Just come back from Gran Tacande on an 11-day holiday. This is my ninth visit to Tenerife and this has to be the best hotel I have stayed in, all the staff are very friendly couldn't do enough to help.
Rooms were fantastic very spacious and clean, maid service every day sometimes twice.
The pool was excellent, no fighting for any sun loungers, didn't want to leave the complex to go to the beach (1 min walk) away as the surroundings was beautiful.
We only stayed bed & breakfast but no complaints, allot of variety of fresh food available and a chef would cook specialities for breakfast.
The resort has built up a great deal since my last visit with a variety of restaurants and bars to cater for all ages. The reviews I’ve read do not do this hotel or it's staff any justice I’ve been to many 5 star hotels in the past and this is just as good if not better, cant wait to go back.

By no stretch of the imagination is this a five star hotel. The service in the breakfast restaurant was poor with dirty coffee pots and queues to obtain poorly cooked fried eggs.
The restaurant was so poor we did not think about eating there at other times of the day.
On arrival there were insufficient towels in the room and no drinking glasses available.
On a more positive note when shortfalls were pointed out they were rectified quickly.

Fantastic hotel, spacious bedrooms, plenty of loungers although why do the English (not Germans) have to put down towels and go away for the day.
Food plentiful reasonable variety but did continental style. Rooftop adult only pool & bathing areas. Down sides evening shows not great, very quiet resort but great for that get away from it feeling. Hotel only at meal times did you realise it was busy.
It appeared at other times it was half empty as it was so spacious. Overall a good and recommended hotel & resort.

We stayed at this hotel in June this year and it has to be one of the best hotels we have ever stayed at abroad. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The food was absolutely fabulous with an outstanding selection from all over the world.
The hotel is situated very close to the famous Playa Del Duque Beach in an idyllic location. The rooms were beautiful and the bathrooms were also large and included a Jet Spa shower as well as a bath. The hotel had a full range of facilities including a spa, which is definitely worth a visit as it is a complete "Chill out haven". We highly recommend this five star luxury hotel to other discerning travellers.

Upon booking my first holiday abroad with a friend we decided to go to a hotel somewhere familiar. We had booked the 4 star hotel, Noelia Sur. However upon arriving we discovered that we had been over booked and were being transferred to another hotel, this being Gran Tacande.
We had no idea that this would be a five star hotel, and upon arriving very late at night because our flight was delayed, we were greeted with an overwhelming sense of luxury. The place looked amazing, I mean seriously amazing! Me and my mate Mo were stunned.
We were greeted by the friendliest of staff, who carried our luggage and made us feel most welcome.
Our room also was amazing, with fantastic views and a bathroom with 2 showers and two sinks (simple things amuse simple minds!), but the point I’m trying to make is that Gran Tacande make you feel like the hotel revolves around you.
Breakfast and dinner, the dining room looks like something from a really fancy ship or 1930´s dining room, once again with the friendliest of staff and the tastiest of food - I had caviar!!! Anyway I’ve whittled on enough, the Gran Tacande is amazing (and so is Ricardo, the dining room guy!) and I’ll certainly try and visit again, next time to impress the number one girl in my life!

I surprised my Mum for her 50th with a Spa holiday at the Gran Tacande and we were not disappointed.
The hotel was luxury and the Spa facilities were fantastic. Our room was enormous with amazing views and yes we too, had to sinks and two showers - which we thought was fab! The staff were lovely and the food great. We had breakfast delivered each morning where we sat out on our terrace enjoying the morning sun. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff.
We were so impressed with the place that we are having a second Mother and daughter holiday there, to be spoilt rotten once more!

Have stayed at this hotel twice now. First time in Jan 2007 and just returned (March 2008).
Both times we have been pleased and have had fabulous rooms. The last visit we had room 459 on Casa Fuerte block which was most certainly a superior room. Just could not fault it.
Reception staff were extremely helpful. Food was good with an outstanding choice. Did feel that evening meals were a little expensive and that an equal meal could be purchased out for the same price.
Depending on when you go, there should be sufficient sunbeds around the pool. This is of course subject to them not having towels placed on them to reserve them. Saw people doing this at 7 in the morning and the beds lefts empty until 4 in the afternoon which is very annoying. The towel monitor should remove them! Normally plenty of sunbeds available but if you go as we did for an Easter break then they do tend to fill up by mid morning.
Wonderfully situated in a real chill out location but near enough to wander into Puerto Colon for a meal or along the main street.
Have stopped at other hotels in Costa Adeje, but all things considered I think we would only bother with the Gran Tacande in future. Cheaper than other hotels and available to book online easily.
Can't wait until my next visit. Don't hesitate to book this hotel. I'm sure you will be delighted.
Catch a bus into Los Christianos and wander back along the sea front. It'll take you 2-3 hours, but well worth a relaxing walk. The bus fare is only 2.50 euros per couple. Bargain.
