Great Value Hotel
from deebag
Myself and my boyfriend stayed at this gem of a hotel last week and we would highly recommend it. First of all our expectaions were not very high because of some of the reviews that i read and about ongoing construction around the hotel, but we hoped for the best. We were very pleased with the size of our room, very spacious with a balcony area and kitchen area, large bed and bathroom, and tv with good channels, for the lazy evenings. The staff were helpful, especially Mohammed the bus driver who recommended places to eat etc. The shuttle bus will take you wherever for about 50c p/p! Taxis are cheap to get around in also. The 'construction' that we heard about was in fairness not the prettiest to look at, but there was absolutely no noise at all, they must build brick by brick (my guess work is slow)!! The food was good for breakfast approx 4.50 euro for buffet, and the poolside menu was also great with burgers, salads and panninis ranging from approx 2 - 3 euro! The only downfall for our week was that the swipe card system for the rooms was down so we had to bring a member of staff with us everytime we wanted to get in to our room.....but i guess there had to be something! Overall we were extremely pleased with this hotel and i definately recommend it for great value.
Indifferent

I stayed in a Studio Room which had a balcony with decking chairs and table, plenty of wardrobe space, a TV and kitchen with fridge/freezer and two hobs plus plenty of cutelry. The problem I had in my room was ants!! Well in the kitchen anyway. Got tired of spraying them and cleaning up to make sure there was not a scrap of food. The pool is not great but not too bad. There is music provided by the pool during the day so dont expect peace and quiet lol. The staff love to flirt with female guests and are friendly . My problem is that Morocco women are not aloud to even wait in the reception area. I tried getting my mate that I met who was moroccon up to my room but it was impossible.

Best Hol for a long time

We booked through Thomas Cook and stayed for a week on a bed and breakfast board. It was absolutely brilliant, the people at the hotel were so friendly and helpful. There was a breakfast buffet of pancakes, cereals, eggs, toast, croissants etc, but you can ask for anything extra like omelette's etc and they will happily make it from scratch at no extra price. The pool at the hotel is a nice size and even has a little pool attached for children, music is played by the pool, and changes from English/Moroccan/French/Latin throughout the day. There is a shop inside the hotel which sells snacks and toiletries at a cheap price, so if you don't want to carry shampoo and sun lotion with you on the way then you can buy it there, they have the same brands as here. If you do go with Thomas Cook, they give you airport transfers to and from the airport, which is about a 20 min drive. And they also have a list of day trips that they can book you on. We went on a buggie ride, basically a large go-kart for 2 people, it was brilliant, we went all around the hills, on top of the kasbah, and into another town, aswell as on along the beach. You have a guide in front so don't worry! We also went to a berber banquet, which are the Moroccan people who live in the mountains, it was amazing to see how they live and the way they make their food. You have a 4 course meal which is delicious, you participate in 2 dances with them, theres about 60 people there and you all participate so you won't get shy! its a long evening but well worth it. There were more things we wanted to do but we only went for a week so there wasn't enough time. Our room at the hotel was a nice size with quite a big balcony, we didnt really spend much time there though as there was so much to do and see. The hotel do provide entertainment in the evenings, but sometimes it can get repetitive. The hotel bar staff are really nice too, they will try and make you any drink you ask for. If you do go, you have to visit the souk, its a huge market that sells everything you need, gifts especially at a low price if you are good at haggling! We had to go twice as its so big and the first time we didnt feel confident enough to haggle properly! but we got there and got so many good deals. I went with my partner, we are both 21 and i loved it but there were quite a lot of families there who also loved it as theres a lot to do for everyone.
Great little hotel
from lynski73
Situated a little out of town is the main attraction, area is in the process of being built up, but the building around does not disturb your stay at all. The staff were all very friendly & helpful. The pool area is attractive & clean. The rooms are large, clean and comfortable with an enormous bed!! A taxi into town costs approx 2-3 euros, we walked home a few nights, it's not far and it's quite safe. It was low season when we were there and we thought it was great as not too many people around, therefore you were welcomed into any bar/restaurant and treated very well. Bartering in Morocco is not as easy as it is in SE Asia, though this could also be due to the low season and not too many tourists/sales around. Overall, we had a great holiday and would recommend the hotel to anyone.
Great hotel, great holiday!

