Lovely and quiet!
from ebo1
Greenworld was a lovely place to stay, with all amenities, you didnt even need to leave if you didnt want to.Though the local dolmus made it easy enough to get into town. After changing rooms, our poolside view room was lovely and clean. This would definitely be a hotel we cold go back to...big pool, lots of sunbeds, nice poolside restaurant, and helpful staff. Our only complaint was the entertainment staff kept asking us to joins in the games, though im sure if we had children we would really appreciate this factor.we would recommend greenworld to anyone looking for a relaxing holiday, with panoramic views,in aquiet area....
Just Go There
from hjanas86
Just returned from Greenworld appts in Ichmeller Turkey. It was our first holiday in Turkey ( 4 adults aged 41 -43 and 4 kids 9 - 14) What a fantastic place. It is siuated in the woods and is only a 10 minute bus ride (40p) into town. I couldnt see the point of going anywhere other than this oasis - which I would descibe as a Turkish Jewel! The rooms are immaculate as well everywhere else in the hotel. The pool area is washed down and pool cleaned every night. The staff put british hotel staff to shame, you want for nothing ( that goes for most of the other restraunts in Ichmeller too!) everyone is so helpful. The owners like to swim and mix with guests and seemed to be giving so much drinks and ice cream away , that their profits took quite a hit while we were there!. The food is good and prices for drinks and food was really good. They work on a card scheme - you put money on a card ( I was a little concerned but this system works!!!) I checked all my recipts and they were spot on. Air Conditioning is £25 a week - but you cant leave it on all day, as soon as a door opens it switches off - no matter it soon cools down. We had a room at the front facing the room - It was excellent as the sun didnt penetrate the room as much as poolside view , like our friends. The rooms get cleaned and towels changed daily and the bed linen changed every other day. THERE ARE NO MOZZIES! the area outside on the roads get a blast of insecticide everynight. I am a bug magnet but didnt have a single bite !!! Behind the wall adjacent to th epool were several chickens - the odd cock a doodle doo in the morning about 9 ish was quite funny. Chover and his staff (pronounced Chewy) really looked after the kids and adults with games , nothing over the top - just about right. Water polo , darts etc if you didnt want to join in there was no ill feeling they said thanks and smiled - you didnt feel threatened like some entertainers make you feel when they start nagging - so that was ok. The pool was 1.5 m shallow and 1.5 m deepest ends. There were whirl pools at both ends and a huge kiddies paddling pool at the end. Internet cafe 3TL a half hour, gym, hairdressers, henna tattoos and Turkish baths. Loads and loads of sun loungers and plenty of room alround . 42* hot was the highest and a slight breeze at around 3 oclock every afternoon The only thing that slightly irritated me was the restraunt manager Tim - we ate their regulaurly but those who didnt were snubbed a little when ordering by poolside during the day, they like you to eat there - but hey ho its self catering so its up to us all to decide where we eat! We ate out at Bonjour, Majestic and the lighthouse regulaurly excellent food and Very reasonable prices! There is a lot of touting for restraunt business but just take the menus and say you have eaten. If you want to go to Turkey its got to be Greenworld - 2hr transfer from Dalaman airport in an excellent air condition bus so its a good trip and 4 1/2 flight from the UK.
One of the best.

This is by far the best apartments i have ever stayed at. The staff, Martin, Daria and the team make you fell at home and nothing is too much trouble for them. The entertainment team of Shuggy and Ozzie are really funny and keep all the kids amused. The reception staff are also very friendly and eager to help. There is a great pool to relax bye with plenty of sunbeds and brolly's, so no need to get up early. The card system operated by the hotel is a breeze, you spend and then you pay your bill at the reception when it suits you. The rooms are spotless and well equiped. Will be going back next year. My first Turkish holiday
from Jomagz72
I have just got back from my stay at green world. I found it to be a enjoyable experience. The accomodation is very clean. The staff were nice and they looked after us well. The maid service is top class and once a week they put lovely towel and flower arrangements on your bed. The food served in the restaurant was v tasty. If you fancy a change from the norm try the Turkish breakfast. Nice and healthy. Hooray to Tim and the staff. I would stay here again.. The Dolmus buses stop outside the apartments and only cost 1 tl into town.
Cannot recommend enough, absolutely fantastic, go there!

