Worst holiday ever by Liz W
1 / 10

Hotel room very small, not cleaned every day also bin in bathroom not emptied for two days.Staff lacking personalities ! Lily the owner most brusque woman I've ever met.The other reviewers who gave her 10/10 must be easily pleased or regulars. We would never stay there again. Been to Olu Deniz 5 times the Turk is by far the worst hotel ever!

  • Holiday details: Jul 2013, Booked Independently
  • Advice: Phillips bar facing Turk. The staff are entirely the opposite so friendly and accommodating
  • Good For: Beach

Great Times by Fletch
10 / 10

Been to the Turk five times in the last three years and going back again! Even booked direct with Lily for the second time.

The rooms are clean and well looked after, the heart of the hotel is the outside bar area, and Lily and the team do their very best to ensure you have a good time.

If you want to see what its like have a look at the the Turks web site and take the virtual tour or better still see if the webcam is working!

If you are looking for a holiday sitting in your room or sat on your balcony this is not for you. If on the otherhand you are looking for a hotel with a bit of life and chat this is for you.

  • Advice: Great place - book it!

Are we talking of the same hotel? by potatoface1

My partner and i returned last night from a lovely break in Oludeniz...however I am sad to say this was not due to the stay at the Turk Hotel. We arrived at the hotel at 6am, totally shattered, only to realised that we we're to be ushered to a basement room (complete with cochroache) to sleep until a more appropriate room became available. Since we were so tired we did not question it and just looked forward to getting a nice room. Later that day we were shown to a small clean room, with a new but small bathroom, and a balcony inside a shop! So no sun, no privacy unless the curtains were closed, nowhere to smoke, nowhere to dry clothing etc.. Yes I agree Lilly and Rambo were nice enough (that is their job), but should they really be renting out a room like this? For us this was not a great location, there was a loud bar called Shadow bar over the road, which totally over-shadowed our sleep til gone 2am. I went here largely based on previous reviews, but I would not recommend it, so much so that we relocated for the last few nights of our stay to a quieter and more spacious hotel, and finally got some relaxation. Maybe a good hotel if you like to drink a fair bit on holiday and mix with fellow Brits, but if looking for peace and relaxtion and culture avoid with care!

  • Holiday details: Sep 2009, Bed & Breakfast, booked with Holidaymate
  • Advice: Beautiful and picturesque with a choice of beach and lagoon. Plenty to do, or good to just chill!!!
  • Activities: Jeep safari, Lagoon, friendly Turks

This is the most fantastic place you... by Debbie Peart

This is the most fantastic place you will ever stay in Olu Deniz! The location is perfect and very accommodating for those who are not so fit or able. The resort is flat and accessible for people with mobility problems. Lily and her family are so welcoming, friendly and helpful, and of course we have to mention Rambo!!!!!!! He really is the star of the show. The rooms are cleaned on a daily basis and the maids seem to wash the paths all the time. In 1 word.......a 2 star that should be 3. This is a fab family run hotel that will not disappoint.

we have just come back from a 2 week... by C Prince
10 / 10

we have just come back from a 2 week stay at the turk hotel, before going we had read the reviews and were a bit unsure about what to expect, well we had no need to worry. This hotel is a 2 star hotel and anyone who has been to greece or turkey before will know to expect a basic accommodation, the rooms are basic and small, but we soon learnt to move out of one anothers way, and after a few days had got this down to a T. The breakfasts are continental ,you can order a full english if you want to my husband had one a couple of times they were massive, 9 lira, this price is about the same as in any of the restaurants, the food in the hotel is excellent. The pool is clean with plenty of sunbeds so you don't have to get up a the crack of dawn to put your towel on them.Reading the reviews we expected lily to be rude and unapproachable, this could not be further from the truth, whether you stay round the hotel or not,she is very busy and at times cannot spend alot of time with people, but when she can she cannot do enough for you, she is very funny and extremley kind,Rambo is great can't do enough for you.we are going back again, so don't be put off by some of the negative comments, they should pay 5*Prices if thats what they want.We loved it.

I can recomend this hotel to all.... by K Atherton
10 / 10

I can recomend this hotel to all. Both my wife and I throughly enjoyed our holiday in Olu Deniz and the Turk hotek is 1st class. The rooms are clean and tidy and the food is excellent and the staff so friendly. The resort has so much to offer with out being loud. The resort caters for both young and old and the friendly banter you can have with the Turkish people is really fun. If you just want to relax and just soak up the sun or try your hand at parasailing its simply up to you. The several restaurants cater for all tastes and the food is both good and reasonably priced. We will be booking again and would recomend the turk hotel to singles couples and couples with children. Needless to say we carn't wait for next year.

great resort shame about the accomdation by catDerbyEngland

just returned from olu deniz, had agreat time but for the hotel we stayed in which was hotel turk, the area was fantastic,so close to everything, did not need to venture far.

hotel turk is more of one star if you was to rate it ,the problem is the rooms so small, and the bathroom was terrible ,it was an ordeal just to take a shower, black mould on the shower walls ,shower head hanging off no where to hang it,so you had to hold it over you, plus it flooded numerous times, had to ask for hand towels as there was none in room, light bulbs missing ,handles off draws missing and the pillows were badly stained.we did mention the problems with other guests, and we think it got back to lillie the owner as she then ignored us ,she only had time for guests who were spending money at the bar or on food at the hotel,it was also very clicky .we will be going back to olu deniz but not the turk hotel..

