Excellent!
from CarrabianCool!
Hotel Lara Beach was simply excellent! The resort is large and deffinately 5 star! The food is excellent in the main buffet resteraunt. It is different from burgers and hot dogs but it got me trying different things and it was all beautifull! (some days they do have french fries!). The desserts were especially excellent! They also had a little hut near the beach that served pizza 12 till 4! Also, visit the Italian resteraunt. Posh and absolutely gorgous! 1 visit per stay and its included in the all inclusive! The pool areas are large and very picturesc! There is also an adult pool for a little piece and quiet! There are many water sports on the beach but motorised ones you pay for! In the complex there are also flumes for the kids (or big kids!). Day time activities include water polo, beach volley ball, archery, football and even water arobics for the ladies! The turkish staff and entertainment team are very polite and friendly and will go out of your way to talk to you! Some of them are crazy! Try the turkish bath, fantastic! Very small downsides - The hotel is in a location that is purely for relaxation. The nearest shopping town is 25 mins taxi ride away! Do not go expecting loads to do outside the resort (although there are many excursions you can take through your travell rep!) Evening Entertainment isn't fantastic, we even got a saucy rendition of Aladdin! There needs to be more choice in local spirits! no alternative to malibu, baileys or ameretto, £ of my favourite spirits! In all a fantastic relaxing holiday in an high standard resort!
lovely relaxation

My family & I loved our stay at Lara Beach. 3 teenagers (19, 17 & 14) had a great time & our 10 yr old had the time of his life. We mixed with every nationality you could think of & made lots of friends. The beach is shingle but the sea was warm & we spent lots of time there. Fresh towels everyday were a bonus, inside hotel & outside. Food was good , never had a problem seating all 6 of us at any time. Although by the end of the holiday the older kids sat & ate with friends. Staff were wonderful, very friendly & helpful. If you like to use your hotel as a base to explore from go somewhere else. For us it was no problem as we ski twice a year & truly you can really relax here, as we like to. Noise from next door hotel would never be a problem, you can hear it on beach of evening but when you're back in your room patio windows are shut for air con. Far too many good points to mention, but can't wait to return.
amazing.

The hotel was absolutely amazing. The food, the views, the pools everything. Plenty to do whatever your age. I personally enjoyed the fact that there was always somewere quiet to sit whatever the time and just have a drink. On the other hand, there was also many a loud, lively place to have a laugh with friends such as the silence pool bar which was always lively. The only things that could be improved would be the nighttime entertainment and the lack of shops. The night time entertainment did not go on long enough, and left the rest of the evening rather empty. And there were a few shops on the resort, but not enough. There were some shops a while off. I reccomend taking a taxi there and getting the free bus back. Overall a highly enjoyable stay with plenty to do. And as a final note, watch out for the camera man. Haunts you he does.
Fantastic

HOTEL LARA BEACH IS LOVELY THE PLACE IS LIKE A PALACE , food brilliant complex excellant and very clean, most of the staff very good especially Erkan on reception. , ONLY DOWN SIDE NOT ANY CLOSE SHOPS NEAR BY NEED TO GET ON A COACH, ALTHOUGH THERE ARE A FEW ON COMPLEX. It is a german orientated hotel but no problems the mini bar would be better filled up with pop as well as water. this is our first time at this hotel and we will definately be going back next year, usual we have been to the sister hotel in hisaronu. if the staff from there went to lara beach the place would be best ever. with love the Pointon family manager very friendly and always on hand.
Wonderful Week

