Loved Everything!!!
THe people are friendly, everybody is at your service, the food is fantastic, the rooms are cleaner than my flat, the animation team is WONDERFUL!!! In short, we love them, we went there 3 years in a row, and we're going there this year too. IT'S THE BEST PLACE !!!!!
Lovely
This was our first visit to Turkey and we were not sure what to expect. We were pleasantly surprised therefore to find ourselves in such lovely surroundings. Room was perfect for us, it overlooked the pool and bar area with a beautiful sea view. Room was spotlessly clean, cared for by a lovely young man who's name I cannot spell but it sounded like Mouchat, he was delightful and couldn't do enough for us. Thankyou Mouchat! Staff couldn't have been more helpful, we are unused to being waited on, but it could grow on you! We were so happy with everything, that we found that we needn't leave the hotel at all other than to go on sightseeing trips, which we did and greatly enjoyed. we had such a nice time that our daughter and grandaughter have booked to visit you in June this year. Please look after them for us. If there was anything I had to moan about it had to be the meals. They were lovely in the main but much as I love chicken we really don't want it fer every meal.
loved it!!
i went to the asarlik with my sister in august 05, and i absolutely loved it. the staff were fantastic, always happy to help, (especially Bolent!.. according to my sister)and made the holiday a real laugh. the food was quite bad, with limited variety, but the weather was so hot, you didn't feel like eating anyway! the beach was lovely and clean, and there was no problem getting a sunbed, if you went down to the pool early. the pool was wonderful, complete with a great jacuzzi. there were plenty of activities during the day, such as the "jiggy, jiggy" dance and darts. the bar staff were really friendly (especially Eddy -mmmmm-, and Bolent)and were very good at giving you a taste of a real turkish man. the drinks were reasonable price, especially if you were goooood friends with the barmen. overall, my holiday was great!!
Could have done better - if they wanted too!!
We stayed at ASarlik Beach at the end of season which was definatley the wrong time to visit this hotel. I dont know what they are going to do next year when they are all inclusive and the new extension is open. Anyway we stayed an a half board basis and spent most of oour time travelling to visit sites and the beautiful country. The hotel is not for anyone with mobility problems as there are multiple steps everywhere. The rooms were clean and basic but we were unfortunately in room 513 that is directly over the loud entertainment that lasted most of the night. When that stopped we had the cooks TV on full volume for the rest of the night. The facilities were being run down when we were there and by week two the bare minimum was available. The resturant food was well laid out to appear plentiful but as another reviwere reports chicken with every meal. We lived on Chicken, bread eggs and CHIPS(we english do not eat these things and certainly not with every meal) There was no butter even by the middle of the second week. The resturant staff especially Salemi and Mustafa were most friendly, entertaining and helpful. However i question how genuine this was - was it for financial gain? We were made most welcome by the stff packing up the hotel around us the second week and this activelty got more effervescent as the week concluded. On our last day the beach had been removed the resturant closed by 07.00 bar closed and all pool facilities by 4 pm. We had a freezing meal outside as staff's parting gift to the nice holiday makers!Whilst we were sat in the reception on our last evening at 11.30 at night staff were removing the office furniture and computers etc.
Asarlik Beach
My sister and i have stayed at Asarlik for the 3rd time since sept 2004 In may it was lovley apart from the loud music all day when you wanted to rest The staff were wonderfull even down to the cleners the rooms were very clean the food in May2005 was very nice and plenty of choice not so in Oct every main meal was chicken even for breakfast and German meats and salads no really choice even at breakfast it was chicken when we complained we were told its what the english wanted to eat oh and by the way there were always chips even at breakfast The bar staff were not nice people on every viist we made if you were in the 18-25group you were fine anything over that well what can i say the bar drinks were very expensive and yet again this very loud music all day everyday so many people complained but nothing was done very dissapointing My sister are only in 50 and like a joke and a good time like everyone else and like to see people enjoying therselfs but that music was unberable it was a case if your face dident fit as far as the bar staff were concerned They are upgrading to a 5starin 2006 and the new part of the hotel is only going to be for the Germans/dutch/french ect and the old for the english of which i think will cause problems all in all it was a good holiday as for going again well i think it will be a long time before we go to the Asarlik again and i think it will be very expensive.
Mixed feelings....
