Just returned after two weeks holiday. Our room on arrival was spotless but that was the only time as it was never dusted for the duration of our stay.
The breakfast was nice but the owner sat there like a hawk watching what you took. They accused my son of breaking a door handle, the truth was that the handle was loose when we arrived and it just refused to work. My other son called at the hotel on one occasion(he was staying at Nefeli which he liked) he was knocking on my door when the older woman appeared and told him to get out . People like them should not have a hotel. The position of the hotel is excellent the decor good breakfast good but the owners were grumpy individuals.

Just returned from Thassos after our 7th visit there, and have already booked to go back again in September.
If you want a really clean hotel in an ideal location, then look no further than the Kamelia. It is quite literally right on the beach, ok right outside the hotel, it is rocky, but walk 2 minutes in either direction and you have sandy beaches.
The hotel has a lovely Garden Bar and the breakfasts are superb with a choice of about 8 different tea bags for a start. Plenty to eat to suit all tastes and there was even a toaster there. I have stayed at other hotels on the island and they are nowhere as good as this one.
5 or 6 tavernas within 5 minutes walk, and the town is just a minute or two further for those on self catering. But don't think the hotel location is noisy, far from it; we stayed in the front of the hotel and heard no noise whatsoever.
Towels seemed to be changed every day, and although the rooms might be a little on the small size for some, it didn't matter to us at all.
Not going to single out any restaurants for special mention, we all have our own tastes, so my advice is to try a different one every evening and decide for yourself. If you want to hire a car then there are 3 or 4 operators in the town, but go and see Pauline and Martin at Potos Car Rental which is 2 minutes from the hotel for probably the best deal.
The Hotel Kamelia, try it, you will not be disappointed.
