Sestra Apartments

well what can i say. just returned from a week at the sestra,,fantastic,,rooms basic but clean,,pool and all areas spotless...derya,,abdulla and all the staff made our stay a pleasure nothing is to much trouble for them,,its up a bit of a hill but take your time walking up and its not to bad,,,we was given room 7 which has veiws to die for,,,,cant wait to return there again rooms in need of toaster though

This was my boyfriend's and my first holiday to Turkey. Bitez had been recommended to us by his father who has returned to Bitez several times. The Sestra more than lived up to our expectations (so much so that my boyfriend's parents now insist on staying there too). All the staff at the Sestra were extremely friendly and helpful and nothing was ever too much trouble for them. The accommodation was clean and spacious. Our balcony looked over the bay and we spent many evenings watching the sun setting. Bitez is a beautiful, laid back resort and we recommend it to anyone looking for a chilled, relaxing holiday.

We have been to Bitez 7 times so have stayed in other apartments in the resort, but can honestly say so far the Sestra has been the best so far.
The Sestra is family owned and run and you are made to feel that you are part of the family. Everyone one on Derya's (owner) staff are very friendly and helpful and go out of their way to make sure you have a good holiday.
The rooms are cleaned to a high standard and the towels are changed daily. The pool although small is cleaned every day, and overlooks Bitez bay, the views are stunning.
We only ate in the restaurant 3 times, but the food was well prepared and the service second to none. We had some Turkish friends who had come down from Istanbul and we invited them to come and visit us for a drink, they were very impressed with the size of the rooms and the apartments as a whole.
If there were a downside it's a bit of a hill on the way back from the beech, but after a few day's you don't seem to notice it, probsbly too much Raki!!!
My wife and I have booked another two weeks for June/July this year 2008 also my son stayed there 2006 with his girlfriend and they are booking for 2 weeks in September 2008
I love Bitez hence the 7 holidays, it's a small resort with good restaurants, and the waiters are all very friendly. If you want to visit Gumbet or Bodrum there is a good public bus service and you don't have to wait too long for the next one.

Had a fantastic holiday at Sestra, beautiful views from the pool area over Bitez Bay. Hotel staff were great and made us so welcome, Derya and her team are fantastic hosts, nothing is too much trouble.
The pool is spotless and the area around it quiet and relaxing. Sheets and towels were changed regularly and we were able to buy fresh bread and water from the restaurant so we didn't have to carry them up the hill.
Close proximity to the beach and restaurants where the food and service were great. Third time in Turkey and wasn't disappointed and would recommend Sestra and return there.

The apartments were clean and tidy. Food in the restaurant very good, well worth a try. A great deal of steps, which after a day on the beach became hard work. The staff very helpful and friendly. You were able to purchase large water, milk and bread from the bar which considering we were half way up a steep hill (which the brochure failed to inform you) was very handy!
Disappointed by the resort as a whole, found it very dirty. The Central Beach Bar and its staff were the best bit of Bitez. The food there was excellent especially the fish.

Stayed at the Sestra for a week in September. We arrived early morning (5am), I think we got the manager (Derya) out of bed and we were shown to our room. We were given another couples room but the owner said it didn't matter as it was the better room. Woke up next morning to the best views in Bitez, right on the hill side overlooking the whole of Bitez.
The pool area was just big enough for the number of apartments (13 I think) and as it was mid September it was very quiet. They have loungers, bean bags and large beds to lay on, however due to the lack of visitors the pool bar was not open but they would bring you drinks from the main bar/reception if you asked. The apartments were all fairly big all looking out onto the spectacular view. The only down side being on top of the hill was the wind (although great when sunbathing) and the walk into the town, not too far but not suitable for some older visitors.
The facilities could have done with checking occasionally as our kettle wouldn't stay on without the help of a wooden spoon! Also the decor was a little tired, but what can you expect of a 2 star. Our safe was broken but within minutes of reporting it everyone in the apartment was trying to fix it?
The only issues we had was the lack of towels (had to ask for clean ones) and the room not getting a proper clean, the cleaner had her very young son in tow constantly and was forever going to collect him from where he wandered off to!
If you like a good nights sleep forget it, the dogs nearby keep you up all night and if they don't the guy who rents the apartment under number 11 has the washing machine on from 1am-4am!!
Can't moan about the staff they will do anything to keep you happy. Looking for the best places to visit ask Derya and she will be happy to point you in the right direction, I can see why people come back again and again they are so friendly.
Bitez itself is very quiet just enough restaurants, although the food at the Sestra is supposed to be better (we just never tried it unfortunately).

We have just experienced one of our best holidays yet. This was our first time in Turkey and could not have been made to feel more welcome. Derya and all her staff are brilliant and treat you like family. The apartments are spacious with amazing views and large balconies or patios. The pool area is lovely and spotlessly clean. We found the food in the restaurant is the best in the area, and the Turkish breakfast a real treat. Hope to return one day soon.

These apartments are certainly the jewel in the crown of Bitez. Never have received a welcome like we got here.
This family run complex prides itself of looking after its guests as one of the family.
Views from the immaculate pool area are breathtaking and the pool itself is spotlessly clean, large and sports a bar area also.
Food in the restaurant is of a very high standard and prices are very competitive. All in all an excellent place to stay in beautiful Bitez.
The apartments are very clean and are quite large. We had two ground floor apartments overlooking the pool with views to die for!!!
Would most definitely recommend this complex if you want a really relaxing holiday with a fantastic family looking after you.

This was the best holiday we have had! Thanks Derya and not forgetting Tayfun, you made us feel so welcome. Nothing was too much trouble.
Every-one at the Sestra did all they could to make our stay enjoyable.
The rooms are spacious and well equipped and the views are amazing from all areas of the apartments.
There is a lovely pool and terrace, and the food was good too - so if you didn't feel like moving you didn't have to!
What can I say - it was just brilliant, the ultimate in chilling out!
Will definitely be going again as soon as we can.

We have just returned from a 2 week holiday at the Sestra, and enjoyed it so much that we have booked again for September of this year, (albeit independently this time).

The accommodation is one bedroom apartments with enormous balconies with fantastic views of Bitez bay.
Apart from the views and the well appointed apartments, what makes this a special holiday is the staff, from Fatma and Emir (Sylvia sends her love) who makes sure your rooms are kept clean, to Tayfun who looks after all your needs in both the bars, to Adem and his lovely wife who makes sure that you may try other restaurants but will always return for more of his special cooking.
Not forgetting Evit & Umit, our friends from our nightshifts on the balcony.
Now what can I say about Derya (owner) who has become like a second daughter to us, in fact no need to say anymore as she knows how we feel about her.
If you are looking for a quite peaceful base with nightlife only 5 minutes away in Gumbet, this is the only choice you should make.
