Ideal Pearl Hotel - Very Clean!
We stayed at the Ideal Pearl and have just returned and we had a great time! The hotel is very clean and the pool area is lovely. The hotel is just off the main road which is nice as is very close to the beach. There is some noise from the poolside bar at night time, however, if you are on the other side of the hotel you can't hear it. The waiters around the pool area are really freindly (especially Sam, he's great!) There isn't any entertainment at the hotel but there are plenty of bars and restaurants close by. I would definitely recommend the food at the hotel, very nice and reasonably priced. We ate in the Cafe Pearl and the food was excellent! Overall the hotel was very good and I would definitely go back.
Clean, quiet and accomodating !
Arrived at the hotel which is set back from a busy road, the entrance lobby is very spacious, modern with marble floors and leather and suede sofas the staff very attentive and courteous. We were shown to our rooms which, looked a little "old and in need of some love " ! although clean and tidy the first rooms faced out onto a brick wall, after a little word with the manager we were given the choice of another three rooms. The balconies are very small in the majority of the rooms and a triangle shape but big enough for 2 chairs (just) . I cannot fault in any way the cleanliness of the hotel , the rooms were cleaned to a high standard each and every day, with fresh sheets every other day. The pool area is immaculate and the best part was that you could get a sun lounger and a brolly until lunchtime most days!- no morning procession to stake your claim on a lounger. Although the hotel was full the pool area was never overcrowded. There is no organised entertainment by the pool, only nice music which was good The waiters are very attentive and friendly without bothering you , the drinks and snacks at the pool bar were very competative, about £2 for a large pizza or a large mixed salad and 2 pieces of Garlic Bread.- but they do not allow you to bring in from outside ! We were on a B&B basis and I have got to say it got a bit boring, boiled eggs one day then scrambled the next and so on ,but if you like to sample jams, spreads, and syrups there was always a large selection to put on your bread. Never ate in the hotel at night preferring to eat at the harbour however food looked very nice and was reasonably priced. Despite many claims on previous reviews we were never bothered with noise at all. lAll in all i would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to people wanting a good ,clean reasonabley priced hotel for relaxing in the daytime and to use as a base for going further afield at night .
Not sooo bad!!!
Great hotel in good location. A few minutes walk from the beach, 10 min drive to Ichmiler, 30 min walk to harbours & shopping mall. Brilliant weather & good food outside. Loads of trips at great prices. Very friendly staff & people. (They love lil kiddies) Overall we had a fantastic time.
Not the 'Grand' .... the Ideal 'Pearl'
For all those who have stayed in Turkey, you will know that, as it seems to me, all star ratings seem to get a free star, you know, 3 star is really 2 star; 4 star is really 3 etc. That said, while the Ideal Pearl is marked as 4 star ( but really 3 !!! ), I must admit, it would be classed as a fairly good 3 star anywhere else...The lobby area is good and the whole set up upon arrival, well managed and comprehensive. The hotel gives the immediate impression of care and cleanliness....which we like...oh yes we do!! The desk staff were courteous, helpful and well turned out... (much better than jeans and a football shirt !!) We were shown to our room, which while basic, was spotless...(yep! done the sheet inspection thing... you know what I mean !!) We were in the section of the hotel which overlooks the poolbar/pool area, and I couldn't once say I have any complaints about noise from that area...(Next room was a different story; the walls seem quite thin and the lady next door seemed intent on breaking them...using her voice in a similar manner to Jericho's horn.) The shower room/toilet was also clean. Very impressed with the housekeeping; room cleaned, towels replaced, beds made or changed everyday. Found the hotel a little lacking in atmosphere, but then again, it was the start of the season, so i'm sure this isn't always the case. It's B & B which is good if you like Turkish breakfast (which I do) 'cos thats all there is.... really !!! Breakfast is from 7:00 to 9:30...I mean on holiday; suffice to say, I didn't materialize every morning. Didn't much like those little watch things you get issued with on arrival and must use to pay for everything in the hotel ... i'm sure you've seen then before; but i suppose it was little more than a nuisance. The beach and an abundance of bars and restaurants are literally 2 minutes WALK away. (Try the steak at Natalies on the beachfront...WOW.) All in all, I would recommend and would stay again myself. ps. Marmaris is essentially a 2-3km road and beach with a marina at one end... and this hotel at the other.!!!! but hey! there's always the dolmus; oh ... and its like the budgie.. CHEEP !
Very Good Hotel (Recomended)
great hotel. ideal position, roads very busy loved the set up. very warm there though, last year i went end of aug, it was 45 degreese some days. midnight its around 30 c (86)
Never Again!
Loud! Loud!Loud!Loud! We stayed for one week ona B&B basis in August and had a room overlooking the bar area. We woke up to noiise, went out for the day and came back to noise, and went to bed to noise. Loud, thumping, mind numbing music at all hours of the day and night, and nowhere to go to escape it. When the music wasn't playing the outside TV was! There were volume controls on the TVs in the rooms but none on the one outside our window. Marmaris is great so plenty of places to go but there were times it woud have been nice to relax in our room. No chance. On the plus side, the hotel is very clean and modern, and the staff was very efficient and helpful. The facilities were good (would have liked a coffee machine) and, on the only time we had breakfast, it was excellent. The hotel itself is ok but be warned - don't go if you expect to get any sleep.
What a surprise!
Myself and a friend recently went on holiday to Turkey and stayed at the Hotel Ideal in Marmaris. It was a total surprise when we got there, as the hotel looked totally different than the picture in the brochure ... It was much, much nicer as it has recently been refurbisdhed! Everywhere was immaculate and the staff were very helpful. Great location and I'd reccommend that if you are eating off the premises, to go to Picasso's on the corner ... Excellent value for money and lovely staff! You will eat there every day once you have been there once, we did! The food was too good to risk having a meal somewhere else! x
Not a Very Good Hotel But Great Country And Town
It was a great place, bit busy but manageable, the bus service is excellent why they don't do it in England i don't know, what you do is you just hop on this bus and when you want to get off you just signal to the driver and he puts on the brakes and he just stops simple as that. Personally, i didn't like the hotel because you wern't aloud to bring drinks or food bought outside the hotel into your hotel room because of the manager's wishes.Plus there was a lot of people that liked pushing Waiters that were circling the pool collecting up drinks, into the pool which meant mostly all the waiters dropping the glasses in their hands and therefore breaking them.
should be 4****
My husband and I just returned from 1 week @ hotel Ideal marmaris. cannot fault it in any way. rooms cleaned daily. sheets changed three times during the week. staff very friendly. pool areas spotless. we ate at the hotel most days and found the food terrific value & quality, we had some of the best meals of the holiday at the hotel.15mins from beach. close to bus stops for regular service into marmaris habour.best holiday so far.
Not quite ideal
Just back from the recently revamped Hotel Ideal, not to be confused with the Grand Ideal, which is just round the corner. This hotel offers reasonable accommodation with the vital air conditioning in the room and is handily situated two minutes walk from the beach promenade and off the main road between Marmaris and Icmeler. Stayed on a b and b basis but don't bank on a good breakfast to start the day. Pretty ropey and the most disappointing feature of our stay. Entertainment was limited to pool and bar area, but everything is kept clean and tidy and prices are average. Loads of bars and cafes around with the best on the seafront with spectacular views across the bay. Lots of boat trips on offer from Marmaris, but one tip, if you are booking the mud bath and turtles trip, just remember its right back to nearly Dalaman airport, a two hour drive both ways. And take the Turkish bath day one, it gets rid of the dead skin, before you tan. The Ideal is a reasonable three star hotel, a good base to see the area, but not ideal for youngsters.
