Tryp Verona Hotel

After securing a very cheap return airfare, three girlfriends and I looked for an equally good deal in accommodation. We chose this very well appointed hotel because it offered excellent facilities for a very reasonable price. Why? Well, it is about three miles from the centre of Verona, in a dull industrialised area near major motorways. But a free mini bus does the return trip a couple of times a day and taxi fares - if you share - won’t break the bank.
The self-serve breakfasts are to die for- mountains of fresh fruit, oodles of bacons, eggs and crispy dollops of potatoes alongside cereal and pastries. The bedrooms are large and comfortable and you really don’t notice what is outside. The service though is a bit soulless. This is a part of a Spanish chain that specialises in business conventions rather than providing an authentic taste of the Italian experience - still all that’s a mini bus ride away.