Basement room by Joody6
8 / 10

Just spent over a week at the Turk Hotel, very nice 2-3 star hotel, staff nice and friendly. My room was lovely, and had a balcony with bouganvilia cascading down really pretty. My daughter had a room which was more or less in the basement, it was clean and serviceable,

but was dark as you had to go down steps to get to it and had a yard which was enclosed by a wall. Above the wall was the kitchen and restaurant so that guests eating in the restaurant could see you in your room and in your yard. Plus the kitchen was just near by and there was a wonderful view of a large bag of onions!! But putting this aside, the hotel was wonderful and my daughter was moved to a much better room after the second day. She could see daylight!! A lovely relaxing holiday in a good hotel in a beautiful resort.

You can`t go wrong with this one! by Joni_Egg

We have just returned from 2 weeks in Olu Deniz and had a wonderful time! We booked through an online company so did not really have a lot of information on the hotel but thankfully we picked well!

We arrived late in the evening and were greeted by Lilly and Hussain who ran the hotel! We waited in the bar whilst the finishing touches were made to our room. Air conditioning was not included in the price but is available at 3 pounds per day, we decided not to have it but if you are not good with the heat i suggest taking it as it was extremely warm (even at night)!

The safe in the room was 10 pounds per week.

The room was basic but personally we spend very little time in our room so it was all we needed. It was spotless, the cleaners worked very hard and we seemed to have new towels every day!!!!

We spent our first evening in the hotel bar, it has a nice atmosphere as long as you dont mind putting up with Rambo the barman! No, Rambo was very good fun and looked after us extremely well.

We stuck to drinking beer whilst on holiday as we did find the spirits expensive, even locally produced. A large beer was about 4 YTL and spirits started at 7.50 YTL - 12YTL depending on where you are drinking. Do ask the prices before you order, we had a shock one night to be charged 10 pounds for 2 gin and tonics in the local nightclub!!!

Breakfast in the hotel was good, a little boring after 2 weeks but from experience it is the same throughout all hotels. You could help yourself to toast, jams, tomatoes/cucumber, cheeses etc. If you wanted cooked breakfast it was possible at a small extra charge.

The food in the hotel was very good, fresh and extremely cheap in comparison to some of the restaurants by the beach.

Try the mixed fried vegetables and garlic/mint yoghurt - yummy!

If I was to return to Olu Deniz I would definetly stay in the hotel turk again!

Just returned from 2 weeks at the... by C Hearn
8 / 10

Just returned from 2 weeks at the Turk Hotel.

Hotel was lovely, clean, bathroom lovely - shower cubicle rather than curtain or hole! Room had TV; we rented the air con safety deposit box and fridge for £40 per week.

Plenty of sun beds round the pool, pool was quite warm but it was high in the 40's when we visited. Pool could get quite busy after about 3.30 as we found most of the holiday makers were Turkish during our stay, and that’s when they returned from the beach.

The pool bar was the same price as in town, the food was lovely though; try Lilly's spicy lentil soup, I pulled my face at first but it was beautiful. Rambo round the pool bar was really funny and friendly. Made us laugh during our stay; watch his age though he changes it depending on yours!

Location was great, 5 mins walk from the beach, round the corner from the main street that runs through resort.

If there were any bad points, I’d say the lack of other English holiday makers - there were a few other couples but not many. Hotel was quiet in general so this may be why? The other down point was they frowned upon you bringing snacks and drinks from outside the hotel in, I don’t mean kebabs I mean like crisps and drinks etc. which were obviously a lot cheaper in the local supermarkets? Didn’t cause a major problem as we didn’t go away to eat twix and crisps really.

Would go back tomorrow to avoid this english weather!

Brilliant! by retired_backpacker

We just got back from Oludeniz and stayed in the Turk hotel.

We had a great time. The staff were very friendly, Lily and Rambo and the staff made us feel very welcome.

We had a terrible time getting there with Onor air (shockingly bad customer service, our plane was 11 hours late and no one gave us any update, no food vouchers, no drink vouchers and no announcements. Terrible!) and when we arrived we forgot all about our ordeal getting there and just relaxed by the pool and had a thoroughly enjoyable time.

I would certainly reccomend this hotel and will go back some day.
