couple of supermarkets and popular bars.
The downside to the Camelot Hotel started when we went for our first evening meal. The evening meal is not a buffet style as we were led to believe, but in fact a 3 course meal chosen from a menu which changes very slightly every day. The helpings are very small.
Breakfast is a buffet style, with a fixed menu of stale bread, cheese and ham. Yoghurt and cereal are also available, but if you're not down to the dinning hall early enough there will be no food left.
The other problem was the attitude of the staff, out of the 7 staff we saw day to day, only one of them made us feel welcome. Especially the 'angry man' who served up, or should I say threw your meals at you.
The hotel walls seem made from paper, and can be quite noisy at night, the hotel doesn’t have its own disco as some websites declare.
I have given The Camelot hotel 5 out of 10, but I would give the food a 3 out of 10.
Please don’t be fooled by reports that Pas de la Casa is like 'Ibiza on ice', the nightlife is quite quiet, but the pubs and bars are quite busy around 5pm for après ski and happy hours!
After happy hours finish, it will cost you around 8 euros in a bar for 2 drinks, but a bottle of Smirnoff vodka can be bought in the shops for under 7 euros, so needless to say most people stay in at night.
I would recommend the resort, it has plenty for beginners and a few steep blacks, not to mention the various small snow parks to play in, and a bigger one nearby in El Tarter with a halpipe and other expert level rails etc.
I would recommend Pas de la Casa, but not The Camelot Hotel, thanks.

Advice: The village is set up for ski holidays mainly. There is a local well equipped infomation service
Activities: This is a ski location - little else to see with limited transport links
Good for: Ski
