Club Likya is a very friendly place to stay. Senol is a gentleman and his Staff are polite, attentive, fun, and courteous. Rooms very basic and cleaned every day. Food was terrific and the BBQ night was well planned and full of fun. Location is about 10-15 mins stroll down to main beach strip and 2-3 mins in a taxi back in the early hours and costs about 7 lira.
Would recommend the personal minibus shuttle service from Dalaman that Senol can organise for you. It cost us £100 between 3 of us but was well worth it the driver was waiting outside with our name card and we were out the airport and at the apartments within an hour and a half. Have heard its normally a 2 hour trip with other coaches and drop offs.
Pool area is immaculate and the bar staff are forever clearing litter, ash trays etc and always checking you were comfortable. :-)
The reception desk was attended 24-7 and you never had to wait for anything.
Security was top class and they do not let non guests visit in the wee small hours as one of my friends unfortunately found out. :-) Although with a sober head next day was quite glad as it proved your safety and other guests comfort was top of their list.
There were 3 of us but we felt we had to rent a 2nd room so we could all get a cool nights sleep as the air conditioning is only in the bedroom. Even if you leave it on during night and keep the door open the living room with sofa bed is still unbearably hot. Our view was not great (back of hotel) overlooking a childs play area that housed a building covered in grafitti and 14yr old Turkish boy who took great delight in stalking our balcony from morning til night. Even when we tried to block him out with our towels he still moved so he could get a better view. This made us uncomfortable and a bit pee'd off come the end of the week. This is not Club Likya's fault as outwith their control. However, the boy did try to entertain us with some Michael Jackson moves and crotch grabbing but the fun of that wore off quickly.
They are going back to Thomson in 2010 with 17 of their rooms so will only have the other 17 available if you want to book direct.
All in all, great week and probably would visit again.

Complex was immaculate and cannot be faulted for cleanliness. Staff were very very helpful, attentive, polite, fun and courteous. Location good, if you like a nice stroll 10-15 mins to the main beach strip. Food was lovely and the BBQ night was great with all staff joining in! We would say rooms are only good for two people tho as no air conditioning in the living room with the sofa bed. There were 3 of us and we ended up taking another room so the 3rd person could get a cool nights sleep. View from our room at back of apartments was not great, looked onto a childs play area and building with graffitti on it, but the owners at Club Likya cannot control this so not their fault. Nor the fact that we had a 14 yr old Turkish boy stalking us each day!! From morning to night for 7 nights he sat in the childs play area staring at our balcony and even moving to get a better view when we covered the rails with our towels, which made us uncomfortable. Next time we visit we will ask for a room overlooking the front at the pool. Weather was terrific and the breeze each day helped us cool down. All the bar staff and maintenance guys were terrific and couldn't be nicer. Senol is a gentleman. Will defo come back, they are pairing up with Thomson again in 2010 so will only have 17 of their rooms available for direct bookings.

This has to be one of the best holiday resorts in Turkey, All the staff are very Friendly and help full especially the manager Senol. The rooms are immaculate and very spacious. There is heaps of things to do and your only a 10 minute walk to the beach front. The best nights are the BBQ nights where after you've eaten they play dancing games. All in all a top holiday.

I returned to the apartments after a wonderful stay last September to find nothing had changed the apartments were exactly as I had left them in pristeen condition.
Point to note: keep away from the Cousins bar across the road from Portabello Hotel they are rip off merchants. buy one get one free is not what is seems when you raise the price to cover the free drink. you have been warned.
Hassan and Senol were there to keep an eye on everything as usual, the bar staff now led by adnan, feridun are there to ensure every need is taken care off.
Murat is still whirling about doing anything and everything that requires doing. The girls are still keeping the rooms spotless and even had time to indulge in a little turkish dancing with me ( nice for me )
All in all we were joined this time by my 2 sister inlaws and my brother in law who enjoyed them selves as well.
Had a good scrub session in the Turkish Hamman good value
If your looking for a good english breakfast at the top end of Marmaris try the Serenity Apartments

