Colon II Apartments

Just back from the collon ll in las americas,on arrival we checked in went to our apartment only to find the patio doors were broken and hadnt been fixed so it was totally unsafe for my children,we were given another apartment for 1 night until the doors were fixed,by fixed i mean they just screwed on a bolt to hold the door!we moved back the next day,the smell in the bathroom was awful ther was a permanent smell of urine and a puddle ran from our toilet into the hall.I stayed here seven years ago and couldnt fault it one bit,but there standards have slipped immensly!I wont be back here it wasnt worth the money we payed to stay the two weeks,it used to be family orientated but alot of singles and young people are now being drawn in and with that they bring rowdy noise at night!very disappointing holiday.

In a scale of 1/10 for our months stay at Colon 2 Apartments we would be happy to say..10/10. Staff all excellant,very friendly, and always willing to help should you have any quires. The Colon 2 is spotlessly clean,in a great location, in the heart of the Americas, Nice pool area. We had a 2 bed apartment on the top floor,it was really nice. only complaint we had,and it was a pain every morning,was the absence of a toaster. The toasters had been replaced we were told by toastie sandwich makers. Sorry Colon 2 not a good idea... they are too slow, and it's a pain in a morning trying to toast several slices of bread. Thankfully there were only 2 of us... The reception area as a nice coffee/beer/food bar attached to it,all splendid,In fact the best coffee in town. Outside there are tables/chairs where you can enjoy watching life go by on the Americos strip. So relaxing. You wont be disappointed if you stay here. Booking again for another month next year.. oh just to add the Montana restuarant down the road..excellant food,the prices are so good,do good breafast also. Get in early though or you wont get a seat. S & K west Yorkshire UK

We have just returned to Oslo after two weeks at Colon 2. The hotel was extremely cleen and tidy, and the servants very polite and kind.
There was only one thing which disappointed us much; there was no sun on the balcony, not at all, neither in the morning, at daytime or in the evening. People had to rush out to the pool, find a sunbed and a place in the sun. Only half of the pool area was in the sunshine at this time of the year!
Anyway, we went to the beach and found the sun there - and even spent time swimming in 22 degreeds water!
We liked the hotel and the surroundings and will be happy to go back there some time, even if there were very few Scandinaves, most of the guests were English.

Just returned from Colon 2 and have to agree with all previous positive comments.Ideally located,minutes from the beach and although bars and restaurants are close by,there is little or no noise.The apts are clean,with a well finished kitchen and comfortable furniture,although the wooden chairs on the balcony are hard and not intended for long term use.The sunbeds are roped off until 8.45,which stops thr early morning book and towel brigade from reserving them.Another good thing is the lack of timeshare tous who have been banned from the resort by the local authorities.They seem to have been replaced by the "Lookee,Lookie"sunglasses and cheap bead sellers who can also be a nuisance.Local Police on motor scooters seem to be everywhere.One area that could be improved is that the receptionists be a bit more pleasant

Me and my boyfriend went to tenerife for 2 weeks. and i can honestly say this was best hotel and holiday ever. when we arrived the outside of the hotel looks like a coffee shop. the man on reception was scottish and very friendly and helpful. are room was brilliant very clean and fresh with neverything we would need for a 2 week stay. fridge, frezzer, cooker, microwave etc. when we arrived we did notice are fridge was leeking. we reported this straight away and within 10 mins there was a man there to fix it! hotel is in a great location near to beach, shops, restaurants and bars. great day activities to do jungle park is a must! the staff behind the desk were brilliant. i hurt my ankle very badly while i was there and the receptionist was brilliant got me a bag of ice booked us a taxi for the hospital and were very caring for the rest of our stay always making sure i was alright. the cleaners were fantastic changing bedding a towels and were constantly cleaning from morning till late at night!
The only room for improvement would have to be there is only a celing fan in the room no air conditioning.
But we loved this hotel and location so much we are going back in May 2010 and cant wait!

