Just returned from 2 great weeks at the Club Candan (Jandan) in Marmaris. This was the 3rd time back to Marmaris for myself, my husband & 2 boys (16&10) but the first time at the Candan, but the 1st time for our friends & there boys (14&10).
The Hotel was really nice, we had a ground floor 1 bedroom apartment, at first we were a little disappionted as our balcony was on the side of the hotel and we looked at waste ground, our friends were on the 4th floor over looking the pool, there room was very humid. As mentioned before there is only air con in the bedrooms, but because the sun was never fully on our room, the air con & a hired fan (£10 for the 2 weeks) it stopped cool all day which was nice when returning from going out or the pool. The room was basic (there again when on holiday you don't expext the luxuries) but very spacious , it was cleaned every day and the beds made, sheets and towels were changed every couple of days. You do have to supply your own toilet roll, but that wasn't a problem just don't buy it from the shop on site as you get 6 for the say price in the supermarkets.
The pool and area around it was clean although a lot of people were getting ear infections. There was the same old problem with sunbeds, even though there were sign's saying you couldn't put your towels down before 9, people were putting them down far earlier, so we just followed suit. The slide was an added bonus the kids thought it was great and so ddid the adults, but you do have to be careful as some people didn't allow you to move before coming down. The stairs going up the slide get slippey to a couple of people did fall while we were there.
The 2 men in our party did have a Turkish bath, it was £20 for steam room, sauna, the scrub & oil massage this also gave you access to the gym for the duration of your stay.
The shop at the hotel was expensive, we used the big supermarket down by the harbour called Tanas (Turkish Tesco's) the prices in here were very good. Also around the pool there was a jewllers, a hairdressers which we didn't use, a tattooist this guy was brill, very clean and hygenic and doesn't mind anyone watching, just watch though the leagal age here is 16. also the photographer is good we booked to have some photos took and he must have taken about 40. It only takes an hour then you can have a look at them. He does some good deals with albums, but we just had some single prints.
We ate at the pool bar most lunch times as the prices were reasonable, the staff were very friendly and made you feel welcome. We ate out most nights and went to some of the bars that had been mentioned in other reviews, Janas & Beverley Hills we had lovely meals but the service wasn't all that good they kept trying to supply us with drinks to keep us there for the shows and when we said we wanted the bill we had to ask several times and then wait an age. If you want a good steak then you can't beat the George and Dragon all though this was the dearest place we paid. If you follow the main road down from here there are two more bars Faulty Towers & The Puppy Bar, both do great meals and the staff were fantastic, more so at the Puppy Bar, they organised a birthday party for my youngest on our last night as they wouldn't see him on his birthday which was two days later, they gave him a chocolate birthday cake, balloons and banners all free. (the chocolate cake was to die for).
We only did one trip (as we have done them all before) and that was to the water park up in the mountain (Aqua Splash) this was a bit disappointing as it only had 7 slides, a wave pool and a swimming pool, even so we all enjoyed ourselves there, you are not allowed to take any food or drink in, you have to us a credit card system, by means of keep adding money to a card. The prices weren't to bad. The only gripe we had was there was no shade around the pools and when its 46 degrees you need some shade.
All in all we had a fabulous hoilday, good company, good food and a great hotel. If we hadn't been to marmaris 3 times then we would definitely go back to the Candan, who knows may be in a few years we will. Would definitely recommend this hotel to others.

