stayed in this hotel 6th oct for two weeks we were a party of six 50 year olds.
after reading reviews we booked this hotel.on day 3 husband was rushed to medical center with food poisoning along with many more of the guests, word of warning the doctor at hotel is working with medical center if you decide to book here next year and fall pray to illness pay 7 lira and go to local hospital you will not be ripped off with medical treatment you do not need as all they are concerned about is your insurance company details. After a night on drip hubby came back to hotel, after 3 days he was poorly again, at this point we had only eaten at the hotel.the thomas cook rep said it was a air born virus and the thomsons rep said it was a virus so why was my husband fed antibiotics throu a drip.they covered up for food poisoning.
its a shame as the hotel is very clean and our rooms were spotless the staff very helpful. We got told that next year this hotel along with the rest that are all inclusive have to become a 5 ***** hotel by turkish law.The food standards in this hotel needs a complete revamp to reach 4**** never mind the 5***** status needed.
Do not waste your money here gumbet is a lovely place and very friendly go self catering.WE have been going abroad for 30 years to many resorts and hotels this was not worth the money we spent.

When we arrived at the hotel we are told that we have no room for us there and we stay in first night in hotel old building were was very beautiful and silence with a lot of flower, but the room was old furnitured and not so clean.

In the next day we moved in the new building in a room that was barely 2 star. Look at the pictures I took. The room was cleaned daily, we had a sea view which was very nice. And was very noisy here we heard all the animation team up to 24.

The position of the hotel is great, nice rooftop restaurant, excellent food and beverage.

The beach instead is very small and the level of water is only to the shoulder

The animation team try to do something for everyone from children discos to adult sketch shows in the evening, of course it is not possible to please all of the people all of the time but we found them very entertaining.

Conclusion we had a lovely time and we took many excursion

Generally had a pretty good week in the Royal Asarlik Hotel (prior to Easy Cruise trip round several Greek Islands) Hotel looks very clean and staff work hard to keep guests happy. Ertan in the pool bar and the lovely girl in the Love corner are especially sweet.

As you may have already heard, a large number of guests went down with a nasty stomach bug during our week there. We're talking ambulances and Intravenous drips - not the odd immodium tablet... Heaven knows what the cause was, and it would be unfair to criticise the hotel staff if guests' hygiene was to blame ( always a risk with buffets).

But, there are a few things that need to be improved. Glass cleaning for one. Monitoring the use of utensils in the buffet area is another. People won't just accept a stomach bug as an expected down side of a holiday any more. The vast majority of these problems can be avoided by hotels and guests working together.

Other than that, the hotel is pretty good. Nice views from the pool. Fantastic views from the restaurant. Food ok, but when you've been wiped out with a bug it's not exactly the highlight of your day. Me with a "strong constitution" too. For me the first week was pretty good - especially in terms of value for money. But the second week on Easy Cruise was absolutely FAB. (review elsewhere) The whole package - Asarlik All.Inc and Easy Cruise HB from Glasgow cost £749. I've paid more for one week half board in an average hotel in Spain!

Just returned from our third visit to this hotel.(Once a year since it opened).Even though

before we have found a few minor faults these mostly seem to have been rectified, food

being the only issue still left (more later).

Overall the hotel has improved a great deal this year with the staff being a lot more courteous than previously.Don't know wether this is because we went at a quieter time of year (normally go July/August)or because there is a lot of new more mature staff now working there either way a fantastic improvement.Service at all bars was first rate with no hanging around and very charming friendly staff could easily sit there and be entertained all night. Waiters very efficient and more than helpful when wanting cold water,etc....Entertainment during the day but very low key compared to previous years when they used to physically force you to join in but maybe because near the end of the season so not so many people in hotel willing to join in. Entertainment in the evenings is just about watchable but you have to take it as it is meant they do try hard!

Location is great took 2 teenagers with us daughter and boyfriend they loved bar street mainly the reason we've been there 3 times.

Food has not improved much breakfast is still the best meal of the day but don't expect full english. Lunch & Dinner very repetative (hope you like chicken, turkey & salad)gets

very boring after 2 weeks luckily there is a nice selection of restaurants near by for a treat.A la carte was a big let down this year! Last 2 years been virtually on the beach with full service and beautiful bottle of wine(in fact we had 3 bottles last year)no rushing and a really beautiful meal cooked to perfection, no interference from other hotel guests just others who had booked alacarte. BUT this year! Inside where they have the disco, very rushed(in and out within 45 minutes)no privacy and food was awful my steak was just gristle no meat at all and my mushroom sauce was scrapings from the bottle of the pan.

The food was and still is the biggest fault with this hotel other than that it is truly great.

Would we go back? Last holiday with the children so probably not (only chose because of what there is for them to do) the world is a big place but if ever we decided to go back to Gumbet definately would choose the Royal Asarlik

Lovely hotel, good food but all beverage was watered and had the same taste. The garden is very nice and the pool too and clean

The room was nice and clean but noisy. We heard all the buses coming and going.

The animation team is very nice and try to do something good with children.

The disco is too small and is only inside.

The hotel is too isolated but generally was nice.

WOW is all I can say - what an amazing hotel, so clean and the staff so helpful.

Day and evening entertainment was hilarious and the food had such a large choice.