Thought a lot about what I would like to say about this hotel... Visited from 15th to 29th August - obviously high season which needs to be taken into account. The hotel and grounds were exceptionally clean and well cared for and I expect if you had a sea view from your hotel balcony this would have been superb. Unfortunately myself, husband and 2 teenage kids were put in a room which resembled a railway tunnel - very spacious but no views and quite dark. It was the usual scramble early morning for sunbeds not because there were too few but because there was very limited shade available and no-one wanted to sit out in 100 degree temperatures all day! The bar staff and waiters were very efficient and extremely helpful despite the long hours they were required to work. The credit card system worked very well -but we settled our bill each morning - I imagine if you left it to the end of the holiday you would get quite a shock as the prices for drinks and meals were certainly not cheap. We stayed on a bed and breakfast basis and the food available at breakfast time was good and varied - the only criticism I would make was that the fresh fried eggs, omelettes etc had long queues and it became rather a chore to even bother waiting especially as more often than not there was only 1 chef working. The entertainment was not particularly to our liking - amateurish and rather long winded in the evening but it seemed to go down well with other nationalities - there were the usual guest participation shows. We tended to eat out in the evening in Gumbet and then afterwards sit around the bar in the Hotel chatting with the bar staff Eddie, Dolphin, Jay and the others who were a great bunch. We learned whilst we were there that a large extension had been built on to the hotel which would open as all inclusive next summer (I assume that this info is correct) I hope that another pool will be built aswell as the current pools could barely cope with the number of guests this summer. All in all we had a good holiday and I would thoroughly recommend this hotel to couples or families with small children but not sure how the new extension will affect the overall atmosphere of the place next year. We found that the hotel was really too big and busy for us and we will be returning to Calis Beach and the smaller hotels we are used to for our 8th visit to Turkey in 2006.
Tired legs!
The Asarlik Beach Hotel is cleaner than my own flat! It's spotless, from the pool to the restaurant to the toilets, they never seem to stop cleaning! Only downside was all the steps and slopes, my legs are killing me! We originally went there as two single girls looking for a bit of good nightlife and somewhere to relax during the day...not quite what we got, but we still had an excellent time. I wouldn't recommend it to other singletons as you're surrounded by couples and families, but i would go back maybe in high season as Bar Street was slightly dead when we went. The staff are fantastic, the 'Animation Team' are completely bonkers, watch out for Max, he is possibly the craziest man i have ever met! If you're not into daytime activities and the same pop music being played all day every day then this isn't the place for you. But if you're looking for somewhere with a mixture of fun and relaxation and some of the friendliest people you will ever meet, then Asarlik is great. Overall, one of the best holidays i've ever had, top marks.
second time not as good
It was the second time we stayed at the Asarlik. the first thing we thought er would do was book the hotel boat trip. last year one was great. but hassain, who was the head waiter last year wasnt there, so we ask who takes the bookings this year, it was this tall bloke who we rememberd from last year who was rude and lazy. anyway this was tuesday and he said we could go on the boat friday, friday morning came we took our towls ect to breakfast and he said he come and get us at ten, he lied there was no boat trip. he then hid from us the reat of the holiday. we saw him from a distance kissing up to a holiday rep all the time. he never ask anybody we ask if they wanted a boat trip. then one evening a guest got a bit drunk and the police as called because he through a chair in the pool anyway this woke us up and we watched from our room. the manager came and inspected the damage, then ten minutes later when the police ect had gone the bar staff started turning up tables and throwing more chairs in the pool till we shouted down, and couht them red handed. all they kept making mastakes with our card and charging for things twice. ewe also notice that prices in the town for food and drink had gone up a lot scence last year, and cocktails have been half in size. so all in all this and that slimmy head waiter mared our holiday we wont go back again
loved the asarlik
we stayed at the asarlik hotel week beginning 11 september. it was really nice the staff could not do enough for you.we come back to our room one day and the cleaner had made the sheet in the shape of a flower with a flower in the middle and petels all round it was a really lovely touch. we really enjoyed ourselves my daughter and her boyfriend came with us and they enjoyed the entertainments team on a day and the night they are brilliant. we also enjoyed bar street also which i thought my hubby would not like but he was the one enticing us down there after the entertainment had finished not that it took much persuading. we went on a boat trip jeep safari and market with indiana agent. well worth the money hoping to go back next year same time
Fantastic hotel
I have just returned after spending 2 weeks in this hotel and I can whole-hartedly reccomend it. The staff are fantastic and always on hand to help with any queries or problems that may arise and they do keep the place very clean. I thought the food was excellent too, with a large variety. The entertainment during the day was fantastic, Crazy Sam, Mehmet were brilliant and they kept you amused into the evening too, with lots of shows and events. We are a family of 5 with varying age ranges and were worried that our late-teenage children wouldn't enjoy it as much, however, we were relieved to find that the bars and clubs on Bar street kept them amused. So thank you very very much everyone at Asarlik Beach for a truly superb holiday!