This has to be the best kept secret in the holiday world. I have never been looked after so well, any sign of rowdiness is quickly dealt with or unruly guests are quickly moved off the grounds.
The food is very good, and the all the staff are very kind and helpful. I have to admire the cleaners who are on the move from dawn till dusk. The pool is cleaned daily and after 2000hrs the pool is disinfected overnight.
The grounds are well maintained by Murat who is like a whirling derbisher on his own never resting. The hotel has safety boxes for hire and are in full view of reception where the ever watchful eye of Senol or Hassan or one of the receptionist are always available to help with your quieries. I will be arriving back at Club Likya on May 26th for another fortnight of excellent service. The rooms can hold up to 4 person as there is a fold down bed settee in the front room, the kitchen is adequate and all items for cooking are supplied. The bar never closes as long as your standing ( not falling down ) and the long hours the bar staff put in are incredible. even at 0500 hrs I have seen people being served, the bar doesnt only serve alchol but a large variety of soft drinks.
The Club Likya is situated about 15 minutes walk ( dont do it on a hot afternoon ) from the main street but a dolmus runs past the through road ever 10 to 15 minutes and costs next to nothing to travel on. ( take note all british bus private operators u could learn a lot from these dolmus operatives )
Icmeler is about 30 to 40 minutes away by dolmus and is well worth a good look, the food in the Venice restraunt ( locanta ) is very good and the boys will look after you very well. Also if you are looking for that special some thing for your girl friend wife or partner try Firuze jewlery on the main street on the way into marmaris both Sona and Murat will look after you and you will be suprised at the evaluation of the piece when you get back to home.
Other things to do Scuba Diving is brilliant and I completed the 4 day course whilst there , dont be afraid its well worth the effort. Boat trips round the bay another nice way to see the coastline and visit Turuc a small village named after orange trees although u can get a dolmus to the village from outside tansas in the town centre.
Market days are well worth a look, although since they have moved Marmaris market into the new building it has become impossible to see or buy anything and the place is so hot and over crowded,
Icmeler market is still out doors and if you go either go early or late to miss the crowds and of course dont forget to haggle a little u do get to enjoy the banter with the stall holders.
If you suffer from bad tummies while u are there as I did when i first visited then I discovered Iran its a turkish yogurt drink slightly salted you can buy this in any of the supermarkets drink it is settles your tummy I now drink at least 2 glasses a day while im over there.

We met up with good friends of ours...

We met up with good friends of ours from Singapore at Club Likya in July. It was the ideal place for us to meet up (mid-way between us) and the best holiday we ever had. Our friends (for whom it was a late honeymoon) were in tears leaving. They were returning home two days before us. The hotel is spotless, the cleaners never stopped working and all the staff were wonderful. Jasmine, the receptionist was so gentle and beautiful yet efficient. Senol, the owner, could not do enough to help us including serenading us from the bar as we sunbathed. Nothing was too much trouble for anyone. As stated in other reviews there was no problem getting a sunbed despite it being high season. It is ideally situated not too close to Marmaris centre yet close enough to enjoy a leisurely stroll at night. Dolmuses run every few minutes for those who want to venture into the centre. For health reasons I am limited in what I can drink and as the bar did not stock the drinks I require I asked if I could take my own to the pool. Senol had no problem with this which I did discretely for fear of anyone else thinking it was permissable to do the same with drinks which could be purchased from the bar. Someone has said they were told off for taking their own drinks to the pool but we have found this is what happens in most accommodation although in bigger places it is difficult to enforce. There are plenty of other places to eat if you want a change and we found the nearby Cinders restaurant owned by Phyll and Ahmet delicious. Of particular mention was their apple crumble which Martin from Singapore demolished pretty quickly. If you want a large impersonal complex with nightly entertainment and being wakened during the night then Lykia is not for you. If you want somewhere which is just about perfect give it a go. We tried to book again for September but they were booked out. When we tried to book for next year we learned that only private bookings are being taken so we have booked our flights separately and are looking forward to returning and having a ball once more. See you soon Senol!

This was our first visit to Turkey....

This was our first visit to Turkey. The staff, accommodation and location of the Club Likya Apartments could not have made it more memorable and enjoyable if they had tried.
I would like to talk about the apartments first. We had four adults staying in our apartment. There was plenty room (could do with more wardrobe space though!). The apartments were clean and fresh.
The grounds and pool area were cleaned every day. The staff were fantastic!! Everyone was very friendly and made you feel welcome.
Marmaris has a lovely harbour area where we found plenty of nice restaurants. The 'Jan Di Wit' Restaurant was our favourite.
The only thing we did not like, but you get to a point where you just ignore it, was that every restaurant you passed they tried to call you over to get you to use their restaurant. Sometimes if you pass one restaurant and go in to the one next door, when you come out the one you passed will accost you as to why you did not use their restaurant.
But that did not spoil the holiday or the experience of Turkey, Marmaris or the Likya Apartments (who I can't praise enough). We are seriously thinking of going back next year. If we do we will be staying at the Likya Apartments.

This was our first trip to Turkey and thanks to the owners and staff at the Club Likya Apartments it will not be our last.
The apartments are spotlessly clean, (a credit to cleaning staff) as is the pool area and surrounding gardens. Staff are very friendly and helpful.
You are able to walk into Marmaris it takes about 10 - 15mins or the bus stops just outside and costs 1 lira.
We would definitely have returned to these apartments, but we are disappointed to learn that they are not being used by Thomson next year.