Took a while to decide on Lara Beach hotel, did so after viewing the forum here on TripAdvisor and advice given was extremely helpful in making what was a sound choice. Took our 16 year old son with us and had a family 4 room, which meant 1 double and 1 single bed and a chaise longue which we used as a setee (and for storing my 16year olds clothes, have you ever seen a teenager hang their clothes?), but was ample as a bed for a youngster! Hotel was not far from Antalya airport (30 min transfer time) so could see planes flying low over the sea when we were on the beach but it was not a problem and in no way caused a problem, in fact it was fascinating to see them whilst lazing on the beach loungers! Hotel is brand new, about a year old so everything is quality, room was superb, lots of room for 3 of us, lots of drawer space and sufficient space in the single wardrobe for 3 sets of clothing, but we only went for a week. Guys would have no problem but my wife could have filled it easily if it had been a fortnight ; ) Best thing about the hotel and complex was the cleanliness, we have never stayed at such a spotless place before and we have been holidaying abroad since 1976. Food was good, a little repetitive but as there is plenty on offer we never had any complaints as we simply chose something else each day. Best part about the food is the addition of the B-B-Q where they do a multitude of things from steaks to fish straight off this huge Tuna hanging up, to liver and even Chicken and Turkey!! (No pun intended) Sweets are to die for, pastries, gateux, fruit, everything (except ice cream which is only available at certain times!). So assessment on food 8/10. Met the Executive Chef, Sedat who we chatted to for quite a while told him my only complaint was the house wine, which is part of the ALL INCLUSIVE deal, which was abysmal! He said it was a management decision to raise a contract with the supplier - it's called KULUP and you needed to GU-LP to drink it down, to be honest by the end of the week we'd got used to it, until I got home and had a bottle here.....bliss! The White and Rose is better than the Red. Hotels all run between the beach and road so Lara beach is a strip of hotels, mostly 5 star. Some fascinating designs from the Titanic to Concorde and even the Kremlin! The Hotel Lara Beach though has a cracking interior design with a wide open atrium/foyer with 3 glass lifts running up above, nice touch is the neon changing lights of the lift tracks at night a sight indeed as you sit in the atrium and sip your all inclusive drinks and totally chill out! Entertainment centres at a mock amphitheatre and the entertainment team work very hard to amuse and get people in the swing of things, it's not quality but they do the best they can with limited resources, I reckon, example entertainment was Turkish folk dancing night - that was great. A snake Lady - I personally enjoyed that as my wife accepted an invitation to go on stage and was then presented with an 8 foot python to hold! Class! Might post some piccies of that! Made me smile! Either side of the Hotel is empty, what I mean is left hand side is just wasteland with a single JCB digger and a lorry, someday it may be another hotel, on the other side is more a nature reserve. It is close enough to other hotels to hear music coming from them though, again though thats not an issue just to show that you're not totally isolated. To get to shops its 20 minute walk down the main road, but there is a free bus which leaves 10 past the hour, or a local bus which costs 1 euro per person, we however got roped into taking a taxi for 5 euros, but hey we were on holiday! Overall I would give the hotel 9/10, a couple of things that I would be happier with like the house wine, the drinks available on all inclusive could do with a menu to make it clear, like we had at Asteria Club in Belek. But not enough to knock what is an excellent place to take a holiday/vacation. Towels are provided for the beds, you get a card which you hand in and then swap the towels at a hut as and when you want fresh ones, collect the cards at the end of the holiday otherwise you get charged 10 euros per towel. By the way bring Euros, not Lira as they work in Euros at the hotel, the shops did quote in Lira but were more than happy to deal in Euros. Oh and by the way the staff are great too, very friendly, but warning they are a proud people don't be condescending, treat them with respect and it will pay back tenfold. Final thing, we went while the world cup was drawing to a close so managed to see semi-finals and final being played, the entertainments team did a great job of getting everyone supporting on or other team, that was a terrific memory. I will always remember the German guests painted up with football shirts singing their national anthem, very moving and we enjoyed winding them up (and supporting with them against Portugal - boo hiss). I could go on and probably do, so I'll shut up now and say go to the Hotel Lara Beach those that don't enjoy it are people I probably wouldn't want to share a drink with..... : )
Wonderful Hotel

We have just returned from this Hotel having stayed for 10 days. It is very clean, safe, has friendly staff and has a beautiful setting with plenty of pools. There are plenty of activities during the day with the animation team and evening entertainment 6 days a week. There is a disco at the Sunset Bar until 3am but drinks have to be purchased after midnight. There is the silence pool for those enjoying a peaceful day beside the pool The water chutes are good also and have a seperate pool Food is good with a large selection. Book early for the two restaurants during your stay - well worth it. There is a courtesy bus into Antalya once a day which is worth a day out - but book early - 24 hours in advance. We then took the local bus to the Waterfall. Beach is spotlessly clean with plenty of sunbeds under cover. There is also a Jetty to lie on beds or large cushions. Plenty of watersports. This is an ideal hotel for someone looking for high standards and a relaxing holiday. The area has all 5 star hotels along the beach but there is nothing else in the immediate area. There is waste ground both sides of the Hotel and I assume that other buildings will go up at some point. I would definitely recommend this Hotel.
Absolutely Brilliant Relaxing Holiday