we have just returned from a 2wk hols at club candan we were a group of 5/ 4 adults 1 child age 10. the hotel was very nice, but we didnt like the area it was very dirty and run down, the road the hotel was in was called " sokak " which was a gr8 description. we asked for low floor rooms but the rooms we had were on the top floor in the roof @ only having air con in bedroom the apt was sweltering we had to hire a fan for our son as he slept in the lounge as it was 1bed apt. the apt was very spacious and was well equipped, they cleaned every day and clean towels every other day. the only thing was the toilet used to stink especially in the morning not very nice.... also as we already knew toilet rolls are non existent... the balcony was large but overlooked a piece of wasteground which was full of rubbish and an old tramp lady lived in there in a tin hut, not the best of views... hotel staff were friendly enough but the restaurant staff were very rude as i think they like you to eat there every night, as they were so expensive, we ate out they didnt like it. the hotel prices were extortionate we found a lovely place to eat called summer rain just 2min walk couldnt of ask for more they looked after us we ate there 12nights inc breakfast. the pool seemed clean but my son had an inner ear infection possibly from the pool we had to call for a doctor he was very good and after an injection couple of days not swimming it cleared up. was quite a large pool with a wall going round to keep little ones separate. the slides were good fun fo the kids but we couldnt get sun loungers much before 4pm there were towels out before 8 in the morning even though there are signs to say towels will be removed. there was entertainment on every nite gr8 for the kids we played bingo every night won a few times, the bingo lady was gr8 fun she was the best one there. the hotel is right opposite a mosque which the calling goes off 5 times a day stating at 5am in the morning so that woke us up most days. we tried the markets in marmaris @ iscemeler wouldnt recommend it it was like a cattle market they wouldnt leave us alone, this we found to be common even walking down the road after a week we got really annoyed. i had one incident in the market wher they tried to give me the wrong change. marmaris beach front only 10min walk lovely seafront view @ harbour but the beaches werent very nice, water all murky and beach filled with dirty rubbish. we went on the bus to iscmeler beach much nicer. even the town here was much nicer and they didnt bother us as much as marmaris. the weather was fantastic the whole 2wks very hot 45 mostly. the buses were gr8 every 2min one comes. we went on some boat trips mud bath: lazy day but they were too long and the boats all have banging music all the time so wasnt very relaxing. mud bath/ turtle trip was very good and we went to a fantastic beach it was amazing.my son and husband had a turkish bath and massage at the hotel they said was fantastic and well worth it. i recommend the hotel salon i had my hair done to come home was very good and good price. so to finish up we wont be going back to this part of turkey again if we did ever go back we would go to iscmeler.

Have just returned from a fortnights holiday at club candan. We had a fantastic holiday the staff were really helpful, the room was basic but very clean with towels and sheets changed every other day. The only downside was trying to get a sunbed, after being assured that there were enough sunbeds for everyone, there were four of us and we were lucky to get one. Despite there being notices in the hotel about not reserving sunbeds, people were putting their towels on beds then going out for the daY. Also people from other hotels were coming in and using them too, we complained several times but nothing was done about it except to say that if we wanted to we could remove the towels. Apart from that really good will be going back. Thoroughly recommend the george and dragon pub and restaurant, good food lovely people especially spike and Deniz. After being recommended to go to the beverly hills, i would never go there again, were made to feel very uncomfortable we ordered drinks and because we didn't order food staff became quite aggressive and tried to charge us 100 extra lira, not a very nice experience.

We used the photography stand in the hotel quite alot. the photos were of outstanding quality, and the professional photos were top class and a great price. The man who worked at the photography stand everyday was a great help, very friendly and never short of a smile. He kept our hopes of the Turkish people being welcoming nice people alive, as some other hotel staff were not as warm.

not long back, what a great time we had(11) of us,apartments were spot on,couldn't fault them in anyway. We only ate snacks at the club candan which were really nice.we went down to jana's dream 11 out of 14 nights excellent food and drinks, and there cocktails.would recomend jana's to everyone, very very friendly and polite, not just to get money out of you,but they also will give you info on lots of things that the rep doesn't tell you.Santana bar also very good great staff, made many friends in marmaris, and we will be back next year.

