My wife and I have stayed at the Colon II on many occasions and intend to return as often as we can in future. We will be there next year as we both love Tenerife and the Colon in particular.
Everyone we have come across at the Colon has been helpful in the extreme from local employees to Thomson (Skytours reps). The accommodation is exceptional since being refurbished, as good as some so-called Hotels.
Mama Rosas is the best restaurant in the area by far and the Pool Bar has always been excellent. Anyone who complains of the rules etc. must be looking out for trouble or confrontation as we have never found any problems in that direction. We have great fun every time we have stayed there and we stay out late every night, and are not tea total.
We would recommend this accommodation to anyone. We have also made some great friends there and intend renewing aquaintances soon.

We went to the Colon on 3rd July 2007. I can honestly say it was the worst holiday I have ever been on and it was due to the apartments at the Colon. The family rooms are on the top floor and just seem to get forgotten about.
The staff are very miserable and don’t appreciate customers complaining no matter how small. Six children were ill from the pool and they were stools floating around the pool! Not as clean as you think on arrival.
Not child friendly whatsoever.

Me and my girlfriend went to Tenerife for the first time and totally enjoyed it. We didn't go for the clubbing we went for the beauty and people.
The place is amazing, so hot but yet a cooling breeze blows every so often to keep you going all day.
The food was brilliant and all the people in the shops and restaurants are so friendly, no hassle and as everyone can speak a little English you never feel stuck, although if you can you should learn a few Spanish phrases as its only fair, if they speak English why not try Spanish.
There are supermarkets everywhere open all night long so you can always get what you want when you want it.
Daniel's restaurant was our choice of place to eat, they even had a Pilipino guy called Eddie that sings, and he is very good.
You should also try Tony Romas, best ribs around, little Italy is fantastic, proper Italian food.
Infact any place you choose I’m sure you’ll enjoy, it is just that good.
Check out Loro Parque, water park, Mount Teide.

I and my fiancé (both 22 years old) went to the Colon 2 apartments for two weeks on holidays.
Our first impressions were this is absolutely brilliant really clean and compact (we had a studio). Throughout the whole holiday we had a great time, the cleaners are very friendly and efficient, they clean every day except on a Wednesday and respect your wishes when you put the do not disturb sign on so it was lovely for us because we do like our lie ins.
Even though it is a five minute walk from the hustle and bustle you actually can’t hear anything which was a relief!
The hotel reception workers were also really friendly and welcoming we felt as ease straight away!
Over the holiday we went to numerous bars and restaurants and our favourites were Sugar and Spice gorgeous food, Michelangelo’s (you get discount in here because you stay in the colon 2 10%) and for a good drink and live entertainment we recommend the anchor bar (stays open until 3 o'clock and is suitable for all ages).
The only down side was that the rules are very very strict especially in regards to lilo's and balls in the pool, which we didn't like as we like to have fun in the pool not just swimming!
The pool side bar is great for snacks and the slushes are lush I practically lived on them the whole two weeks!
I would definitely recommend this hotel and would go back there at the drop of a hat!

Excellent Hotel in excellent location. Would have got 10 out of 10 but for the fact the Pub within the apartments was closed as the owner was on Holiday.
Surprised no one else could run it. If they want someone to cover I am the man lol.
Staff excellent and made to feel at home right away. Poolside bar serves excellent food and staff also excellent.
Cannot speak highly enough of these apartments. I certainly would return.

Come back from Tenerife feeling relaxed, tanned and very happy with the standard and service of this accommodation. Would certainly stay again.
Staff helpful, pleasant polite all the time, cleanliness second to none.
Ate and drank at some brill restaurants, some that need a mention.
If you want a curry then it’s got to be the Krishna 2 tandoori in the city centre next to la siesta, just a small walk from the apartments staff and food fantastic, best curry I’ve tasted and I’ve had a few, will be back in October for another great meal.
Toni Romas ok if you like the American themed food. Chinese Slowboat excellent in the Safari Centre.
Def recommend these apartments for a stay good location, good service and a good time had by all.

Having never done a review before, I seriously considered not doing this one as I did not want others to discover the Colon 2 and therefore make it even more popular.
The location is excellent and the accommodation first class for the money.
Friendly staff who kept the place spotless, every evening the pool area would be polished and any repairs taken care of.
Well worth a visit for couples or families.
The restaurant on site is lovely as is the cafe bar situated at reception.