The location is perfect, you can have the beach restaurants and bars or you can have bar street with all the pubs and clubs.

Can't wait to go again

after reading the reviews i was a bit worried about the hotel but from arrival to departure i found everything about the hotel excellent . our party consisted of my self and my husband and our two early 20s daughters. we had reserved two rooms . on arrival in the early hours we were allocated 2 rooms on the second floor at oppposite ends of the hotel both rooms had no windows ect. i rang reception and told them it was not acceptable they replied that it was only until the morning as the rooms we should have been allocated were not ready due to late departures. sure enough the next morning we were moved to two larges airey rooms on the fifth floor next door to each other. these were beautifully decorated and spacious. i found the staff at the hotel polite and helpful and willing to help with anything the food was plentiful and varied there was plenty of choice with something different each day. i would return to this hotel and i would recomend to my friends we were very sad to leave it. there was food and drinks available 24 hours from the various bars and restuarants. there were always sunbeds and parasols available on the beach although the pool did get crowded and we were unable to use it during our stay as we were not prepared to get up at 6 am to reserve with towels.

Just came back from this amazing hotel after a 2 week holiday. All staff were brilliant and were very helpful. Doctor on site and 24hr security around the hotel were fantastic. The pool is to small for the size of the hotel but is always spotless. The only downfall was the food, same things everyday just different variations and even though they were always taking food temps by the time you got to eat it it was luke warm. In our brochure it stated free ice cream on all inclusive, the only ice cream we saw is what we bought, when brought to the attention of guest relations we were told they had a no ice cream policy and to take it up with our tour operator. I spoke to other famillies who said they were under the same impression as we were.

A very nice hotel, spotlessly clean, with excellent staff, very friendly and extremely helpful. However, the selection of food available was at best adequate, with slight variations on the same theme.

The pool, although good, is far too small for the number of guests.

Finally, the mini-bar in the room, I just don't see the point of having one!! After all who is going to pay for a bottle of water from the mini-bar when you are all inclusive.

First time in Turkey for my wife and I. A bit apprehensive but found the hotel and resort wonderful. The room was a good size with excellent facilities. I cannot understand how other people have complained about the food and drink. Excellent selection at all times. If you want an English breakfast or fry up - stay in England and be treated as you deserve. We could not believe the number of staff at the hotel. Everywhere they were their to help. This has certainly given us a taste for Turkey and have every intention of returning to the Royal Asarlik

Just back from two weeks at this "amazing" hotel. Spent the fortnight looking at a wall from out balcony. Were banished to a Nostalgia room that looked like it was last decorated in 1973. When i booked, i was shown the brochure picture of a really nice room, but we ended up in a room that was barely 2 star.

It appears that because we were not in a better room, the cleaning staff felt that they didn't have to clean our room as well. The soles of our feet were permanently black. Because we had our 4 year old son with us, we just got on with it and tried our best with the room. However, seeing what others had been given for LESS than we had paid was a very bitter pill to swollow.

The food was mostly good, the buffet was very European but there was always soup, bread and fresh fruit available. The mini bar did prove very costly and we were told that we were not allowed to keep anything in the fridges that wasn't put there by the hotel.

The pool is amazing and reall safe. I'd recommend the free scuba lessons in the pool cause they are really cool.

My son and a friends 18 month old found a surgical needle in the amphitheatre. Even though it was still wrapped, the baby had it in her mouth. Totally unacceptable!! When i brought it to the attention of the reception staff i was thanked for handing it in!!!!!!!

Be aware that when asking for a childs cocktail, it contains no alchohol. A friends little boy was given alchohol twice and ended up very ill.

The night time entertainment was wild and if you like that sort of thing, then its fun to watch. The mini disco was in a foreign language unfortunately, all the kids that attended were British when we were there.

The staff, in general, are excellent. However, when trying to get served at the bar, you have to be seen to puting money in the tip box, or you will have a very long wait.

This was out first all inclusivwe holiday and we feel very let down, but i think that if we had gotten the room that we had booked, then the experience would have been a lot more positive. The only other thing that was weird, was that people seemed to have forgotten their manners in this hotel. Some of the guests did not say please or thank you to the staff, and that really got on my nerves.

This is our 3rd holiday in Gumbet, and we are going next year because we love the area. We have made a lot of friends and look forward to seeing them again.

What a fantastic hotel. Me and 3 friends have just returned from a weeks stay and we have no compliants at all except one small one which I will come to later. The hotel was marvelous - we had rooms 611 - 614 and what a view of the sea and beach youcouldnt ask for any more. The staff in the majority were great and couldntbe more helpful, the food was good always a good selection even though it was always a chicken, beef and fish selection. What an array of deserts and salads. The rooms were cleaned everyday, no complaints in that area. You do have to get early to get a bed near the all inclusive pool but if there are none then you can use the pool at the bottom of the resort or even the beach. I have never come across such comfotrable sun loungers, added pillows, trays and youcan even move the main frame etc. The only disappointment was that we had to ask several people what and where we could use the all inclusive but we soon got the hang of it. We enjoyed ourselves that much that we are looking to book for the same week next year.

Our only complaint was with a coluple of the waiters - a bit too full on and may I say slightly starkerish but all I can say if just ignore them and they soon (hopefully) get the message.

Would recommend this accommadtion to anyone
