Brilliant Hotel and location, stunning views

This is a beautiful place. The hotel was very well kept. Breakfast was basic but who cares.It was very well presented and we were made to feel very welcome. Nikki and her family were very kind, and we loved thier dog! We saw everything there was to see on this lovely island, and enjoyed every minute of it. Car or bike hire is widely available, but the public transport is a thousand times superior to anything currently existing in Wales! We tried it all! A fishing trip , lunch provided, on a pretty boat who's owner spoke better English than we did, and was a close friend of the Blue Bay owners turned out to be a smashing day out. The Thompson brochure clearly states that the hotel is best suited to the "really used to walking" holiday makers. They were right too! I especially seek out such places, comforted by the fact that I will not be pestered by lager louts and pushchairs. Fab all round holiday. Returning May '09. I can't wait!

We have been to Blue Bay hotel for three years and we have found it to be superb.
When people comment about the hill one would say the scenic veiw both ways is well worth the hike!
Anna Angelo Elpe Nikki and Rudi the dog make you feel most welcome and we would not hesitate to return.
If you are thinking about going on this holiday, on an evening it is well worth going to Panagia,the taverna with the blue chairs right next to the water fountain,and see Alex for a lovely cool refreshing drink(and don't forget the nuts).
All in all Thassos is a lovely freindly holiday,look forward to going back!

Golden Beach is a wonderful scenic resort with a glorious sandy beach and is a wonderful place to come to chill out without their being an abundance of larger louts and young children.
There is a very good selection of traditional Greek tavernas here serving authentic food but in common with the slow pace of life here the service is slow and relaxed.
The Blue Bay hotel is somewhat isolated at the far end of the resort in an elevated position and there is a long steady hill to get to this accommodation which we found a bit much. This fact would certainly deter us from staying at this hotel again but certainly not at this resort as we will return.
The rooms and everything about the hotel are clean but basic and distinctly average and what you would expect from a small Greek hotel. The views from our room because of its location were wonderful.

The best point about the Blue Bay hotel is the stunning views. The worst point is to reach it there is a long hill up a track which we found arduous and a struggle.
Fair enough Thomson brochure does warn you about the hill but they are being economical with the truth about the length. Also the hotel is located at the Eastern end of the resort so we felt a little isolated.
The owners were friendly and the rooms and breakfast simple and basic. A slight problem with plumbing.
Golden Beach has wonderful sands gently shelving into the sea. There are also a number of typically Greek tavernas.
We did have a problem with wasps here and were both stung.
The Blue Bay hotel maybe alright in low season but in the height of the summer the climb up the hill was too much for us.

This is a fantastic hotel. Anna & Nicky were very welcoming and very helpful with local information and Greek language lessons!
Each morning a hearty breakfast was served in their stunning well kept gardens. The rooms were cleaned everyday and spotless. We went in May and the resort was practically deserted but that was a bonus!
The only downside would be the trek to the hotel which is approx 800meters from the beach and walking back was slightly uphill. Not too bad - but not great for people with mobility problems.
The plus side is of course, the hotel is so peaceful with no traffic or resort noise. And the view is spectacular so the daily trek was well worth it!!
I would recommend it and would certainly return to the Blue Bay. The best B&B in Greece!
