Hotel Mutlu is situated on the beach and definately the best hotel on the strip. Grounds and pool are excellent, well kept and pretty, plenty of sun beds and brollies available but on some days when it was busy not as much room as the garden is small. All the Staff helpful and friendly but surprised by the owners of the hotel were very rude and didn't speak or smile at any resident for the whole two weeks we were there. The hotel bedrooms were very basic and initially I was disapointed that the bedspread had a hole in it and was a little tired looking however, our room and bathroom were kept very clean Air con worked fantastically. . Our room overlooked a large garden, could just about see the sea but balcony very small and difficult for both of us to sit on it at the same time. Room was quite cool as sun on the other side of the building all day but views from the other side more scenic. Lunch time food at Mutlu good never ate there in the evening though. Breakfast very very basic and apart from the standard water melon no other fruit available. Dispite this, breakfast served outside overlooking beach which is lovely. Avoid the weekly BBQ as food disappointing and there is no entertainment whatsoever. Plenty of restaurants and bars to choose from. SAT restaurant is well worth a visit located at the end of Chalis beach and on stilts overlooking Fetiye. Georges and Chalis beach restaurant. also worth a visit good food at reasonable prices. Sunsets at Chalis beach are absolutely beautiful. Plenty of boat trips to choose from we tried two island hoping ones but the one organised by the tour operator was the best as not as many people on it was organised better. A trip to the blue lagoon at Olu Deniz worth a visit we thought it was very busy though and sun beds on top on the other and it was very hot the day we went so I suggest you find somewhere with a bit of shade. More sun bed room at Sugar beach at Olu Deniz also worth a visit, waiters on hand to deliver your drinks, cocktails and food to you at no extra charge so no need to more for the day unless for a dip in the lagoon. If going to the Markets go either very very early in the moring (opens at 8am) or late in the evening. By 10:30am in July/Aug too hot and uncomfortable to shop. Definately recommed the fish market in Fetiye where you can buy fresh fish or seafood and then take it to one of the fish market restaurants and have it cooked as you like it. All in all, a good hotel not luxury and basic facilities, resort and location excellent for a relaxing quiet beach holiday.
perfectly situated, clean and great staff

we had a one week stay at the Hotel Mutlu and were impressed by the friendly and helpful staff. The location was excellent with local restaurants, shops and amazing sunsets. The Mutlu is perfectly situated with the shingle beach on the doorstep. Going to Fethiye for the market, fish market and shopping is easy and pleasant with the nearby water taxi. We felt the Turkish people were extremely warm and genuine. There was no in your face hassling when browsing which we also liked. We went on a jeep safari for one day which we booked through Karacay trips with a fantastic gentleman, also booked for 2 day trip to Ephesus and Pamukkale which was also superb -Karacay trips is in Calis Beach near water taxi. Highly recommended and would go back anytime. Hello to the lovely Eylem on reception and the lads at the bar at the Mutlu.
What a fantastic Hotel!

I have to say that this was the best holiday i have ever been on. The hotel was extremely clean and the staff were amazing, especially the lady on reception (i'm sorry i don't remember her name), they couldn't do enough for us and bent over backwards to make our stay enjoyable from our maid hanging all our clothes up for us on our first day to the owner of the hotel taking a member of our party to the nearest chemist when he had earache! The rooms were basic but very clean with brilliant views and we felt we had everything we needed. As for Calis Beach in general, it is a lovely resort with beautiful views. There are plenty of restaurants to choose from who all serve lovely food. The nightlife is a little on the quiet side but the bars were very accommodating. Children are welcome at all times and the little girl who came with us was given VIP treatment everywhere we went!! Depending upon your tastes, we found that food and drinks were very cheap (some bars worked out at 80p per pint!) unless ordering imported drinks which worked out about the same as a home I was part of a group of 16 and every single one of us have said that we would all go back again when possible and we are all looking forward to it.
As Good As Ever

Had another wonderful holiday at this hotel, returned for the second time. The staff are outstanding so friendly, helpful & polite especially Eylem on the reception and Yazin and the bar staff. The hotel and the rooms are kept spotless. I was surprised by the early review in May as this didn't sound like the Mutlu hotel. We don't normally return to the same Hotel or resort but this hotel is special.

What a great hotel

We have just returned from 2 weeks at this excellent hotel. It is in a wonderful position right on the sea front and close to all the bars and restaurants but far enough away to be quiet. The pool and gardens are very well kept and there are plenty of sunbeds and umbrellas - no need to reserve,we always managed to get a lounger at any time of day. The rooms are spotless and very well maintained. We were on the top floor at the front of the hotel which had amazing views over the bay. Nothing is too much trouble for any of the staff but Elyem who is on reception (but does much much more than that)is amazing. A very pleasant lady, always smiling and for whom nothing is too much trouble at all. We have tried to book for September but the hotel is full until October - that's how good it is - we spoke to people who had been back 12 times and everyone had either been before or would go back. We are going to book early for next year definately. I would recommend this hotel and resort unreservedly. Calis is small and fairly quite but Fethiye is only 15 minutes away by bus or 30 minutes by water taxi if you fancy a change. We also went on the bus to Hisaronu and Olu Deniz if you fancy a change -both about 45 -50 minutes away and no hassle to get there or back. If anyone has been to Turkey and does not like being harrassed by bar owners etc. be aware that this is being clamped down on and while we were there 2 bars were closed down for 5 days for harrassing people - they didn't do it again when they reopened
great!

I stayed at Mutlu hotel last year with my mum and sister. It was our second visit, as we had stayed there the year before aswell. I really enjoyed both stays, as the staff were friendly, the hotel food was good and the location was brilliant! There are great restaurants in Calis and also in Fethiye (just a boat taxi away). I would recommend this hotel to families or couples who go away for a quiet, relaxing break.

Absolutly the best hotel around. i have been there three times and plan to go again in october. the staff are so friendly and remember you year after year! the rooms are standard but good for turkey but the views over the beach and toward fethiye are fantastic! absolutly beautiful surroundings and situated on the top of the strip[ so it is quiet but you are not far away from nightlife on the backstrip or quiet restaurants on the front! you must go!!!!!!!

Mutlu is the most expensive hotel on the strip, there is no other bad news.Rooms are what you expect but the position the staff and the breakfasts are excellent.Calis strip has plenty of reasonable eating and drinking places still with traditional turkish hospitality.we spent time at ana's good drinks and brilliant staff. My partner and her daughter had never been to turkey before but cant wait to go back to calis again.calis itself might seem a bit touristy but just across the bay,Fethiye, has all the authentic turkey you need(try the tuesday market in Gunlukbsahi instead of the thursday market in fet.)Calis and Fet.are great bases for exploring the surrounding area the history and views are the best in Turkey i know i've been to them all.Sort youself out with trips dont bother with the holiday reps the locals will look after you, there are good inexpensive excursions from the central dolmus station in fethiye, ask the drivers.Since i've been to calis 6 years ago theres been some development mainly for the british buyers take my advice and go now before it gets taken over you'll love it.
We were lucky enough to get into the very best Hotel here in Calis Beach. Eylem and Shaun run that Hotel with the help of the staff with warmth, energy and efficiency. The food is good. The welcome and the good-bye fantastic.