Looking through the reviews I cannot believe anyone could say anything negative about Greenworld, the staff were absolutely brilliant, nothing was a problem for them, some of the nicest people I have ever met. It was just myself and my boyfriend went for a relaxing week's holiday and that's exactly what we got. Icmeler is a lovely town and we were so close by bus which we could catch right outside the apartments. The food was amazing, the best chicken curry and steak I have tasted. We will definitely return.
Just like the Brochure says!!
from WalesSatisfied
Greenworld really is just like you see in the brochure. It is set among pine clad hills with a beautiful pool area - and plenty of sunbeds which you have no need to leave as waiter service is provided. The waiters were very friendly to us although we did not spend much time in the pool bar/restaurant. The card system which operates in lieu of cash was no problem at all and you sign for everything with each receipt showing the balance. The jacuzzi pools are switched on periodically at the waiter's behest. The pool is very very cold although ok once you aclimatise. Our 1 bed apartment was on a corner so slightly smaller living and bedroom area although absolutely satisfactory for two and overlooked the gorgeous pool. Slightly noisy (loud music not guests) if you tried to have a siesta in the late afternoon. The apartment was cleaned daily with fresh towels several times a week. A small supermarket (stocked only with basics) is on site though quite expensive. The fresh bread every morning was delicious (just 50p). There is always a dolomus (local bus) outside the hotel that will take you to Icmeleer for 50p or Marmaris for £1. Catch a taxi boat back from Marmaris for about £3.50 - well worth it. The best restaurants are the Love Boat (steak Jack Daniels is amazing) and for traditional Turkish fare and hospitality Kerem (just across the road from Love Boat by the river) with the lovely Yesari and Layla (you MUST try Turkish mezze for two and Layla's homemade cheesecake). In the better restaurants expect to pay around £50 for two, for three courses with wine. Drinks are quite expensive in the hotel and resorts. Cocktails around £5 most places. The food at the pool bar is quite good - do try the Turkish meatballs, they are quite delicious. if you fancy a full English this is good too. The best thing about Greenworld is the location, pool area, cleanliness and access to icmeler by bus. Not so good are the wasps and bees by the pool (several young children were stung). Surprisingly you get used to them (and i am terrified of insects) and if you kep still they fly on past. Reception staff were always quite miserable. Sometimes the music playing in the pool bar in the late afternoon was irritatingly loud. However, everything shuts down around midnight as it is a family hotel. Thomsons reps did nothing to enhance our holiday. They were only interested in selling excursions to you. Trips were expensive and although we did not buy any, we were advised by others that they were not value for money. The best things about Turkey are the people - very happy and engaging. They welcome you into their shops and often offer tea or soft drinks if they like you. We did not get half as much hassle as we were led to believe although the authorities have clamped down from last year. Bargains are very good fake handbags and designer t-shirts, leather goods, gold jewelery - don't be afraid to go in and price what you fance but be aware they use a lot of crystal in place of diamonds but this is reflected in the price. Ensure you barter for everything as starting prices are high! The weather for the third week of September was warm and sunny - a couple of thunderstorms in the night but clear and warm by day. On a couple of evenings a cardigan was needed. All in all a very nice holiday. Elizabeth and Richard.
Somewhat underwhelmed
from AllisonLondon
After combing the internet for reviews on Greenworld I expected it to be really good but was sadly disappointed. There are some positive features but in my opinion some quite poor aspects as well and I don't think that it deserves four stars. I'll start with the really good stuff. The location, it is set at the bottom of pine clad hills and absolutely lovely. Bear in mind that it is a good 25 mins walk to the centre of Icemeler (which suited us). This nice environment does mean lots of bees and wasps, so care is needed. It is in easy walking distance to the old village, which was definitely worth a walk through and for my husband a fabulous Turkish shave. It also had an excellent swimming pool, approx 25 m- 1.5 deep, and a small children’s' pool - 0.5 metres. This kept our daughter entertained. In addition there is a toddler’s play area. There is a Turkish bath, a small but decent gym and a sauna. The Turkish bath was excellent and 1 to 1. I made use of the running machine and my husband used the sauna, however, this attracted a fee of £5 a go. The standard of cleanliness was exceptional, I'm really picky about this type of thing, but had absolutely no complaints at all. Although self catering the maid came in each day and tidied. When we first arrived I was disappointed that there was no easy chair or comfortable seating in the living room of our apartment, only a made up bed for our daughter. When I asked at reception for a couple of chairs they were totally unhelpful. I had to actually get the brochure and show them the rooms that they were advertising which eventually got the issue sorted. There were other maintenance issues with our room, my bed base was broken, the shower sprayed water from the sides of the head and the peddle bin in the bathroom was broken, all these issues were reported, only the bed base was replaced. The restaurant food was OK but much to English for our liking. If you like Nescafe, PG tips and a fry up then this is the place for you. Personally we wanted some a little more authentic but they didn't stock Turkish tea or Coffee "because the English don't like it". This pretty much summed up the main area of Icemeler as well, catering for English tastes, fry ups, roast beef and pizza. We had to look hard to find authentic Turkish restaurants. We did find an excellent take away who supplied the most amazing Pide, but when I asked the receptionist if she would call the order through (due to my total inability to read the menu) she initially declined and appeared concerned that her manager wouldn't approve. I found this quite frustrating and poor customer service, we were after all in self catering. Unlike the previous review we experienced very little in the way of entertainment at Greenworld. I wonder if they lost some key staff before our visit. There was nothing on during the day and with the exception of the Turkish evening which was quite good the rest of the entertainment was delivered by dancers doing very short sets, they would stay 10 minutes and leave to go to the next hotel. While we did have a good holiday, it was only because we made the most of it, I won't return to Greenworld, or Icemeler. I will certainly however, go back to Turkey but next time look for something a little more Turkish.
Could not find fault with the Greenworld !