Just back on Monday from Turkey, we stayed at Club Candan it was excellent, entertainment on every night in the complex, plenty for the kids to do slide in the pool was a big bonus and the kids played in the pool all day for the first week without getting bored. Food was quite good and reasonably priced, waiters were very friendly especially Ozzie, Charlie & Memmet. Apartments were very clean & maid came every day, the only gripe is the fact that there is only air-conditioning in the bedroom & not the living room. Make sure you ask for a pool view as my sister was put in a studio style apt which was quite cramped & had a fire escape running through her balcony, but they did move her on the second week when a g=bigger apt came available.. We went to Janas a few nights as it came highly reccommended in the reviews food was nice but was more expensive than the Club Candan restaurant and once we had ate we found it quite difficult to get our bill as the waiters were too busy dancing around the place like mad men and obviously didnt want you to leave straight away so found this a bit annoying and to be honest put us off going back. The main shops were agood 10min walk away which was fine as there is a dolmus bus service which runs every 5 mins if you dont fancy the walk. We went on the jeep safari which was a great days craic but dont forget your water pistol as the other jeeps soak you. Would def go back to Club Candan highly reccommended.

this was my first visit to turkey and i was really impressed with everything. there was 4 of us there including 2 kids age12 and 16 and they said it was the best holiday they have ever had. we stayed at the club candan self catering apartments and they were first class. on arrival at the apartments we were met by the porters who took our luggage up to our room. the apartments were really clean and the pool area was lovely. there was a large chute for the kids [parents included] which kept everyone amused for a few hours. the bar area served food all day from breakfasts to dinners to suppers. they also had a happy hour from 8pm till9pm every night. outside of the complex there are loads of lovely restaurants which are alln very cheap. we spent most of our time in janas restaurant. the ffod was lovely and they also had great entertainment which was put on by the waiters. my 16 year old daughter just loved this fun pub. she is now home and knows every turkey dance. the waiters[romi; carlos; rami; martin; michael; kevin and akin ] were allreally nice. one thing not to do in turkey is go to bar street; drinks are a rip off at 6.50 for a spirit. i can say that i will definately be returning to turkey next year.

Have just come home after 2 weeks staying at Club Candan (pronounced Jandan) it was our first visit to Turkey, but it certainly wont be our last. The apartments were very clean only gripe is that you couldnt walk around appartment without something on your feet especially after shower as they would be black. The staff were very friendly and helpful especially on reception, the on site mini market is extortionate (£4 for a newspaper) better off using mini market down the road (opp mosque) half the price. The pool area was fab, waterslide kept kids happy, the sunbeds were practically on top of each other, but it was a good way of getting to know other people, I managed to get 5 sunbeds if I went down between 8 &9 not 5 in the morning which has been suggested. There are some great places to eat and drink Janas Dream is great fun and good for a drink but the food is nothing to rave about, the best places to eat are Natalie's Steak House which is located on beach front and the Rovers Return which is inbetween beach front and main road, the george and dragon is also very good value, the best places to drink are on beach front (walk down to main road and turn right by the jewellers) avoid the harbour like the plague (especially the chinese restaurants) as they are a big rip off they will entice you in offer you freebies for the kids and then charge nearly double for adults meal then they have the cheek to add a service charge without telling you. Bar street you just get hassled so if you have kids stick to the other end, Talk of the Town, Anfield Bar, Rovers Return, Turtle bar etc, but if you dont want the 20 min walk then Janas Dream and Beverly Hills are good cheesy bars, dont be tempted by the promise of Michael Jackson and Freddy Mercury tribute shows at Janas, because its only only one of the waiters dressed up and mimes to 1 song (bit cheesy, but a good laugh all the same). All in all Club Candan was an excellent base for our holiday and if you get fed up of sitting by the pool the Thompsons kids sunsplash cruise was excellent and well worth the £63 for 3 adults and 2 children with lunch and drinks included. Marmaris isnt as cheap as some people make out but I would definately come back and stay at Club Candan.
ps dont forget to bring your toilet rolls.