We have just got back from a 1 week stay at the Colon 2.
We booked two rooms, one huge apartment and a studio, both lovely.
Well apart from if you are under another room, the sound travels down and if the people occupying it are noisy, let’s say you won’t sleep you can hear every bang, knock and even talking.
Apart from that, the maids are great. Not one day went past without someone making the bed, they even wash your dishes.
The hotel reception staff are not to good, they're rude and don’t really speak much English.
This hotel is no good for anyone 17+ looking for a lively hol, as the rules are strict and you get warned for anything, no noise after 10, no lilos, balls in pool.
Reps, what reps? They're never around if you need help. I think I saw him once on a night out.
The location in fab right smack bang in the heart of the centre with everything you need no fewer than 900 yards.
Bars - Bonkers is a yes if you’re looking for a laugh, the staff dance sing and fully entertain you. Sound of Cream is good for a few warm up drinks before heading to Rags/Tramps.
I would go back to this resort but not the Colon. Don’t get me wrong, it's clean and very central but the rules, the rude staff (apart from the maids) and the noisy bedrooms are a big no no for us, as we were a group aged between 13 and 23, even the 3 year old got told off for playing with a bouncy ball on the balcony.
Hope I have not put you off but like I say, no good if you want to have fun in the hotel and well as the bars.

Coming from an experienced travel agent these apartments could not be cleaner or better located.
Turn left out of the hotel there are many bars, restaurants, shops as well as the impressive Mare Nostrum, resort where most of the upper class bars and restaurants are although still very reasonable in price.
I would recommend the Star of Asia - Indian, Slowboat - Chinese, Tony Romas - American and Jags if you like the taste of home (Scotland anyway)
Turn right out of the apartments and a five minute walk brings you to Leonardo's on the rights and then all of the main nightlife such as bonkers, tramps, rags etc.
We had a studio overlooking the pool area which we found an ideal size for two. We also had a look around the apartments, which are huge for the money you pay.
All staff very friendly especially pool bar lady and the guy who runs the pub onsite.
All in all I would definitely return to this accommodation.

We go to Las Americas every year and Colon II apartments are by far the best we have ever stayed at. Extremely clean.
Food from pool bar very good with friendly service. We ate at Mama Rosas and although we thought it to be quite expensive, was worth the money.
Lots to do as centrally located ,we have been to Loro Parque on a couple of occasions and enjoyed it thoroughly, as it has lots to see and all the animals seem to be really well kept.
You can book for Loro Parque directly opposite the Colon II and they also sell tickets for various other outings, including medieval night, which is a great night out for children and adults alike.
Price includes bus travel a meal, wine for adults and juice for children and cabaret show, altogether well worth the money.

My boyfriend and I have just returned from a week in the Colon 2 apartments. I cannot fault the apartments at all, they are so clean it seems that the maids never stop!
We stayed in a twin bedroom which was very spacious and had everything you need for self catering. The kitchen is of a good size and has a hob, microwave with grill, toaster, kettle, and utensils. The bathroom was also a good size with a nice powerful shower. The apartments were cleaned everyday and we were given clean towels and bed linen every other day.
We were situated on the 2nd floor and had a great balcony looking out over the pool. The pool is open from 9am - 7pm and the place is spotless! The ground is buffed every night and the sun beds are cleaned daily and are also power hosed once a week. The water in the pool is salt water rather than chlorine but to be honest it didn't make any difference to us.
The pool bar was excellent, good freshly made food which is very reasonably priced and there is a great selection. The girls behind the bar are so friendly and helpful, which to me is very important, there is nothing better than service with a smile!
The location of the hotel is ideal, although it is situated near to the busy night life area of Veronicas Strip you hear very little noise. My boyfriend and I are both 20 and only ventured to Veronicas once where we were bombarded with touts trying to get us into their bar. We tended to head left out of the hotel and towards Los Cristianos which is lovely and has a beautiful beach and watersports. There is plenty of bars and restaurants to suit every taste, even if your fussy like me!
All in all, the apartments are pretty quiet and peaceful which is exactly what me and my boyfriend were looking for. If you are young and want a lively, busy, noisy hotel then don't go to the Colon 2. I loved every minute of my holiday and am thinking about booking back up for the Colon 2 in November this year!!
