Royal Maris Hotel

We stayed at the Royal Maris hotel in September 2005. I was a little worried about booking such a small hotel, but it has been one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in.

The staff were all very friendly, the rooms were very clean and comfortable and we had a lovely view of the beach.

The room did include a mini bar, but be warned don't get carried away, as we had a big bill at the end of the holiday, even thou you aren't allowed to take food or drink into the hotel room, we found it was very easy to do. And there's plenty of room in the fridge to put your own drinks in.

The pool for this hotel is on the roof, and it was lovely, very quiet, and hardly any children in sight, which we found was a good thing as we were a couple looking for good nightlife but more of a quiet hotel.

The hotel is in a perfect location you could not get any better, its right on the front and in middle of the main road in Marmaris.

If you decide to spend the day on the beach, the part in front of the hotel will charge you for sun loungers. But we found a very friendly and good priced bar called Cousins which was on the front of the beach, and as long as you buy your drinks from them they will allow you to sit on there sun loungers for free.

The food is excellent as well, and the staff are brilliant, they even arranged for a water ski trip for us, we even went back to this bar at night as it was one of the best in Marmaris for night life, and they play all the major football games.

To find cousins, as soon as you leave the hotel turn right, keep along the beach and its about a five minute walk from the hotel, its worth going.

Returned last month from 2 weeks in Marmaris. Staying at the Royal Maris which is in an absolutely fantastic location 10 minutes either way and you were among bars and restaurants. And yet far enough away to get a good nights sleep without the noise.

I’ve been to Marmaris several times and have seen this hotel and so gave it a go this year. The hotel was totally refurbished in 2003 and is very modern and clean. Arriving in the early hours, the staff on reception were still wide awake and happy to help. Our rooms were small but none the less had everything needed, hairdryer, mini bar, satellite TV, safe, free air con, etc etc.

Breakfast is served 7am until 10am, being young and out until the early hours I think we only made it a couple of times and it was typically Turkish cuisine. The hotel is situated on the beach front with free access to sun loungers. Also there is a roof top swimming pool/bar which is surrounded by decking, again very modern and the views are fantastic.

The only downside I have about the Royal Maris is that there wasn’t very many English guests. I think we met four. The majority being Russian /Swedish and German. The hotel is aimed at adults/couples so I never saw any children, which was nice. So all in all clean, well equipped, modern hotel. And I will definitely be recommending to friends and family.