Arrived at apartments, ground floor apartment with pool view seemed great. Until that night when we returned to find around 10 - 15 COCKROACHES running around, they were even in cutlery drawer. Informed reception who moved us straight away to 3rd floor.
Rooms are very nice, but cleaners dont do a very good job of cleaning them. walking around apartment your feet end up dirty. towels are not changed often enough. There is only air con in bedroom not in living room, so its to hot for anyone to sleep in living area.
Pool area is not as big as it looks on photos, there is not enough sunbeds for everyone. If you want sunbeds you have to be up early to grab them. There is alot of people use this pool who arn't stopping there, so that dosnt help matters. Everyone seems to be on top each other, there is no spare space to get away from pool like a garden area.
Bar and dining area is ok, drinks are exspensive here, although they do a happy hour at 8. Food is reasonable. Entertainment during day consists of pool games with hotel staff, night time there is bingo, quiz, karoke and shows, which is the usual. Hotel have a turkish night on Saturdays which is poor, we ended up waiting for plates and knives. (give it a miss)
Good point to stopping here is that it is very central, 10mins walk to beach and into town. Having read other reviews on where to eat, we headed straight to Janas, there english breakfasts are the best. Food on night is very poor, Beverley hills bar has some great entertaiment but food is rubbish. Natalies on beach front do nice steaks with massive portions. The best place to eat is uno memento, which is a beautiful restaurant and one of the cheapest we ate at.
The only trip we went on was thomsons sun splash cruise, we had such a good time we re booked it for the following week.
Holiday overall was great, although day in day out around pool sitting on top of one another is to much, if you spend odd days away from pool, its fantastic.
Would i return to club candan..... Yes but....not in peak season. Its a great base and theres lots to do in marmaris

Just returned from a scorching hot 2 weeks at the Club Candan with my wife and two kids (aged 6 & 9). I can only say positive things about the place really as we all thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
The Pool was really clean and the slide kept the kids amused for hours. Sunbeds could be a problem somedays, but the Reps said they were getting more beds due to a couple of complaints.
The restaurant and bar area were very good and the staff, particularly Charlie, Ozzie and Dennis, were very friendly and helpful. The entertainment is OK. The prices around the bar are a bit more expensive than elsewhere, but you come to expect that. It's cheaper to drink alcohol than soft drinks, making the kids drinks pricey, but thats the same throughout the resort. Food at the bar restaurant was OK.
The Club Candan shop is a rip off, and the only reason I have not given ten out of ten. I know the apartment shops are always more expensive but they are more than double the supermarket 3 minutes away. A good idea we were given is to buy carton drinks from the supermarket and freeze them in you room. These were only 35 cents and ice lollies are more than 4 times this amount.
We are not a family who particularly like having our photo's taken, but decided to give it a try once we had a tan. It was a very good decision as the photo's came out brilliant and were great value for money. We got 12 - 8" x 6" and 1 - 12" x 8" photo for 120 lira (about £53), and the photographers (Alex and Jeck Jnr) are very professional and friendly.
The room is of a decent standard and cleaned regularly but would benefit from a second Air Conn unit in the main room.
The only negative isn't really to do with Club Candan, it's the hassle you get from people trying to get you into their restraunt everywhere you go. If you say you've eaten or are meeting someone at another restaurant they leave you alone, but expect to get asked at least 15 times a night if you go to the beach area for food. Still very annoying after a while.
On the whole an excellent holiday and met some very nice Turks and brits abroad.

Just returned from 2nd visit to Club Candan. Last yr was myself and 23yr old daughter. This yr took a 7yr old with us. Only stayed for a week but definitely booking for at least 2 next yr - unless we can manage to get time off work end of Oct this yr!
As we got off the coach the waiters were waiting to take our cases to our rooms even though it was 2am!! They immediately recognised us from last yr and welcomed us back down to the bar for a snack and ice cold beer.
The 7yr old had to be dragged out of the pool regularly but we did manage to get her to come on the Sunsplash boat trip - highly recommended if you've got youngsters. They were kept entertained in between swims by the excellent Kidzone reps.
The acommodation is spotless and the service provided by waiters - especially Ossie, (very special mention - he went out of his way to accomodate a normally big eating 7 yr old who became vey fussy in the heat) Dennis, Adam and Eric was second to none. Drew and the Kidzone reps seemed to entertain kids and adults day and night.
Entertainment in the nights included Karaoke, shows incl High School Musical and grease although disappointed as Turkish night cancelled lack of interest.
The hotel photographer took stunning photographs of my daughter on a nearby beach - the envy of all her friends for a fraction of what it would have cost in this country!
Really cannot think of anything negative to say and recommend this for couples and families alike.
