Lovely but be aware

Yes this hotel obviously was a great place in it's day but has suffered since but things are happening albeit slowly. The waterslides (AquaPark) no longer work and haven't for what appears to be an entire season although our tour operator didn't inform us prior to booking. It wasn't terribly well organised in that our package was self catering although there wasn't a spoon, plate etc in our apartment however they did provide us breakfast and dinner free of charge. Always very pleasant, with lovely views overlooking the ocean. Pool is one of the biggest in Kas so kids loved it. Being on the Peninsula it does get more of a cooling breeze in the heat for which we were grateful. Hotel food was good although after 2 weeks the breakfasts did get a little boring. We loved the place but if you are banking on these water slides then you're going to be disappointed. They coming down due to safety concerns.
I would go back there again.

A lovely Holiday overall. The Hotel...

Oct 2008, Miss D Chapman

A lovely Holiday overall. The Hotel position is fantastic - very tranquil with stunning views across the Med to Meis. We were in an apartment which was situated 200 steps (up) from the main Hotel facilities but we soon got used to it - even in 35 degrees! Definitely not for push chairs or wheelchairs but great excercise to burn off all those ice creams!
The apartment itself was spacious with a lovely big balcony, but quite poorly equipped if you are thinking of seriously self catering. The kettle didn't work and took a while to be replaced. Twice we had no hot water and the balastrade around our balcony broke - luckily a child wasn't leaning on it at the time. There were 4 of us in the apartment (2 adults, 2 kids) and only bedding for 2. The maid worked it out and gave us more. Staff were pleasant but didn't really seem to have any sense of urgency.
The best bit was the pools which are fantastic and kept the little ones (aged 9 and 5) amused continuosly. There were 4 all in all - baby pool, flume pool, waterfall top pool and the main pool. All are warm salt water which was perfect for teaching our youngest to swim. There is a swim up bar which was closed but we took our drinks to it and swam up anyway. The pool bar served good food but was a little pricey.
There is no shop to speak of and the pizzaria is also closed. It seems this hotel could be a little gold mine if run properly. You need to go into Kas to buy food and drink for the apartment but the buses run every half hour and are cheap and fun. Dolphin beach is gorgeous and almost deserted, with a great little cafe.
Kas is beautiful and the food fantastic and fairly cheap. The men were rather attentive to our little blond 5 yr old but meant no harm. Try the back streets for the best restuarants and don't miss a boat trip to Kalkan or the Sunken City.

This was a very late booking and felt...

Aug 2007, Mr H Smith

This was a very late booking and felt we were taking a chance, as we could find so little info on this hotel, but me, my wife and three children (9, 6 & 2 years) were pleasantly surprised on what greeted us.
The hotel was clean, food good and the staff were friendly, but they struggled with communication (not their fault) as the majority of guests were either Turks, German or Dutch. We saw this as another benefit that the English were a minority and most of the other guests spoke English, so none of us felt isolated.
The rooms had a kitchenette facility with sink fridge/mini bar and cupboards for food storage and a small cooker/hob unit. Our room was not meant for 5, but the hotel squeezed us in at our request, but our room had the smallest shower/toilet we have ever encountered, but it did the job.
Having said this we saw rooms occupied by others, who booked far earlier, which were much more spacious and booked directly with the hotel for 330 YTL/week.
The hotel would have scored a higher mark if they paid a little more attention to health and safety, especially considering the number of children on site, as walkways did not have handrails although there were drops of approximately 1 metre and the concrete balustrade around the pool could easily be passed through by a small child and there was a drop of several metres down to the sea.
The hotel is situated on a steep cliff, rising straight out of the sea, which provides beautiful scenery, but means that any walk involves steps, making a push chair almost useless, if you have very small children and very hard work for some of the less mobile adults.
The on-site animation team were very attentive without being pushy and managed to entertain and involve everyone at some point during our stay.
The pool was salt water, which was impeccably clean and is drained and cleaned by hand every week. The general consensus of the guests we spoke to felt this was a good value hotel and would be inclined to return despite the safety issues and we feel the same.
