Green Sea Apartments

We stayed at the Green Sea, Skala Potamias for a week at the start of September.
The accommodation was basic, as we had expected, but very clean and tidy, and more than adequate - shower, small hob, fridge, comfortable beds, tv and optional air-con. Couldn't fault it at all. Our room overlooked the pool area, which was also clean and tidy and very inviting. Beyond the pool is the bar/restaurant which is absolutely brilliant. The staff are friendly, the food is awesome and the view exceptional.
Just beyond that, a literal stone's throw away, is the beach - golden sands, crystal clear water and enough fish and sea creatures to make taking goggles and a snorkel worthwhile. The sun loungers in front of the Green Sea cost 5 Euros for 2, for the whole day, which is pretty good, and the staff will bring drinks out to you if you ask nicely. The beach was rarely crowded, and was nice enough for us to leave our gear on the loungers without worrying about someone stealing it.
Apart from the beach there's very little to do in the resort. There's some good restaurants (Flisvos, Captain and the blue one next to Captains were very nice), and a few bars about 10 mins walk away, but nothing you'd consider lively. There are things to do/see if you want - boat trips, ruins, etc - but these are all out of the resort and require a little bit of effort to get to. I wouldn't recommend the place to people wanting to party all night long - it just won't happen!
Overall I would 100% recommend the Green Sea to anyone wanting a nice relaxing week at the beach without the touristy side of Greece getting rammed down your throat.

Just returned back (23rd August) from yet another great Greek Holiday, have stayed on Thassos before but not at the Greensea, however, the Greensea really did us proud! The staff were really friendly from the moment we arrived at the apartments. We had a Studio for 2 but could easily have accomodated 3. Maid service everyday, clean rooms and clean and tidy complex within a 3 minute walk to a lovel sandy beach.

we have been to this resort two years running,our first visit was excellent.the second visit was terrible.there was a building site both sides of our apartments,which was really noisey,we couldnt sit by thec pool,but when we went to the beach infront of the aparments we were charged 7 euros per day.the room we stayed in had mold on the walls and smelt damp.our electic rings did not work,cuboard doors were falling off.
Thompson failed to inform us that there was building work going on.When we spoke to
the thompson rep she was rude and was not interested at all.

We have just arrived back from the Green Sea Apartments in Skala Potamia and we wanted to add a more up to date review.
We had a wonderful holiday made all the better by the clean, modern and spacious apartment which now has air con! The family who run the apartments and restaurant are very nice and friendly.
The food in the restaurant is lovely too, especially the massive Greek Salad. Another favourite taverna was the Akrogiali on the sea front!
The beach is lovely especially outside the green sea where there are just enough sunbeds for everyone but is not crowded. We paid 7Euros for 2 sunbeds and a brolly which we thought was very reasonable but the beds by the pool are free! The pool is quite small but clean and well maintained.
We found a lovely bar, the Aegean which is run by a lovely couple Ann and Iain. It is just a couple of minutes walk from the green sea. Although they are English this is definitely not a tacky English bar and they are so welcoming and helpful. We made lots of friends of all different nationalities.
The island of Thassos is beautiful and typically Greek. It is unspoilt and is not for people looking for nightclubs.
We will definitely be returning, both to Thassos and to the Green Sea apartments!