Just returned from a 10 day stay at the Greenworld only problem is I should have stayed 2 weeks!! This was a family holiday 2 adults and 2 children and we cannot think of a bad thing to say. It was the perfect place to relax but also enough going on to keep you amused. Daytime entertainment was water polo and occasional pool bingo or pool competitions etc and in the evening there was turkish night which was very good value food was excellent and turkish dancers and staff show entertaining. Some nights mini disco, magic show, Mr Greenworld competition etc. Apartments located about 5 minute dolmus ride from Icmeler town which run every 10/15 mins and only cost 1 lira (45p). Beach in Icmeler is quite gritty and narrow but if you are beach people the sea is very clear and warm. Good choice of restaurants and shops around the canal area of Icmeler. We took a water taxi to Marmaris which must be the best way to get there with all the views you get on the way, didnt stay long there as it was very hot evening (32 degrees at 9pm) and very busy so caught dolmus back to Icmeler for more laid back Turkey life. Apartments are spotlessly clean, towels changed and rooms cleaned daily. Pool area is fantastic, enough sunbeds for everyone even in August so no need to get up early. The swimming pool must be the biggest in the area and even when the pools busy still plenty of room for everyone. The Greenworld restaurant is perfect for breakfast (best pancakes ever) lunch and dinner, never had a bad meal and as they run a card system no need to carry money just settle your bill when you like. All in all perfect holiday, had excellent weather and could not have stayed in a better place, thanks to the restaurant manager Temel and all his staff we were thoroughly looked after and entertained. Will definitely look to return again very soon.

Good Hotel.

We have just returned from a week's holiday at the Greenworld Apartments in Icmeler, Turkey. The hotel itself was a great size, not too big and not too small. The bedrooms were also well sized and can easily sleep 4 people. They had a lovely clean bathroom and self catering facilities. We had a view overlooking the swimming pool which was fab! The pool was a great size, it was the same dept throughout and had 2 whirlpools at either end. There is also a small kid's pool. The water in all pools was very cold. OK when you've been in it for a while and had a chance to go numb! The kids enjoyed it though so maybe its just us old'ns that struggle with the temperature! There is also a children's play area (slides/swing etc) which kept the smaller kids amused. There is also a grassed area which is great for football. The hotel operates a charge card system which means whenever you purchase anything from the shop/market or the restaurant within the hotel it is charged to your account which you can settle up at ayntime during your stay or at the end of the holiday. I think the idea is so there is no money being handled and also hoping people are more relaxed and spend more when they are not actually handling the cash - almost gives you the feel of an all inclusive!! It is currently out of season so there was no entertainment apart from every Wednesday they hold a 'Turkish Night', food was not great at all but entertainment was OK. Food in the restaurant was very good - we only had a couple of breakfasts and lunch snacks but they were all very tasty and reasonably priced. Beware - toilet rolls are not replaced so when finished you will have to buy more yourself. Apparently this is the same where ever you stay in Turkey so not a real reflection on this particular hotel. The hotel does have air conditioning and safety deposit boxes - both you have to pay for. (The first place ever we have stayed where you pay for the air con - not sure if this is Turkey in general or just this hotel!?) The main negative for us was the Wasps! By the end of the week they start to really irritate you - the reception holds sting relief cream at the ready which probably shows you the extent of the problem although they put it down to the neighbouring hotel! The hotel is a bus ride from Icmeler centre but this didn't bother us at all as they are cheap and regular. The positive to this is that it is set in a beautiful quiet location surrounded by the picturesque mountains. All in all - some small bad points but generally a lovely hotel.
