Before booking our holiday to Strofades I searched endlessly on the web finding out about the resort, hotel and beach.
I had been recommended by my sister who loves Greece that Tsilivi was a great choice to visit in September and the bars and restaurants were excellent.
I have to say this was one of the best holidays I've had, the hotel location was perfect, quiet and peaceful and only 10 minutes walk to all the restaurants.
Our room was just as the photo, staff were very friendly and the beach was just across from the hotel which was fantastic as we spent every day sunbathing and swimming in the sea.
The only down side was that because we went mid September the weather was a little temperamental and we had showers nearly every day which only lasted 20minutes, then the clouds disappeared and there was blue sky for the rest of the day.
I would definitely stay at the hotel again and highly recommend Tsilivi, but would book beginning of September next time.

Our first visit to this island, also called Zante, we stayed at the resort of Tsilivi. The hotel was a quiet at night, being a leisurely 10 minute stroll from the centre of Tsilivi where there is an abundance of bars and restaurants. Many of the restaurants we tried were good but particular favourites were Sweet Revenge (Aussie waitresses) and Olive Garden. Staff are friendly and attentive (even after you have decided to eat there - unlike some other islands.)
The hotel is less than 100 metres from the beach, at the quiet right hand end of the bay. There is tavernas here with a garden at the edge of the sea where you can hire sunbeds and parasols for 6 euros per day. (No sand in your suntan lotion).
The hotel Strofades is very clean with extremely friendly (particularly if you try a few Greek words) and helpful staff. There is a decent pool but the sunbeds are shaded for approx. ½ day on alternate sides of the pool. (Pool bar music is a bit annoying if you like peace and quiet - hence our daily visit to the aforementioned garden). Lunches are available at the pool bar and also at two tavernas in immediate proximity on the beach.
The weekly earth tremors are common, interesting, but nothing to worry about.
We would definitely visit this resort and hotel again.

Great hotel, clean comfortable rooms, few steps from beach, nice pool, good selection of food at breakfast and also a very cheap varied menu at the pool bar during the day. All the staff are so friendly.
10 mins walk from the centre of Tsilivi with loads of bars, restaurants, shops and activities to keep you amused. Food and drink is far cheaper than the UK.
Restaurants: Fiorentinos, Olive Tree (NOT OLIVE GARDEN), Pieros, Camelot and Family were the best we tried. Olive Garden and Trente Nove look nice but food let them down.
Basils Bar and That Bar are run by English owners and have quizzes, bingo, racing, live music and Sky Sports to keep you entertained. Fantasy Golf (3 courses) followed by a drink at Molly Malones is a must.
The bowling complex was good for pool and crazy golf, didn't try the bowling.
Went on a couple of Thomson trips; Simply Zante to see the island in a day and Sunday Night Live where all the reps sang & danced. Both were excellent.
There are a lot of tour companies in the resort offering trips and renting cars but didn't use them.
Weather was fantastic during our 2 weeks, a few spots of rain & some windy evenings but other than that 30 degrees plus each day and still 24 degrees some evenings.
Would highly recommend the hotel, resort and island, will definitely return one day.