Well what can i say about this hotel except brilliant. We stayed at the Res Intouriste mid june 06 and didn't really know what to expect as we booked it as a late deal and didn't really do much research on it. We found the hotel to be of exceptional cleanliness. The room was really really nice with an amaizing bathroom and cleaned every day. Even though there was not much choice in the way of food, what they did have was always very enjoyable. The staff were very friendly at all times but beware that if you choose to take the hotel bus service then you may end up at his friends jean shop rather than you desired destination. This happened to us which we were quite surprised about considering it was the hotels bus and not a taxi. There was alway evening entertainment put on, ranging from belly dancers to acrobatics by the pool. Aswell as the main entertainment ther was also what you could call a resident singer, who by the way we LOVED. Many a night did we spend drinking wine on the back couch whilst singing along to Bryan Adams. What you will find with agadir is that there is alot of building work going on but to be honest this didnt affect our holiday what so ever. They built like half a hotel in the duration we were there, and we didnt even notice. All in all we had an amaizing time and would higly recomend the Res Intouriste to anyone considering staying there. Hope this has helped anyone thinking of stayin at the hotel. p.s. we highly recomend going on the moroccan night excursion and the lazy days cruise :-D
Not Bad, Not Great.
from Rogoashear
The hotel was ok, it was very near the hyper marjane which served as a good place for food as there were no restaurants nearby. It is pretty out of the way of central agadir, there is a mini bus run by the hotel but it is incredibly unreliable. The Staff at the hotel could speak relatively good english but needed to improve their manners. The breakfast mostly consisted of bread, and although it came in about 30 different shapes and sizes, it got a little tedious after 2 weeks!! Watch out if you want to order the eggs as a few guests complained of a dodgy stomach after consuming them (they didnt look too appetising either). The room was very spacious and nicely decorated, the bathroom was also a very decent size. The kitchen was lacking equiptment and the portable hob didnt work too well, considering we were staying on bed and breakfast basis. The pool area was nice but they blared the music SO loud it was hardly a place where you could relax and unwind. All in all, I'd say it's a good place to stay for a few nights if you're passing through, but not for a 7 or 14 day trip!!
Very disappointed
from Picasso23
Very disappointed with this hotel. Terrible karaoke singing at night, pool very small. In the middle of building sites and not safe to walk around the area (we saw a woman being robbed at knife point nearby). I know its cheap but think it would be possible to do better for your money
A great hotel

We have just returned from a week here. It was a great week. We could not fault the hotel. All staff were friendly and helpful. The apartment we had was fantastic, very well equipped and the bed was huge. It was a 10 minute walk to beach, which was a nice walk. We had no hassle from any of the sellers once you said no they left you alone. Best Private beach was Tahitis. Their food was lovely. We were told the hotel should be 4 star but it was 3 star because of the nearby building work. We could see many new hotels being built but it did not spoil holiday as the noise was minimal. Would reccomend this hotel to anyone wanting a relaxing week away in sun. We would definatley return.
Wonderful week in the sun!