Me and my friend louise are jst home from a week in Tenerife staying at the Colon 2 and i can say it was the best holiday yet.Were both 21 and we'd never been to tenerife before and weren't quite sure what it was going to be like as we knew that Playa des las americas was a popular place for young people for the nightlife so knew it might be noisy but in actually fact it wasn't what we'd expected it was it was better than we expected and can definately say we'll be back.On arrival the place is fantasic really clean you start to think that they drop you at the wrong place because it looks to good to be true. The staff were all lovely,spoke good english and had some very attractive male staff to look at.In your room you have everything you need cooker,fridge to keep things cool etc. The pool was always busy but there were always enough sun loungers to go around and space was big enough to cater for everyone from children to older ones.Shops were all really close by 24hr minimarket was great for getting all the essentials which was only across the road.Nightlife only 5 mins walk and plenty of bars etc to entertain all, 2 of the places we enjoyed was The anchor and chasers they have great entertainment on display.Plenty of restaurants to tickle your tastebuds and has something for even the fusier eaters. There was plenty of things to do in an around Playa des las americas a must is Siam water park it is out of this world of which you could spend the whole day at, another place we visited was the Jungle park, was great to see all the animals of which you would see at any zoo at home.The only negative thing was that a week was not long enough as didn't get to visit Loro Parque and would definately go for longer the next time and i'm hoping to return next year to the same appartment an location.The price for the week at these appartments was definately value for money as its peek session so expected to pay more for as it's 4 star and in centre of location.Definately recommend to anyone going to tenerife and especially my friends.Can't wait to return!!missing the sun already.

this was a last minute holiday, we didn't know much about the hotel. the hotel was clean modern spacious lively without been rowdy, it was in the perfect location, near to everything but not too close to the noise. all the staff was lovely, they could'nt do enough 4 you. food at the hotel bar was beautiful and would recommend mama rosa to everyone. there are plenty of activities for everyone. couldn't find anything to complain about it was a perfect holiday so much so were going back in september.

We enjoyed our stay at Colon 2. We had a studio apartment which was spotlessly clean. It had all the basic equipment that we needed. We did not find the beds excessively hard. There was occasional noise from other guests but no more than any other complex. The complex was continually being cleaned, towels etc were changed often. The staff were friendly. We went to the beach rather than use the pool, but when we returned to the pool in the afternoon there were always sunbeds available. The pool bar was good.
We thought that our holiday with Thompsoms was excellent value at

Just come back from a great holiday with my boyfriend im 28 hes 30, we looked at many hotels before booking and we chose colon based soley on the reviews, we were not dissapointed, as soon as you get dropped off you feel as though theyve made a mistake and left you at some trendy bar, but once past the lovely bar and reception area you get to the hotel which was out of this world, id never seen anything like it, it was a courtyard feel with stairs and a lift to the 4 levels, but in the centre was no roof and just palm trees growing out the top with birds coming and going,saying this youd think there would be mess everywere, but no it is kept absolutely spotless, the maids came 6 days a week, beds were constantly being changed every day and towels every other day, they were always out and about cleaning this hotel definatly deserves its reputation.
also if you book with thompson, dont waste your time with the welcome meeting, tj our rep said we could get a discopunt card if we went, this is just to get you to sit through 30 minutes of a film show, you have to actually book a tour with them to get this card and the cheapest 1 they do is to the market 10 euros each on a coach for 5 hours, we took a cab it cost 5 euros and we walked back stopping off at a few bars, it was much more enjoyable than waiting around 5 hours o be picked up cos after youve seen 1 market stall theyre all pretty much the same, scarves, bags, glasses, totally overpriced!Look on ebay for the card and you save yourself the bother!
To get to the best beach turn left out the hotel and carry on walking un til you reach the sea (5-10 mins if that), once at the walkway along the sea turn left and carry on walking until you see the clean beach with huts on it, this is the man made beach in los cristianos with sand imported and probably the best beach on the island.
also watch out for the reps in clubs, the linikers people lied about drink prices then stood behind us blocking our way out until we paid for a drink! they junt in packs and will do absolutely anything to get you into their bars, also girlies if you take a walk to the san euginie centre you will find a mango outlet store, leave your fella in the bars downstairs watchinf footie and hit the rails 2 dresses from mango originally £70 each, bought from 8 euros each!!!