Many thanks to all the hardworking staff at the Hotel. Rooms, Reception, Bars, Pools/Pool Areas, Gardens everywhere very very clean would put our Country to shame!! We had clean sheets and towels everyday. Our sheet was made into either a Swan or Elephant sprinkled with Rose Petals or Roses or Carnations (very lovely personal touch). Well done to Sedan the Head Chef excellent food and displays, and for the wonderful barbecues every night. Italian Restaurant absolutely gorgeous. Yoruk Tent serving Pizzas, Burger and Chips was also brilliant. Plenty to do if you have children and are a family, could do with some evening entertainment for Adults Only, plenty of bars and a disco (we didn't go in so not sure what this was like). BEWARE OF THE MOSQUITOS!! There are lots and they bite badly!!! Beach was gorgeous and the jetty which went out into the sea with sunbeds and cushions was great. Plenty of drinks machines around to help yourself to a drink as well as the bars, they even have one on the beach. We stayed aroung the Silence Pool which is for Over 16's was great but the sound of the music from the pool further up did disturb you at times. Overall was an excellent relaxing holiday and would go again but only for a week maybe only because of the lack of entertainment. Many thanks to Jeanette the Holiday Rep she was brilliant, english but lives in Turkey as she has married a Turkish gentleman knows everything you need to know.
two wonderful weeks

I have been to turkey 7 times and Lara Beach is one of the best Hotels I have stayed in. It is a beautiful five star hotel . It is spotlessly clean and the rooms are spacious with plenty of cupborad and drawer space. The mini bar is stocked with fresh water every day . The food is first class with a great selection to choose from. You can also visit each of the three a la carte once during your stay and I would definately recommend it but skip lunch if you do or you won't have room for all the courses ! The staff are all friendly and keen to make your stay a pleasant one.Watch out for Sedat the Head Chef. Mad as a hatter but I have never laughed so much in my life ! The whole of the management team as high up as the General Manager can be seen around the Hotel every day ensure everything is up to standard. Children are well catered for with daily activities, childrens pool and mini disco but there is also a pool that is called the silence pool that is for over 16's only which is ideal if like me you have been there done that the kids have flown the nest and you want a quiet life now ! Would also recommend the turkish bath and massage. There is a gym, sauna, beauty salon, actually everything you need. The beach is beautiful with a pontoon to sit on or dive off. Squash and water available on the beach with the marina bar 150 metres away if you fancy anything stronger. The only down side is that because the area is still being developed it is a bit remote. We got the bus into antalya and that took 50 minutes and cost pennies. A taxi was about 35 euros between four of us. There are plenty trips available but be prepared for a coach trip of up to an hour before you reach your jeep/boat etc. I am a bit bias as I have always loved Turkey but I would recommend this hotel to anyone with or without family. The only thing to watch out for is that there is waste land either side of the hotel due to be developed so might be worth finding out when this is likely o happen.
Best holiday ever

There were 5 in our party and we arrived at 4am. Our cases were rushed up to our room and we were told there were snacks available in the restaurant if required. The rooms were beautifully appointed and very clean although there was one huge bed and the third person in one room was expected to sleep on a sofa which is not that easy for an almost fully grown 15 year old! All the staff are very friendly and helpful and always seem to be happy even though they work the longest hours. The entertainment team get an A for effort but the evening shows only a C for content! Sedat in particular made us very welcome and gave us plenty of laughs. There is very little to do or see around the hotel as this is a new resort but if you want a nice relaxing holiday with lovely clean (if freezing) pools, you would find it difficult to do better. All inclusive is 24 hours and you can even drink champagne all day if you want to! There are bathrobes and slippers in the rooms and also nice touches like cotton buds, a comb and an emery board in the bathroom. The hotel shops are very expensive but you can catch the hotel bus in to Antalya itself for 5 eros each, or a taxi will cost you 35 euros for 3 hours. As most tourists are German, English is very much a third language but the people are so helpful it really isn't an issue. All in all, a fantastic holiday and we would definitely go again although we may wait until the resort is more established so we can walk around a bit more
Worst travel experience ever!

This hotel is just one of many examples of how european tourist money is spoiling Turkey's coast. We were not expecting a "5 star" hotel when booking this, and the glitzy consumerism really has little appeal. As other reviewers have mentioned, there is nothing of interest within walking distance. Then besides finding the hotel nowhere near what we had hoped for, they started trying to charge us extra for the way we had arranged our stay. The internet reservation we made for a "quadruple" room with part of our family arriving one day and two more the next - got them so confused and we could not get it worked out with them as they felt no responsibility for how their fee structure was advertised through the internet booking agency. We ended up leaving part way through our stay, when no agreement could be reached on what the fair and correct charges should be. After a long and distressing round of arguments with the desk staff. Made for a VERY unpleasant episode of our vacation.