I can't help but write a review recommending others to visit this friendly hotel in Agadir. As this is the first review, I will try to be as detailed as possible---overall i rate our experience as 4 out of 5. First impressions of the Intouriste were very good. We arrived after midnight and the staff were professional and friendly, checking our group (package tour) in quickly and with smiles. Unlike the baggage handlers at the airport, the hotel staff accepts tips gratefully but they are not expected. Firstly, our holiday was booked through Sunway and the brochure warned of construction in the area surrounding the hotel. There was indeed construction all around, but at no stage during our stay were we affected by noise or any other actitivies, although it doesn't make for a nice view. The hotel rooms, common areas, restaurant and swimming pool were sparkling clean through the duration of our stay. The hotel is three years old, but our room was so neat and clean we could have easily been the first guests to have stayed in it. Speaking of the rooms, they are very spacious with tile flooring throughout. Our "studio" apartment was open plan with a well defined sitting area and kitchen. There were two large vanities with mirrors on the wall near the bed. We did not have a balcony, but there was a separate terrace/back porch with huge windows on three sides. The windows could be fully opened to create the feeling of a balcony. We had a few meals at the hotel and the menu is limited but sufficient with generous portion sizes and we always enjoyed our orders. We've had no tummy problems in either of our trips to Morocco, but don't drink the water! It's safe, but has much much more chlorine added than ours so you are sure to get cramps or more if you drink it. Be sure to stay well hydrated as it's hot here---2-3 litres a day will prevent problems. The cocktails on offer weren't the best I've ever had, but they were reasonably priced. The local Moroccan beer was fine, as was the red wine. Stay away from the white. We also went to the Moroccan theme night which was enjoyable and good value. You have three courses with a bottle of wine per couple, 3 different groups of Berber musicians and a Belly dancer. Be warned---audience participation is part of the show! The hotel adult entertainment was a bit bland---live music in the lounge each night with Lionel Richie and Chris de Burgh hits played repeatedly in the evening as well as by the pool, but there were a few interesting acts on different evenings during the week. Although we have no children, we spoke to other couples that did and the children's entertainment seemed good. The entertainment co-ordinater was friendly and very helpful--unfortunately I can't remember his name, but he even brought me some CDs after I commented that I enjoyed one of the Berber musical groups. The hotel staff in general work from early in the morning until very late at night but were always friendly and helpful. Although English is spoken throughout, it would be very helpful to brush up on a bit of French as there were a couple of misunderstandings and delays due to the language barriers. A couple of Arabic phrases like Shuk-ran (thank you) go a long way and most Moroccans understandably appreciate the effort and interest shown in their culture. The swimming pool was small but sufficient and was kept spotlessly clean. We never had problems securing a sunbed. The pool area and bar did have a bit of a problem with flies, but it wasn't an issue of cleanliness. The hotel also has a shuttle service for about 60 cents each way to any place you'd like to go in the Agadir city limits. Ali the driver is very informative and friendly and makes recommedations for restaurants and visits. If you need a taxi, he can take you into town to get one, or you can flag one down quickly enough on the main road alongside the hotel. The hotel offers spa services including a hammam, massage, jacuzzi, etc... I had a pedicure which was fine, but you get a feeling that the spa staff are newly trained and more 'going through the motions' than providing a luxury service. I do, however, recommend trying the hammam for a scrub-down like you've never had before! The hotel is suitable for couples and families although if you are looking for a real party holiday, you will need to look further afield in Agadir as the evening entertainment is quiet. It's a 5-10 minute shuttle or taxi journey into town so it's no problem to get to the action in Agadir. A word of advice---ask your holiday rep or at the hotel for an idea of taxi fares as none of the taxis have meters and the drivers either refuse to give you a price "you tell me what you want to pay" or sometimes try to rip off the "rich tourists." On a different note----I can't recommend spending at least one night in a different city. Agadir is fun, but you could be anywhere. For a taste of real Morocco, Essouira and Marrakech are only a 3-4 hour drive away and are amazing! Agadir is a great base for many interesting visits if you are looking for more than just a beach resort. All in all, we found the Intouriste to be clean, relaxing and friendly and I would definately stay there again.
We went with our three kids and this hotel just wasn't for us. The only positive thing i can say is that the room sizes are big thats about all, but i have a long list of problems we encoutered with the hotel. firstly there was no cot even though i had pre requested it. We... more
